Nice, very nice! Love that finish.

Bill.

On the bench:  Lindberg 1/32 scale 1934 Ford Coupe and a few rescue projects.

In queue:  Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor or a scratch build project.

Thanks Flyitlikeyoustoleit,

Here's some progress on the 55 Cameo.

I got the cab primed last night.

I sprayed the first coat of paint. I'm using Model Master Artic Ice Metallic.

OK guys, I am calling this Porsche done!  Or better, Das Porsche ist kaput!  This little kit is an old tool and not really up to todays standards.  Should you want to build one, I would spend the extra $$ on a Fujimi or Tamiya kit for the build and avoid this one.  This one goes in the back of my display case as I am not real happy with this one, but I had fun!  That's the mission, right?  Here's a couple of pics, I'll post some of the 240 Z soon.

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.

Thanks, wheeler.  I thought about making that one a wall-banger!  I got a start on the 240-Z.  The little engine is the best part of the kit I think.  The details and engraving are really nice for a 41 year old tool. Here are some pics of the engine so far.  I'll post some pics of the chassis when I get some more mods done.

Lovely work Eric, that has come together very quickly, and looks fantastic. The purple flake is the perfect color for it. I've updated the build roster. You're hammering along on the Dodge now.

Damon - your coupe is really looking terrific.

Rommelkiste - i've updated the build roster with your Datsun. That's a kit I've always been interested in, great work on the engine. Which photo do you want me to use for the Porsche. It looks great, but it's hard work to bring these ancent kits up to recent standards, so I appreciate your point.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

I made quite a bit of progress on the 55 Cameo.

I'm using the wheels and tires that came on the 66 Nova. Since the axles are smaller on the truck, I had to make adapters out of sprue.

And here's after the adapters were installed.

Got the engine mounted in the frame and the wheels mounted.

Got the grille done. I used an alcohol and flat black paint wash to fillin the grille with an old ink refill needle. It took about 5 times filling and letting the alcohol to evaporate out and then wiping off the residue from the grille but it turned out good. :)

I test fitted the body to make sure the wheels didn't stick out. (Body is prepped for it's second coat of paint).

Also, here is a photo I printed to use as wood for the bed. I ordered some scale channel that I'm going to paint to same color as the body that will be laid over this.

Here's a side view of the wheels and engine.

Thanks for looking.

That's really impressive work Eric. I wish i could move mine along that quickly. I like your ideas for the wheel adaptors and the wood effect. it's really growing on me as an interesting little model.

cheers

Thanks, ew!  It was pointed out on ScaleAuto forum that the rear bumper decal had a problem with the spacing.  This was due to the decal tearing and I hadn't noticed.Bang Head  It's been fixed.

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble getting back to this GB. As some may know, I grew up building WW2 models (mostly airplanes) and now that I've gotten back to that, I have trouble focusing on the cars and trucks. there really isn't much to do on the Camaro, except put it together. I think the paint is on it pretty good. I just have to pick it up and look it over to see if I can put it together to finish it. . . . . .

Build Roster Updated Greg. Keep up the good work.

I've just done a count on the build roster. There are 6 completions so far, and 43 models entered. It's not even the half way mark, keep up the good work everyone !

If you're wondering about hosting a GB yourself, I can recommend it !

Cheers

Hi guys, got a few pics of the 240 Z progress.  In a dry fit of the chassis parts I found the kit roll bar is pretty much worthless.  It only stands about neck high to the driver seat when installed so I fabbed up a new one.  I also modified the dash to look more like the racing version.  The car assembled straight out of the kit sits high like a 4X4 so I am also modifying the suspension to look a little more like the real thing.  I will have pics of the mods in the next post.

Thats looking good again Rommelkiste. The suspension is a big one. If that's too high, the whole thing just doesn't look right.

Made a start on the Batmobile.

Removed some parts from the sprue, cleaned them up. Joined most of the body components, but still some cleanup required.

Removed the AMT/ERTL Chrome, and will refinish. At this point, there's still some junk on the parts, they need a good scrub. From what I can find on the net, the car was all black in the 1989 movie, and seemed to get some chrome parts in the later movies.

Cheers

rommelkiste,

The dash looks great. looking forward to seeing your mod on the roll cage.

Tony,

I think the Batmobile is going to look most excellent when it's finished.

I also have another kit to add. It is a AMT/ERTL 1969 Chevelle. My brother found this at a yard sell. Yep, the price on the box is 1 dollar. Everything is still in the bags. He and his wife frequent yard sales and he said he sees them all the time, so now I have him on the hunt hehehe.

Rommelkiste- how are you making the bends in your roll cages?   Hot water and cooling forms?

Dre, on the roll cage bends it depends on if I am using rod or tube, I use both.  usually the rod is just warmed in my hands by pulling it through my fingers and then bending to the shape I need.  The tube however, I use heat.  I have used candles and lighters.  The roll bars on the Porsche and the 240 Z is made from rod.  I have pic here of a chassis done with tube and heat.

The really impressive thing for me Rommelkiste, is that your roll cages are all square and true.

That's a nifty build vetteman!

I made a little progress so far.

Finished painting the cab and bed,

Now I just need to buff out the paint, and add the photo etch badges and shoot a coat of clear.

Also got the wood cut out for the bed and painted the rails

Thanks.
