Hmm… I'll think about it. I rarely buy stuff online though.

My bad. Should have explained. Not sure what its like pricewise in your neck of the woods. But 2 A4 sheets costs me about $25 NZD including shipping. So its a tad expensive for masking material. But its amazingly good.
I like the look of the Stuka. Good job.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
the real red baronSorry, I don't know what BMF is? (I probably sound stupid).
Not at all - "Bare Metal Foil."
Sorry, I don't know what BMF is? (I probably sound stupid).
Use some BMF. Cover the whole thing then cut out the frames. Less work.
Vance - No, I've already added some scratch built detail. You won't be able to see much through those thick airfix canopies. It's just the masking that's slowing me down… 3 out of a billion squares masked. I don't suppose anyone has some pre-cut masks? :P
Well I got the flat coat on the stuka last night. I have to say that I really am hesitant to weather it up any at all. I really like the way the paint came out. The only issue is the decals are really brite. I am thinking about hitting the whole thing with some Mig filter and leaving it alone.
Looking forward to your BV141 - I've got one in the stash. Are you filling it up with the included pilot-like pieces??!
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
Starting the BV 141.
I really do like this plane. It out-performed the FW-189 overall and gave a much clearer vision. Also the assymetry of the plane countered the torque from the propellor! Making it a very pleasant aircraft to fly.
The masking of the canopy will be a pain :(
Thanks Scorpiomikey! Sorry for the crappy picture...just want to post someting to show progress. Next up is the weathering and finish.
Thats looking real good. You have done an exceptional job.
VanceCrozier Yes, I have been ridiculously absent! Started masking all the glass in my Heinkel, fiddly bits & landing gear hopefully set up shortly. Don't remember if I posted pics with decals on already???

Does it matter? Post pics anyway lol.
Everybody should post pics of their current progress. Even if its just a box. I should post pics of how mine looks at the moment. Its not pretty. It was a victim of an earthquake.
Scorpiomikey Sounds like the construction process too. Learn new swear words and how to pray in the same day. Hows she looking? Do we get to see?

It looks real shiny and colorful with all that color on it. LOL I will take some pictures and post them up.
Hercmech Got all the decals on her. Typical crappy Airfix ones didn't play well...lots of swearing and hope

Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
I look forward to seeing it finished.
I will be using the kit decals except for the swastika...which it does not have them. The last time I used Airfix decals the color melted with the decal solvent.
Looking good Hercmech i will have some photos of mine up in a few days are you using the kit decals interested to see how they go on.
