Have Gun Will Travel: SP Artillery GB 2011
...is go! All units may advance from the start line!
After another recent round of discussion, the scope of this build has been defined as tube artillery or multi-tube rocket batteries on tracked or wheeled chassis, as distinct from anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns or missile carriers. That means the range includes, among many:
- US M7, M40, M57, M107, M108, M109, M110, M2001 etc.; Sherman Caliope
- British AS-90/Braveheart
- Korean K-9 Thunder
- Russian/Soviet M1974, 2S6 etc.; any variant of Katyusha
- Chinese Type 83 SPG; 122mm MBRL
- German/French GIAT GCT on Leopard or AMX-30 chassis
- German StuH 42, Sturer Emil, Tiger Geschutzwagen etc.; anything with a Panzerwerfer
This is a tiny sampling of qualifying types. Some may say this is too loose a definition but there's plenty of interesting subjects within this grouping, anything from a rocket battery on the back of a truck to a super-heavy tracked nuclear gun of 50s vintage.
Any kit, any scale, OOB or AM, started builds welcome, crossovers welcome.
Timing: January 1st - June 31st 2011.
