That looks like the color of (forget the name) of the guy whom just finished one. I thought t was cool, but he did the flaps and tail in grey. 

I have one in  my stash and was thinking all grey, but I really liked the amber or whatever he called it.

Ohhh, I really like that one, I may be up for that challenge! I was thinking grey scheme as well, however for the GB if you are doing grey, I may go green.  I'm still up in the air with what I want to do as of now. Here is my progress on my Val.

Connor applied the salt and away we went,the effect is a little more aggressive than usual but we're rolling with it. I'm geussing it was due to me not using Kosher salt this time. The sea salt crystals are much finer.

Reasoned: ACK! Glad you said almost. I hate masking canopies most of all. I think the pre-cut masks are insanely over-priced but I hate to cut my own so much I'm willing to cough up the cash for them if Eduard makes one that fits the model.

Alright - it's not much, but I'm officially underway on the George. Interior green is a FICE (F- It, Close Enough) mix matched to images of N1K1 cockpits using the old eyeball. Tamiya Flat Green + Olive Green + Cockpit Green.

Elsewhere, the IP got its gauge decal last night, and a dose of Solvaset this morning. 

Not as fast as Trey's tearing through his floaty version, but hey, progress!

So I've got most of the underside assembly done, aside from the payload.  Next will be some more cockpit pieces once they're dry and then I think I can start painting.  I just received the paints in the mail so I should be good to go!

That was an interesting photo. Next time I'll have to watch on my computer and not my phone.

Gamera: Thanks, she is doing much better, still a little sore but much better, makes a big difference when it's 70 degrees and mid March to boot!  Hey, if someone plopped a mask @ $15 in front of me now I'd be tempted................. eh, that's the easy way out.

Doogs: Seems like there are all sorts of interpretations of the Jap interior green, some call it "bamboo green", I guess because it has a little yellowish-khaki look to it.  In fact, seems like there is a lot more unkowns of Jap int/ext colors, not sure if it's because there were few if any examples left from war of both planes..... and crew!

Reasoned, honeslly dunno so much about the video, but seems from some propaganda of the time. Just found during watching video from my phone surfing. The quality is really fine for the period and some jill detail stealing is possible

Thanks! Two things - first, the color balance on the iPhone is a bit off. Second, the color I found looked to me something like a yellower shade of Dull Dark Green, or maybe a halfway between that and Interior Green. If that makes sense.

I'm not totally sure if the paint Japanese companies didn't vary a little toward more yellow or blue and how dark they were. What you've got there looks right to me even if a little off in the photo.

And thanks for the link, that seems exactly what he's looking for.

I use Fickr, so it has to easy.

Back to that video, I think of all the different aviators during WWII: fighters, strat bombers, recon, etc... naval torpedo (and to some extent dive bombers) had to be the most dangerous, what with all those guns blasting at you, fighter cover coming down on you and flying low and slow with a ton of high explosives under you........... ain't no flippin way.
