That's a great idea, I take it the line was not a mono-filiment? I don't do any fishing, a big truck used to bring all my fish...I'ld just fillet them, never caught 'em....lol...anything that doesn't require super-glue is an option for me.

Bocks, that little stainless ruler showed up years ago needing a home. I still don't remember where it came from. It is probably third on the tools hierarchy behind the knife and tweezer, it's been so useful. As for the pull rings, I was going to roll mine from wire. It'll keep a consistent circumference, and would hold it's shape really well. Speakin' of MiG's, maybe we can do a "Phantom Fodder" build next year

Well.  This week has not been a good one.  Thanks to a screw-up which is going to take months to fix, we won't be buying a house anytime soon...  I hate how credit reporting agencies will never admit they made a mistake, and are slow as molasses to fix something they messed up and don't seem to care how badly is messes up someone's life.  And on the modeling front, We have had a major setback on all of the phantoms.  I used a smooth bead of Zap A Gap medium (Green label) and it looked great for 2 days, then something happened to it because for some unknown reason it puffed up and became bubbly.  So now I have to completely strip the bead out and resand and refill it with modeling putty or something else.  I don't know iof it was just a bad bottle or what, but it's going to add a lot more work on aall of the kits my Daughter and I are working on.  I had the same problem with 2 of my builds for the P38 build as well.  Luckily my Mosquito for the last entry in the Monogram Mafia build is ok, as is my F102 for the wild wings build.   I hadn't filled the gap on either one of them yet.  And I haven't even had a chance to start my Ho229 or my BF110 kits.

What really ticks me is we were pre-approved, we had spent 6 months looking for a house, finally found one, then when we made an offer, the poop hit the propeller.  We called the credit bureaus and they had this smug "so what" attitude...  Now we are stuck in a 14x72 foot mobile home with bad electrical, falling apart floors, and severe water damage; nd there is absolutely nothing we can do to fix it...  The Zap A Gap is basically a CA glue, especially formulated for gap  filling applications.  I plan on writing a choicely worded letter to the manufacturer.

Never in US history have the banks been so retentive about lending and the credit bureau's will hang up a deal for a mislaid dollar. I can't get into p*l*t*cs, so that's about all that is appropriate to say. It's not your guy's fault, but you have to wear it and bear the hardship, and there really isn't a whole lot you can do about it within your time frame. 

You are in our thoughts, so much plop has hit the blades recently I wonder how people get through it without all of their hair being voluntarily pulled out in frustration.

I got the results from the biopsy and it isn't good.  My doctor told me it is cancer, a fast growing, fast spreading, very dangerious type.  I got the results Thursday afternoon.  I had my pre-op Friday and will have the mass removed from my neck Monday morning.  I go see my chemo doctor on Wednesday to discuss my options.

Oh Berny.  I am so terribly sorry to hear that.  There are no words to describe how bad I feel for you.  I sincerely hope that it can be stopped.  I was hoping that since we did not hear back from you right away that it was because you were celebrating good news.  I can hardly type this because I am so upset.  I wish there was something I could do to help.

Just back from a day away and I'm so sorry to hear the bad news on the board. Rich -- that's such a mean trick for them to play, it makes me see red. I hope the problem can be sorted soon and a new place comes along, you all sure deserve it. Berny -- I'm so dang sorry to hear that, and I think I speak for everyone here when I say you're in our thoughts and prayers, and that we're pulling for a completely effective treatment regimen that'll stop this thing in its tracks. I watched my Dad go through cancer many years ago, so have an inkling of what it's about.

Glenn, nice looking Phantom.  You are right about the wing tanks.  It does look like they are pointing down too much.  It could be just the photograph but it looks like the tank pylon isn't the proper shape.  If you need a set of proper tanks I have a box full in 1/48 scale 370's, so I can send you a set if you want them.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.  The doctor wanted to do surgery Friday but the wife was still away to training.  She wasn't due back until Saturday but the class had only a half day Friday so the group cought a late flight and came home Friday.  Due to bad weather her flight was delayed and by the time it landed here they went on a weather hold due to lightning and couldn't off load the baggage.  I had to break the news to her on the drive home.  What a way to spend our anniversary. 

I plan on winning this battle.  I won the last one and have been free of lung cancer for five and a half years.  It is necessary to remove this one because it can spread to other parts of the body.  I am going to be around for many years to come. 

Berny.  I am so sorry..  I hope they can get it all.  On the positive side, treatments for Cancer have vastly improved in the last 10 years.  Now they have stuff like that directed radiation treatment and better Chemo.  We're all wishing you the best of luck.  Keep us posted as much as you can.

I put my shelves up, sorted my paint, and placed them on the shelves.  Here is a couple of pictures:

I have a lot more room now on my bench and finding the color and type of paint will be a breeze.  Very much worth the effort.

The only thing I've got more of than you is Alclad, I have about a half pint of aluminum and black lacquer. That's about 6 reasons my desk is such a mess!

Thanks, Berny. I knew when I put those bad boys on that they weren't right, still better than what came in the Revell box, but not 100%. Quick fix will be to saw a diagonal at the top of the pylon mount to get the noses up. Kit bashing quandries!

Listen, I'll be praying for you. My father-in-law is in the midst of fighting cancer himself, and it's been hard to watch him go through it. We're still holding out for a remission, and I hope yours goes away speedily. Take care!

And some Testors hobby 1/2 oz. bottles, Tamiya paints, Gunze Sangyo paints, and other assorted toxic chemicals. Plus my decal stash sorted in boxes above.

Then just to the left of my work 'nook' :

Here are my model RR paints and other chemicals, such as glues, setting solutions, acrylic thinners and cleaners, etc. Above my work space is part of my stash. The closet to the left hold much more in the way of model kits and model RR supplies.

Just one more:

Along the top shelf on the right are automotive paints, (yes I dabbled in cars but came back to planes-same thing with the railroad models). The top shelf on the left is mostly extra and duplicated supplies of paints. All the little labels were created on my computer, cut out and glued in place. That was to help me quit buying duplicated bottles. The little red dots denote which have back-up supplies.

Not shown is a small shelf inside my work space that holds my hoarded (and dwindling) collection of Floquil Military Enamels.

Mississippivol; I would have to agree that those tanks do look like they droop too far down. I think they do point down a bit, but not that much.

Man... Jimbot..  My hat is off to you sir.  I wish I had the room to be that organized...  Although my wife bought me some more plastic drawer units and a couple more plastic bins to put misc stuff in and the big one holds all of my paints in three drawers..  I don't have nearly as many as you do.
