Scorpiomikey

sky overall was a common scheme for this bird. some wore dk. sea gray overall with sky bottom.

i think the early ones had an overall dk. sea gray fuselage.

i'll proble need to build two more. such an awesome kit to build. i want to do the overall sky fuselage and dk sea gray/dk slate camo version also. freight dog has a nice decal sheet. the special hobby seafire 15 will look nice sat next to this.

Looking good!

As for my Puma, I am hoping to get some paint on this week, and then I just got a 1/72 Airfix Canberra. I will however not have time to enter it in this GB.

i compared both the MM and tamiya sky and tamiya is a bit darker. i used a little white to tone it down. very very close now. tamiya has a tendency to either be to dark or to light.

when it comes to enamels, MM is best hands down. only enamels i'll use. heard humbrol enamels are great also but never tried them. no point since MM enamel works for me and is easy to get a hold of.

update. hit with TS-13 then started on the decals. will upload the pic tomorrow. em i the only one building the seafire 17?

The MM enamels are good to use? We dont get them so much here but finding a good RAF sky is quite hard. The Tamiya variant just isnt quite right.

Yeah, but you can line up a bunch of USN WW2 birds and they all look subtly different. So if you stuff the camo up a tad, no-ones gonna notice. But RAF. Its so precise im surprised no-ones come out with downloadable spray templates.

Any spitfire. For some reason i just find most RAF aircraft kinda boring. I think its because theyre all painted exactly the same.
