 mucker:

Thanks for the input so far, everyone. From the picture on the box, I'm leaning towards the 74/75/76 mottling...hopefully I can get to it later today.

The G was built right along side the A at the plant so they would get the same camo treatment.  Since 74/75/76 was standard until late fall of '44 that would be the safest bet IMHO.

I appreciate the info, Mike. A lot of good info from the brain trust in this GB. Plus, 74/75/76 just looks the coolest IMHO!!

Hi Your Highness, I looked through some of my refs incluing 'Luftwaffe colours 1935-1945' by Micheal Ulman (Very good stuff in there) and to no avail really. A lot of late war 190's were 76/81/82 which would suit your needs.

Heres a pic from WP,

Charles,

I took a look at my reference books, and came up with nothing solid.  The 190 A's, F's, and D's are fairly well documented, but the G's apparently are not.  A number of the earlier G's were built from rescued airframes, so nearly any combo could probably be found.  Do you know which unit your aircraft served with?  That might help out.

Thank, Frank. I am in a holding pattern until I can confirm the colors. My thoughts are more to the tune of 02/74/75 for the mottle....

Charles- I have a couple of books at home focusing on Luftwaffe camo.  I will take a look tonight when I get home to see if I can offer any assistance as well.

Guy nice to see you working at your leisurly pace as always. Man your making me really want that D 11/13. Did you save me any leftover sasuage from dinner?

Mucker those colors do'nt sound right to me either. Unfortunately the majority of the books I have dealing with the 190 are focused on the Anton or Dora models. I do'nt recall seeing much on the G as far as colorplates but I'll take a look through my books and see if I can find anything usefull.

Guy, you've already lapped me! Looking good, though, by the way. Not bad for an old man... I need some help here...I'm att he painting stage of my Fw.190G-2 and the instructions call out for RLM 02/70/74 for the mottle on the fuselage. Is that correct? Does anyone have photo's that show what this looks like? I've been burned by ProModeller paint call outs before and this time will be sure before I apply the paint...

Guy---I see you are proceeding on your usual leisurely pace.  The photo and comments about the wings are helpful because I may build an Eduard D11/13 for my second for this GB.

All who expressed sympathy--TCP reports the new A head is enroute.  It should arrive in time to let me finish the Ta152 this weekend.

Hey all, not a lot to report so far. Ive got the fuze together and the wings on. Eduard have really made getting the wings on a trial. Ive now done it twice, with the 190D and this one and geez, theyre not wrong when they say this can be tricky. Ive had to trim some of the inners a fair bit in order to get the wings together any fashion. Also another biggy is the top part of the engine bulkhead (Small triangular bit) There is no positive locations for this bit at al. Luckilly im building it closed up again. Im sure there is a way to build these sweetly, but im beggared if i can find it LOL.

Anyhoo, pics,

I must admit, the positive 'Click' you get when the wing snaps in place, is just lovely,

arki30- When I first looked at the photo, I thought it was the Tamiya kit.  Amazing how similar the Hasegawa kit and Tamiya look as far as breakdown etc.  Looking good!

They are very similar.  Hasegawa's cowling is much more complicated in assembly however.  Or I seem to recall Tamiya's cowling was simpler.

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

1/48 Revell F-14D

Clebode (Can I call you Hugh?) Saw your name at the bottom of your sig line, OK to call you by your first name?  Bummer about the AB, hope you get it sorted out soon so we can see some finished photos!

Frank--Please call me Hugh if you like.  The AB just needs a part and TCP/Badger delivers in 3-4 days.  I should be done this coming weekend.  Just the exhaust stains, minor weathering and the antenna wire left.  Nav lights, pitot and belly antennas are on.

Mike (Luftwaffle)- Looks like you are making major headway now, well done!  Thanks for the reference photo too, have never seen one showing a good view of the hook for the W.Gr.21's before.  Interested too in those brass barrels, trying to source some for my Spitfire right now but everyone is out of stock!

SC, hopefully your modelling buddy will come back!!!!Sad

Unfortunately Richie it's pretty much a given once they have been gone more than 48 hours you have about a 1% chance of even seening them agian around here. Alot of wooded areas and lots of other critters wandering around. It seriously bummed me out all last week. He was hand rasied by me from when he was only about 5 weeks old. He was 8 years old and the second best animal I ever owned. Only my pet wolf was better.
