It should be close to the size of a B-25.... not that big. Good news for availability of an A3D in 1/48 finally, but too bad it will be from Trumpeter. It will be out of my price range. Now if Airfix or Revell would do it I am sure it would be far more affordable...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

Good kit.... with the recent cost increase by Tamiya, that probably is a good deal... depending upon shipping

Dude, step away from the bench put the hammer down and take a few deep breaths. It's nothing that a little super glu won't fix. Not every kit is an award winner.
Thanks, I got it under controll, I'm leaveing the phantom for a few days and starting my A-4.

You're in for a good few days reading there Ordie.... I could not put the book down when I read it.
Hey stik! I need your brains for this one, is it true that the gear doors and air brakes on MCcains A-4E '67 were red on the inside?
Inside the air brakes sounds kosher, but not sure about gear doors.
Look on this website for links to photos from teh Squadron to see if there are any pics to show one way or another. Usually on Navy aircraft it is just the edging of the gear doors.

Thanks Stik!
White but with red edges
I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and found the Revel 1/48 A-6E for under $20. I couldn't find any evidence that the E actually saw combat in Vietnam so I left it there. I think I will start out with the ESCI F-8 Crusader before I tackle the A-7 for this GB. After struggling with the Eduard Fw 190D, I need a simple kit.
Even if you cant use the A-6E for this GB, that is still a great buy.
You can use post war up to 5 years after
Are you talking 5 years after the US pullout in 1973 or 5 years after the fall of Saigon in 1975? In either case, the F-14A is a go because VF-1 and VF-2 flew top cover for the Saigon Embassy evacuation in their new F-14s.
the Pullout
I just had to add a hud, couldn't live without it! and filled!
ooh well cant wait to see the other camo color on!
It also came with John McCain's markings so that what I'm doing. and thank you!
