That Condor is pretty much the same size as this 1/32 Stuka ( I measured ), and this is an 8' high ceiling so it ought to fit nicely on a wall with some escorts...Bf109 and Fw190.

That Condor looks sweet, no matter what scale.  It has such nice lines for it's time.  At 37 cm x 45 cm, it'll have a presence.  It's a large tail-dragger, so you could hang it nose down on the wall if your ceiling is high enough...Smile

1/350 are little but one in 1/32.. (or two Hmm don't remember)

LOL

i'm fine with another two in 1/72 in future, an old A version to replace the old, and a double seater Wink

PS waiting two four engine bombers!! and other two in the stash (and already thinkin about the next!!! ) i'm not so good to talk about space occupier Big Smile

Heh..  I only have to worry about the large-ish ones- 24 are 1/350 scale so y'all need to get to building and claim them!

I'll worry about storage once I actually finish one....  sometime next year at this pace.Confused

I picked up a copy of, uhh, well... "a British modelling magazine that shall not be spoken of here" Whistling, they had a release note about a Flanker from Zvezda in 1/72, sounded like a new kit, but haven't checked around yet...

Did some Heinkel work last night, decals that I want to leave alone, so I should have some Flanker-ish updates tomorrow. (I've been working all the cockpits over the past couple days)

As long as you're staying busy and out of trouble!Wink

I haven't made any progress since the last update...  work keeps getting in the way of models.Bang Head

But...  the decals I placed in the window weeks ago to sun-bleach have been fading nicely, so the UV treatment does work!   A few more days and they'll be ready to use on the missiles.

Spotted that at while online in my iPod, couldn't add any text but was able to paste the link. I honestly don't NEED another Flanker.... but that Trumpeter kit is a 2-seater UB, with curves in all the right spot!  I'll have to keep my eyes open for a deal - if it's a good deal I can't pass it up, right?? Embarrassed

There are BOOKS? About painting?!?!?! Why has nobody told me about this before?!?!  Stick out tongue

I desperately try not to pour them at all, after stirring I usually transfer what I need by dunking the end of a paintbbrush or microbrush (ridges hold the paint a little longer). But I still manage to end up with a drip or two on the rim.

At age 15, it was pouring them out without making a mess that was problematic... still is, too.  Didn't know much about proper thinning then, either...   Amazing what one learns once they read the book....Indifferent

Funny, I never had any airbrushing problems with them. Well, nothing that couldn't be chalked up to "pilot error"...

I used some Humbrols as a kid and always wondered why they chose to use that stupid little tin...  great paint if thinned right but a total PITA for airbrushing.   After a few years of acrylics, I've been playing with enamels again and love them for their coverage.

I love those Humbrol enamels.... hate the bloody little tins they come in though.

Cool, what paints?

An assortment of humbrol blues and grays. I find their paints to be the absolute best I have ever used, hands down. For brushing, the brush strokes disappear. I prefer to brush paint unless it is a very large area like the hulls of my ships.

After a quick search, it seems that in 1/72 (my preferred scale for modern a/c), my option is a Heller kit for the mainstream gang...

Man, are there any "mainstream" kits of the two-seat UB version? It has beautiful lines as well, curves in all the right places! Big Smile

http://www.sukhoi.org/img/gallery/wallpaper/6.jpg

I just got a box o' paint in from my supply guy and I can get started in earnest on my UB. I plan to do the blue cammo, I have loved it ever since I first laid eyes on it. School lets out June 1 and I will have tons more time to get started, at least until August 15 when I have to go back to work...Super Angry

Hmmm - how about this pic, from the Sukhoi corporate website, definitely a blue-gray, with a bit of green. I wonder if they simply aren't all that fussy about the tint of the interior paint. Throw in some variations after x years of service....

Sukhoi does seem to like that baby blue, unlike that acidic bluish green I'm using in the Frogfoot.

Yes.... in 1/32!! Stick out tongue There ought to be plenty to chose from in the other scales as well- it's a popular aircraft.  Look for one of the aerobatic Russian Knights kits and use Am decals.  Lots of the kits are listed as "unavailable" though...

The UB's curves are what makes me prefer it over the B..  even if Trumpeter squashed the proportions.

Could be, could be...  I've found nothing that documents a cockpit color change during the production runs, but that doesn't prove that it didn't happen.   If you get into export/rebuilt for export airframes, then all bets are off.
