I'm so bad. I apologize to all that have created badges. I stuck my nose into them and kind of personalized them to my own ideas. I want all to continue to put your own ideas forward. I will for now on remain neutral, like Switzerland. Big Smile

Sorry Eric, but you are the host of this GB....thats why every one is asking you.... : )   how about this idea... all the badge submissions go to a subfolder or post where they can be displayed... at the appropriate time, after all submissions, the members will vote... no pressure on you... submit your best.. the voting will do the rest !

Hey guys,

I found this image:

http://www.guy-sports.com/fun_pictures/ww2c.jpg

I thought it seemed to fit the badge ideas I'd seen batted around. Anyone want to dress it up and see if it can be made into an acceptable badge?

That looks good !

No, sorry if I was sounding rude, but just wanted you to be aware of it. Normally spelling in a post doesn't bother me, but I just feel if it's in our badge, then I'd prefer it to be correct. Wink

Eric - Yeah, you kinda wonder why Bronco didn't include indies in the kit as an option.  The kit cost was pretty low, maybe Bronco decided to keep the kit cost low by leaving the indies out?

Darren- I know I read two reviews both stating the same thing about the vinyl tracks being too short.  One bulder relocated the idlers at the rear 2 mm forward to compensate for the short tracks!  That's too much work for me so I opted for the indies!!

Tim - I actually thought that same thing!   Bronco sells a kit for relatively low cost, but with problematic track!  But hey!  They sell a set of indy links that solves the track problem...for the low cost of $8 US (not counting shipping from Hong Kong)!!   Hmmmmm......Huh?

Hey bbrowniii I love your Avatar, I have that one pinned up at work it's brilliant "Those were the droids you're looking for".

Darson

Yeah, a friend of mine has it as a poster in his office.

The thing is, a lot (most?) of the people who see it don't get it!!! What is this world coming to??? Surprise

 bufflehead:

Yay, the real Treadwell is back!

I haven't been keeping track of things in the GB yet, but I had to stop by and post this:

My kit for this build arrived from LuckyModel!!

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa263/bufflehead5/Bronco%20A13%20MK%20I%20%20Cruiser%20Mark%20III/DSCN3861.jpg

I read some reviews that said that the kit's vinyl tracks are a bit short, so I decided to also order the Bronco indy links for the kit!

Ernest a friend of mine has built that kit and the only problem hed had with it was the length of vinyl tracks, they were simply too short for the kit and bow the wheels in.  The indies you've got will completely address this problem.

You got to wonder if Bronco screwed up the vinyl tracks on purpose to help sell more of their aftermarket tracks?

I am finishing up a M7 Priest and looking forward to starting this GB on Sunday. We should get a lot of starting post that day.

 castelnuovo:

Gentlemen,

It seems that I will have to drop out of this GB Sad. When I opened the box I noticed that my Krupp has markings for Ukraine and Baltic states and nothing for the Western Europe.

Boo HooBoo Hoo

Hold the phone there castelnuovo, the markings you have in that kit include the 87th Infantry Division which was part of Army Group A, VIII Corps, which in fact lead the German victory parade through Paris and definitely saw action in the west.

Also the 1st Mountain Division was stationed in the German Ardennes region and saw action in 1940 during the French campiagn.

I think it would be highly unlikely the markings for either the units and their vehicles would have changed much in the couple of months elapsed from the battle of France to the periods stated in the Tamiya instructions.

Thanks darson Yes, you are quite right. So, I'll stay SmileSmile

Cheers...

Kind of sad your kit didn't come with the indies Ernest. It doesn't look like their is any real sag on her, but I do agree that the indies are probably better detailed.

The "ambulance" looks like a standard kleiner Befehls I-B with a red cross pennant added to the aerial and a red cross emblem added to the hull side. There wasn't a specific variant created for that purpose and for 1940 the scheme it "should" have is the same as a standard Befehls...panzer gray and dark brown, so what the color plate depicts is partially suspect IMHO.

Thanks for your info also Yes I'll do some more research and see what it could of looked like as far as placement of the red cosses . This was probably a temporary battlefield use of the Pz.1 .Yhought it would be an interesting variation of the marking .

Carl / wBill.....

That ambulance version lists as - Sanistaswagen Panzerbefehiswagen I Ausf. B  4th Panzer Division, France 1940

Sounds about right to me,,  but I'll defer to wBill's knowledge.........

Thanks for the info .Yes

Modeler, you're getting close. Blitzkrieg needs the "i" after the "r".  My apologies for getting picky here, but perhaps reduce the font of the date, such that the 'r" in March can be changed to white and make the .1. white also. Maybe add a black outline to that whole line so the red doesn't run into the red. Perhaps add German flags to the left and the right. Can you make lightning bolts like Carl did in place of the arrows? I liked that idea.

Sorry to be so picky. I wish I was at my old job and had photoshop. Grrrrrrr.

I think you're onto something with this.
