i think you should set it aside and fix it up nice later. Looks great form what I can tell. (the second seat's canopy had a mirror on the top of the frame (outside the canopy) directly on the top center of the frame. you can use the extra mirrors provided in the kit (x2)

Thank you guys! And yes it's McCain's bird. I'm currently reading Faith of my Father by him and Mark Salter.
Great Skyhawk thus far; are you doing the one with John McCain's markings?

Hi tcepilot.....beautiful scooter you 've done!!Ciao Enrico...!!
Thanks! And oh trust me I'll let ya know ;) are you subscribed to FSM?
BTW I also got an e-mail from klambach publishing today saying that they might publish my P-40 in an issue or the reader gallery! Maybe...
Ok here she is as of now, just 2 more bombs to load and the tanks....
My A-4 is almost done I will get pics up soon.
Hase issued the toilet bomb with one of their reissues of their 72nd Spad. Hot Wheels made a "toilet car", and if memory serves me right, the toilet off of it might work for 1/48th. Hmm. I might have to go dig through my kids closet and check.
Cheers,
Greg

With a Navy Skyraider, you can use lots of older WWII type bombs becuase those were still being dropped by Skyraiders late in their carreer in Vietnam. But for an Air Force Skyraider, its more a case of the "exotic" ordinance. And aside from the Snakeye Mk.82s, Napalm cans, and 19 shot 2.75" rocket pods, in 1/48 the Hasegawa weapons set kits dont cover much of that. Minigun pods, CBU dispensers, 7 shot 2.75" rocket pods need to be found elsewhere.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

That's a helluva funny stunt! I need to find that hase weapons set...
Thanks for the info on the tanks; i kinda figured as much. Makes sense that they would napalm or something else on the hardpoint. One can never have too much death dealing goodies for the commies!
BTW I noticed the lighting was somewhat bad on some of my pics; I’ll fix that on the next batch.
Yep, take that charlie!!!!
mikeymize Also, while I'm at it here's a few pics from my entry in this GB. Nothing too fancy , no after-market stuff; rattle cans and brush only. The seams on the wing to fuselage join were a little rough but so far all else is manageable. I noticed on the box the fuel tanks are red but I'm sure this can't be right. Anyone know for sure what color they really were. I'm guessing standard boring grey. Enjoy!

tamiya 1/48 P-47D $25 + shipping
tamiya 1/48 mosquito $20+ shipping
hobby boss 1/48 F-105G. wings and fuselage cut from sprue. $40+ shipping.
Yup, there is photo of that floating around on the web somewhere...
I recall seeing a USN Skyraider with a toilet bomb on it! (toilet was filled with HE)
Professor thanks for the kind words, but I would not call myself an expert. Just well read on certain subjects. Those "fuel tanks" could be natural metal, or light gray, or dark green over light gray...
I did not use them on my Skyraider and instead put some Napalm cans there.
If you look at photos of Spads in Vietnam, they rarely carried fuel on those pylons anyways. Usually ordinance of some kind was carried there instead.
Actually, I personally love the smell of enamels along with Squadron putty, Tamiya thin cement and liquid primer. Not to get high off of but because they remind me of building models as a kid. Really!
acrylics just need a good prime to stick to. i hate the smell of enamels even thought i use them sometimes.
Go Prof go.....................!!!!Good work on the camo and decals....Ciao Enrico.
I also prefer enamels.
That being said, there was a forum member named sfcmac, Stikpusher remembers; actually his name was Aaron.
7 days minimum between color coats, Aaron did.
I always do that.
I highly recomend enamels, just build up a DIY spraybooth like I did for under $30.
Where did you get that fantastic decal sheet? And what paint do you use?
Professor your Phantom looks great!!
Scale Plastic Aircraft Modeler
Looks great Prof, like a real one.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
That is amazing work there!
Hi Prof....the washing with brown is better on WWII airplanes.....that was very dirty.....for modern may be appropriate a washing with Payne's gray or similar.......this'll useful for the next modern...!!!!Today I've glued the pilot office, air intake and at last I glued same piece's of sprue to get the optimal fitting between semifuselages...Ciao Enrico
Thanks Mike.....on another italian modeller site the guys have suggested me next time to apply a dark grey washing instead of brown one...........and I agree.......Ciao Enrico.
Just take the tape to glass a few times pushing n pulling it on n off and it will be less tacky, this is a FSM tip that was used on Alclad II, so I imagine you will be just fine.
