I had a little problem with a missing part:

So i scratched a little:

The line is a little different because the original has a thicker bend radius:

but it is only a few thousands difference. Sanding the original a wee bit, and bending the scratch part a wee bit, and you will have to go looking to see the difference at 10 feet away.

Jim: I hope things improve. Worst thing about getting old I've seen so far is to start to lose all those people you thought would be around forever when you're younger. Sad

How prophetic Cliff;

Neil Armstrong has passed.

Dom

Yeah, I didn't realize Armstrong was that old, gee time flies.

Just lost my favorite aunt Sunday morning and I'm feeling really depressed and irritable. Hopefully I'll be able to blow most of it out of my system by the end of the week, see ya'll then....

BTW: Great photo of Berny, should make a great badge.

My condolences Cliff:

Very sad to hear that news.

I lost a favourite aunt last year as well, never stop

missing the phone calls and visits.

All the best with it.

Hi Chris,

Very sorry to hear about your Aunt.  I know there are no words I can say that will make you feel better.  I am sure everyone here wishes you the best during this time of sorrow.

Hobby Shop Work 1/48 Douglas EA-3B SKYWARRIOR Resin Model Kit

it went for 365 $$.

Guys,

we want to put together an appropriate badge for the Build,

and we were thinking it should start with a great shot of Berny,

and the flag:

we'll put the titles to the right.

What do you say????

Sounds Great Dom.  Let me know what you want for it.  I can't buy it right now though, Debs B-day present is going to wipe out what little I have left until next month.

Rich:

I found the 1/00 Concorde and it's Heller.

It is beautiful, but the glass is in a separate pane

format and they are about 1/8th around.

Very slight non-issue warp on the bottom wing/fuselage

piece.

I haven't inventoried the kit. It is very detailed

with many engine parts.

If you want it let me know.

Ken;

I feel better nowAngryAngryAngryDevilIndifferentClownDunceSmile

other than shipping, I broke even.

Mind you, the F-90 would have been nice to instruct

for a bit of scratch on our Aurora kits.

Who knows, maybe meet that kit again one day.

Bockscar

Well;

I can't beat myself up too much for failing to acquire the F-86H Hog, or the F-90 Penatrator,

Here's the price from the old Collect-Aire site:

4831 1/48 North American F-107A          $149.95

and F-90:

4856         1/48         Lockheed F-90 Penatrator      $139.95

So the prices on those did not go up.

The Hog:

4818         1/48          F-86H Sabre                            $109.95!!!!!!

The winner prawley stoked around 300 buk$$$$

Wow Dom, I did not realize they were that expensive to begin with!  Yeah, I have the Aurora 1/48 F-90 as well so I will have to make do with that.  Of course a lot of people wish they had that kit so I guess we are ahead!

Rich:

any chance you can go digging around the old trailer location for those canopies???...lol..

I got the resin one, posted above. If I ever get the Trumpy I'll use it to

compare. There is a correction kit for the forward fuselage section of the Trumpy going

for about $40 right now, and it includes canopy.

I still haven't got over the Hog though, so far no 1/48 styrene,

and I looked it up, the Collect Aire is a great and accurate kit. It feels like I

lost my wallet in the subway....lol...uhh...did, sorta'......expensive night.

At some point back in the 60's, a Soviet spy handed the entire development package for the

Vigilante over to the Russians. They already had the Arrow and other US design materials for the XF-108 Rapier and the like. They gave us the MIG 25 for our efforts.

Um... Which Vigilante was the one you snagged?  I was going to bid on one but it got way out of my budget very quickly.

I won't be getting any new kits for a while anyways.  Deb's B-Day is coming up on 9/14 and I am trying to get her computer operational for her again so I am saving to get her a new CPU.

But after that, I a have some supplies I need to buy.  I am running out of a lot of my paints. lol

Rich

Bockscar

Funny thing Ken;

I had a feeling you would like that kit.

I bid the F-86H but in the last 5 seconds it jumped almost

75 dollars to 229, and got I

blown into the weeds. I thought I was going

to cry like a little girl for a second, then quickly

started feeling like pulling and Elvis.

There is good news though, tides of joy:

I regained enough composure and sniped the 1/48 Vigilante.

It was a toss up

for that or the F-90, but like them or not,

I have a 1/48 Aurora F-90, and no real good 1/48

Vigilantes out there.

Yikes! I had to go into the hole for that, but I'll never see

that Collect Aire stuff again. I knew I shouldn't be

bidding but I have fallen off the styrene wagon a bit.

I made a big mistake bidding on rare stuff: I usually look at the last price

with 20 seconds to go and multiply by 2 to get the base.

I forgot to multiply by 2 when the price went from about 113 to 145 so

I was trying to snipe out the 113 and not the 229 it went for.

I'll never see that recipe again, I tell ya. 1/48 Hog, I even had a place

on the shelf cut out for it......wahhh.....wahhhh......lol

If they were under the carpet then they are gone now.   The whole carpet and the mobile home they were in was scrapped.  I'll keep looking and see if I can find a parts lot or dead kit on eBay for ya.

I was one of the persons bidding on the F-90, but got out bid.  I couldn't afford to go any higher.  Nice kit, one you don't see very often.

No idea.  It's hard enough finding one, and I haven't seen any bagged builders in that scale.  I think there is a Heller kit, and the Entex kit.  But I haven't seen it in my budget range at all so far.

Bockscar

Aarff Aarff....

Maybe they would let it pass,

but i was being a bit nasty......

Yah never know, how far you can go.....

I wrote to Collect-Aire about 4 times,

they never replied, and now they are gone.......dang.....

yes, rare stuff.

What is a bagged 1/100 Concorde, bagged, no decals worth these days?

Eegads...  Nice kit, but kind of pricey.  Remember, I'm a member of the less than $20 club... lol   For that much, I could get the 1/100 scale Concorde I've been chasing, and have change left over for glue and paint.  Or the BSG original Viper kit.  Or even the 1/350 Bismark that I have on watched. lol..  Still it is kind of a rare kit.  Don't forget that that group of fighters is over in just under 2 days.

Why would they pull a review?

Sorry I haven't been on much.  Health issues are aggrivating me again.

I think I saw that one.  But I'm waiting for Battleship to come out on Blue Ray.  Looks OK, but it has Rhianna in it, and that gives it a somewhat higher rating.  Kind of like Erica Eliniac (sp) in that Segal Movie.. lol

Been finishing up the Viper model I'm almost done with.  Just detailing, decaling and gloss coating to do.

Bockscar

I took in the "Battle of Los Angeles" or something like that.

Yeah Dom, never really got the acronym either.

Big- yes

Ugly- well, not really. I wouldn't consider a B-52 the most beautiful plane ever but she ain't ugly.

Fat- Really big but not really fat- I wouldn't call a 6 foot 2 woman fat just tall.

Fellow- yes fellow, I won't use the other term here!
