Satch, you are really making those old warbirds shine! Great job; looking forward to your finished works.  My Monograms with folding wings never looked anywhere that good.....of course, that was when I first built them a hundred years ago!

Really cool build, Vetteman!  The contrasting panels and materials really add a lot of interest to the plane.  Thanks for showing the finished product.  Looks like the Streak Eagle is getting ready to make it's first VSTOL take off; yet another record to set!

Ok,, camo is done, and I've begun sanduing the top coats to reveal the preshading underneath..

I tried to follow FSM's article 2 mags ago, how to weather raised panel lines. The first few pics are the completed camo.. then the progression to the sanded finish, I used 1000grit..

Overall, I like how it worked,, my advice, it works the best on single color applications.. the top colors with each camo color sprayed over each other... the black line coloring didn;t come thru... but the underlying camo color did..

That's a fine looking Hun, P38! Back the old camera out a little so we can see the whole bird. When you first applied the camo w/o masks, I was wondering...but now I see your method. Very nice.

Finally getting some work done on my birds for this GB - cracked into an F-5 a few days ago, flying through the build so far. Only major issue is the big seam between the upper and lower fuselage halves. Other than that, it's a sweet fitting kit.

Once I figure out how to get some pics from my phone to my laptop to photobucket to here in a timely manner, I'll be sure to post some!

Nav, you gotta have your pictures hosted at an on-line hosting site, like photobucket or image shack. Once that's accomplished, open your pics and left-click on the picture's thumbnail.  Once it's enlarged to it's full size, then right-click on the photo and a box will open. Select "Properties".  Another box will open, then highlight by left-clicking and dragging, and then select "copy" by right-clicking. Then select "OK".

Then, open a reply window here, and click on the little filmstrip icon at the top of the window, then paste the URL you copied into the box that reads "Insert Media". Then click on "Insert".  Your picture should then appear in the reply window..

EDIT: Never mind.. Looks like you got it fingered out...

Jeez, I crack myself up...

I got so excited about the pics, I forgot to tell everyone what I did. I used Krylon Catalina Mist spray for the underside and Testors dark green and OD green in the square bottles. For the RLM02 interior I'm using flat grey. I also built up the sides of the cockpit middle with thin balsa from a broken glider. Like I said, old school. Next up is some Q-tip mottling, paint the cockpit, put it together, and some weathering.

Satch_ip that is one fine pair of Navy Birds man I don't know why they weren't icons of the Navy war birds of WWII after watching Enterprise Battle 360 on the History Channel.

Don Hans von Hammer I wish to show my respect and humbly present you with finished pictures of the 1/48 Monogram F-15A Streak Eagle. I do hope it receives your approval.

I have to say this model as all NMF builds are really hard to photograph, the best pictures I got were in natural light.

For the weathering I tried water color washes and pastels, didnt like the effect at all, so then I tried Talon powders. They worked great ! I used aluminum, steel, and a custom mix that Garald  sent me, that custom mix by the way worked the best and I hope he can remember what he used to make it, because I plan to order more. I am quite pleased with this build and I really need to thank Gamera for the decals he sent me for it.

All you made guys gotta remember to be ready to whack anyone who trashes a Monogram kit, now that you know that they're great its in the hands of someone like yourselves, someone that doesn't rely on the manufacturer to do everything except glue the damn things together...

Youse guys also know that a $50-100.00 kit doesn't make you a better modeler... The only thing that makes you a better modeler is what y'all did and are doing here, building kits from the days when it took a MODELER to make a winner, and not a fat wallet..

Now youse clowns, get back to work... Does double for you mugs dat're still at the gate...

I worked on the rear skin to give it that distressed look,, a recent Scale Avaition Modeler mag had the 1/32 HUN in it,, I am "borrowing" that modelers technique..

I've been lurking this one gang, great work all around.

I don't care what they wear... As long as it's Armani.. (Wonder if they make flightsuits and jackets?)

But if someone upsets any of them, they might get that someone a pair of  proper-fitted cement overshoes, lol...

No Problem here.  The Panther isn't my best work, but it's good enough for public view I guess.  I am hoping the Mosquito will come out as well or better.
