Italeri makes a 1/35 towable nebelwerfer.

Verlinden makes a 120mm one I think. Anyone with too much money keen to go 1/16! Wink [;)] Perhaps with a kubelwagen...

Not I, but I would like to participate, these group builds sound like fun... does everyone share at the end?

Larry, I like the Russian traktor with 210mm, those things are just weird. I Remember seeing them in the Battle of Berlin leveling buildings.

Count on me. I just need to get that AFV Pak88 that I saw, only problem is I'm not sure it is released as of yet. If anyone knows if it has, please notify me.

ARMOR - Towed Gun Group Build (ends 7/1/04)
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 26, 2004 11:18 PM
Here's a new idea for a group build -- a towed gun build. This can be with or without figures, with or without transport. The gun should be circa 1900+, preferably, so that it's roughly in line with the "Armor" period of the forum.

Any scale! Any nationality! Hopefully the unusual suspect will lead to more unusual items like "small wars" artillery (Caucasus, the recent Balkans Wars, etc.) or Italian or Japanese artillery.

To keep the theme in line, here are some restrictions:

1) No SPA
2) No railguns
3) No fixed guns (fortress guns, ship's guns, etc.)

The "gun" can be AAA, howitzer, field gun, anti-tank, etc.. For missles, let's draw the line at "gunlike" tube-fired missles like Nebelwerfers instead of things like Scuds.

The transport can be any kind of truck or other prime mover, jeep or whatever pulled a gun. Having a tank or other AFV pull it is cheating! Smile [:)]

Duration: Let's start on April 1 and end on July 1. This puts it comfortably after the Sherman build.

I haven't decided what I'll do yet. Candidates are ICM's 100mm gun plus Serbian truck for Kossovo (fighter bomber bait!), or a Russian WWII traktor plus 210mm gun, those funky giant guns with the treads.

But there are so many nice gun models and so many great transports, it's going to be hard to choose. I guess the classic choice is 88mm plus SdKfz 7, but why be a classic when you can be an innovator?

Happy modeling.
