Shellback

Tread , The auto body work must be tough on the body overall . Never thought about b4. What with the paaint fumes , sanding dust and repetition of movements . Being older doesnt help either does it . I'm 66 now and after a days work i feel it , but nothing like what you are going thru . Take care friend .

Hey my friend  :  )

yeah man.. I am gonna be 60 in a couple of months.. a 9 and a half hour day ,sanding and painting  ( I am the senior painter in our shop)  .. lunch on the run if I take one at all... and constantly competing with guys less than half my age is taking it's obvious toll...been thinking of going to truck driving school.. me and my wife... we could be together and share the load... I would love to do long haul cross country driving..as long as Patty is with me : )

Thanks for your concern Shell :  )  .... lets get back to modeling!   it is so much more uplifting !

thanks Shell

Thanks Jean. That should be something different. I'm about as ignorant about French planes as I am about their armor.

OUTSTANDING choice. I love GBs that are so broad that they include a bunch of different types of models. We got a good start on armor and now the aircraft section is growing too!

That's great news Tread although sorry to here your hand swells up like that, it must really restrict your modeling.

Here is a link that has walk arounds of all the tanks the group is building.  Has FRENCH, BRITISH, GERMAN, and others.  http://maquettegarden.free.fr/index.html

For those of you that cant read French: Left hand side click PHOTOS & VIDEOS, then ECHELLE 1, then MATERIELS 39/45.  Have fun Stick out tongue

Tread, that is good news to know what it is and no surgery.  Yes take it easy, don't interfere with the tank building!

Did someone say start building Big Smile

Good to hear Tread, amazing how much we take our health for granted till for some reason we don't have it. Not sure there's much you can do without the use of your hand other than watch TV. It's hard to even read a book if you have trouble holding it and turning pages.

Some good news on a personal note.... I don't need surgery on my hand at this point..Ya hoo!

Rob, my hand was injured at work about a year and some months ago.. the MRI shows I have a severe inflammation and anomalies  of the hand muscle that controls my index and middle finger ... causes my hand to swell like a baseball mit and constant severe pain...also lose the use of those fingers... don't know how its gonna get fixed yet, but now we know what is wrong .... at least I am covered under workmens comp.....

I already missed 18 weeks this year to get my shoulder rebuilt ... I guess I ain't gettin any younger LOL... I just gotta take it easy at work so it doesn't interfere with my tank building abilityWhistling

I was teasing half jest about Belgium and Britain. Yes, they were there as were the Dutch. Rotterdam got pretty beat up IIRC. If there is a way we could incorporate the flags, then great, otherwise we should go with perhaps the big three.

 Shellback:

Eric , along with the flags of France , Britain and Germany , would the Belgium flag be included ?

Hmm, did Belgium fight? Hmm Well, I guess I always thought of it as a two-horse race. I mean only 200,000 Brits compared to 5 million French. What about the Dutch?

I'm open to ideas.

I agree , was just asking . I thnk Germany and France are the two main countries that come to mind .But the British did fight and sadly got pushed out . I mean it was Germany that invaded France and Belgium was just ground to cross .

Yes the Dutch put up a small ground force and some where around 130 aircraft.  Almost all aircraft were wiped out in the first day and what was left on the ground retreated to Belgium.  The French arrived in Belgium at about the same time as the Dutch did.  All three armies put up a fight but  were all overrun and the remaining forces met up with the British in France beginning the battle of France.  The three primary players were the French, British, and Germans.

Tread - nice shot of the Somua.  Good to have the other side showing the hatch.  Thats good news about the Vulcan "British MK VI B" kit.  Hope to due it some justice.  What did you do to your hand?

You might be on to something Andy. German flag at the top and maybe a French one near the bottom or across the lower third of the picture.

I saw a great picture of German troops marching down the Champs Elysees towards the Arc De Triomphe.

Thanks Tread. personally, I think it looks better in person. I'm disappointed about the schurzen, because I think Pz IV's look cooler with them.

hey guys  .... about the badge.... I have no specific ideas, but I think all factions in the fight should be represented... British, German and French.... since France was the object of the blitz, it should figure predominately .... I do like the invasion flag and Rob's idea.

treadCool....

O.k. news flash........... mail just came.....I got my Lionmarc barrels !!   whooo hoooo!!Stick out tongue  man thjey look nice.. can see the rifling 75mm gun very clearly   whoooo hooooooBeer

Hey Rob  : )

This VULCAN VI B is all over the armor forums.... the reviews say it is the hottest new model since mustard on a hot dog.....exceptionally fantastic reviews on every part of it except, it being fairly complex, they wish there were more to the directions.  You picked a beaut!.... here is a link you might be interested in
