Okay I finally was able to shoot some paint last night on the Half track and the Anti Tank Gun. I just now realized I didnt spray the (track) wheels. I'll just brush them.

Anyway here a few pics of my paint job

Well, then, it seems like there's an upside to everything--almost!

Been doing research on the "Midway" Enterprise, and have run into a lot of conflicting information--especially regarding her weaponry at that point and the placement thereof.

I think I have most of it sorted out, and once I get the pieces cleaned up and start assembling/painting, I will take some photos.

I'll need to kitbash both Tamiya's Enterprise and Hornet for the needed parts, and found the pieces to be loaded with ejector pin marks, in very inconvenient places.  Yesterday I managed to fill and sand in twelve of them, in the 5 inch gun tubs.

I went through a lot of sandpaper!

Hope everything goes well for you, Ken!

Thanks CMK. Yea I agree with the word "Almost"

Good Luck with your Enterprise. Question What ship was used in the movie, The Midway movie with Henry Fonda & Charleton Heston?

Anyone for some Hollywood trivia? I think this would make things more interesting here. Whoever gives the correct answers, asks the next question.

Did Henry Fonda ever play the bad guy? If so, What was the movie?

"Once Upon a Time in the West."  Henry Fonda was nasty!

As for "Midway," I think they recycled old WWII footage--though I may be wrong.

But there's also John Ford's Oscar winning "Battle of Midway" from 1942.  The original ship appeared there.

Although Jane might have thought him "the bad guy," at "Golden Pond!"

I had never seen Once upon a time in the west before a few months ago. but i found it at walmart and it looked good so I grabbed it.

Nah, I don't think it was too easy.  It took me a few minutes to recall the name, but it always stuck in my mind that Henry was soooo bad!  I've only seen it once, and that was more than 25 years ago.

What did you think of it, Ken--"Once Upon a Time," that is.  Henry was so nastily convincing, it took a while before I could watch him in another movie.

Since you requested it, here goes:

Who are the only two sisters to have both won the Oscar for "best actress?"

Good work, Gary!  Yeah, the sisters in question don't get along.  They are still with us today!

As for "Midway," I don't have the DVD, am divesting myself of tapes, and don't know where my VHS version of the movie is--so I can't say what ship if any portrayed Enterprise in full size.  Could be Lexington, Wayne.  John Ford's film shows aircraft taking off from CV-6.

On youtube, I found a partial video with Monte Markham and Chris George about to bomb the Imperial Fleet.  Behind him as backdrop is an obvious wartime film of Dauntlesses in formation.

www.youtube.com/watch

And the Japanese fleet sometimes appears to be composed of some models as well as some American carriers--again, wartime footage.

When the Dauntlesses attack, the footage includes some wartime views of Corsairs and even a Hellcat, I think.

Indeed:  hooray for Hollywood!!

I'm here everyone, At home  I mean. My Pancreas isn't bad enough to be hospitalized. Thank God.

Okay CMK - That question - I have no idea.

As for the Midway stand in for the Enterprise. I was thinking of the closing shot where Cmdr Rochefort asks Admiral Nimitz what Matt Garth would have thought of thier great victory. then they zoom in to show Adm Spruance up on the ship.

Nice to hear the good news Ken.

You know I haven't seen that movie in years. I remember my dad tacking me to the cinema to watch it. We arrived late and had missed the first 15 mins or so. So when it had ended, we stayed in and watched it all through again. Will have to add that to the collection.

Sorry for the long time between pics.  Here are the latest on the Batwing.  Should be finished soon now!  I did a little extra detailing on the wings themselves and finally got Mr. Keaton, aka Bruce, aka Batman finished.  Enjoy!

Sorry everyone, I spoke too soon. It wasn't my pancreas but the other day I couldn't do anything without getting extremely lightheaded and severe pain up my neck,

Well turns out my blood pressure was 89/59. So they kept me for a couple of days. Oh well I guess it was for the best. Anyhow, I'm home now and I'll get back to modeling tonight. HHmmmm Which one do i work on? any suggestion?

Nice dark and dangerous Batwing, Eagle.  The criminals must be quaking.

Ken, glad you're doing OK.  Blood pressure seems difficult to regulate sometimes.  Hope your's starts behaving soon.

Thank you checkmate!  The wing idea was actually something Bish sent me.  I think it turned out pretty well.
