maybe something stressful to raise your blood pressure. may i suggest a special hobby ME-264.JUST KIDDING. glad you're doing better. mine is just a tad high but a family history of heart disease has me treating it now when it's easy.

I'm calling her done!  I opted to not use the decals that came with the kit.  One, I didn't have any clue what they were (symbol wise) or what they were for, two, I thought it took away from the Batwing itself.  So I didn't use them.  I did dirty her up a little bit.  I mean after all, sitting around in a bat cave!  All in all it was a good kit.  You could do more than I did or less, so it is an overall good kit.  I have the Batmobile from the movie also in my "to trade" box, but I just might do that one too now.  Huh?

So here she is...(key Batman Movie music)......the BATWING!

Nice one, Eagle.  It looks great, especially with the Batman himself in the cockpit.  Very well done--sleek and even sinister!

Thank you sir for the kind words.  The Batman actually looks like Keaton to a point!  It was weird, I didn't do much with him, just the basics, but it was weird how it do look a lot like him.  Thanks again!

Looks great Eagle If you can take a pic from the same angle as pic #3 but pull back to get all the vehicle in the picture; I think that would be a great pic for the front page.

And again great job

I keep meaning to post in GB's I have joined, both ones I have yet to build for and ones I have completed, but it can be hard to keep track and you tend to concentrate on the ones your actually building for at the time. So far I haven't let any go yet, fingers crossed I won't have to.

GT, would a Befehlsjager (Marder III) work for this build. I have one ordered and I believe this is the vehicle that was in the bridge siege scenes near the end of Private Ryan? If so please include it.

That would be  Dragon Smart Kit (with over 1000 parts) in 1/35.

Thanks, Jibber.

Jibber, I assume you mean the vehicle that had a petrol bomb dropped onto it. That indeed is a Marder III, though I don't think it was a command vehicle. Though that would not be hard to sort out.

This vehicle was a Swedish Sav m/43 converted to look like a Marder III Ausf H.

I knew it was converted from something, but I wasn't sure what. Its a pretty good job they did on it.

They did a really great job converting them and I know the command vehicle has more communication gear but from the angle you can't see. All I seen was the back compartment blow up with a molotov cocktail and what appeared to be a Marder III. I thought the Tiger was well done but when I seen the tracks I knew it was all wrong.

I take it this won't qualify?

Jibber - Welcome aboard

I'm not the one to ask. German  Armor is one thing I've never done, actually i've never done any  armor.

Okay. I was just lookjing at google pics of Marder III Ausf H., Then I googled Swedish Sav m/43 Private ryan, and then i googled pics of Swedish Sav m/43

I can see the difference, But Like I said I'm not up on armor.

My opinion is if you can make it look like a converted Swedish Sav m/43 , That would be okay with me.

Let me know what you want to do

Let me look at it, but I couldn't tell there were any modifications done and I thought it WAS a Marder III until I was told different. I know the Tiger Tank was a repro only by the tracks, they did a great job with those vehicles and went to great lengths to make them authentic.

But there's a lot of vehicles that fall into this build, I'll pick another.

Thanks, Jibber.

With most of those German vehicles in SPR and Band of Brothers, its only really the running gear that gives things away, that's something they really could not alter. You only really see the Marder in the movie from above.

But from what I have read, the Sav m/43 was based on the same chassis as the marder III. And looking at photo's, I reckon you could just build it as it is.

Marder III

Sav m/43

Can you guys see any difference in the running gear. I can't.

Marder from the movie.

Frankly, the makers of the movie couldn't have picked a better vehicle to turn into a Marder. I don't think it would be any more accurate if they had had a real Marder, at least from the outside. I have checked the plans in Pz Tracts, and all the detail is there on the movie vehicle.

I would say do it out the box and you won't go wrong. Just leave out the Star Antenna and the radio on the right should be replaced by ammo racks on the real thing, though I can't see either oin the movie vehicle. They may have left all that empty as it can't really be seen anyway.

When I seen a Marder in SPR, I couldn't believe they went so far as to get a real one because unlike the Tiger, there are a very few Marders operational. Then I started thinking the owners wouldn't be very happy about the Molotov Cocktail, but all in all for the few glimpses it's showed, I bought in that it was real.

Bish I'm having trouble with TLD Build, I can't seem to reply. The Tiger will be tank 131, s PzAbt 101, Normandy, 1944. When I get back in, I'll post full shots of the LCVP.

Well, its as good as. Once you have the hull with running gear and engine, the rest is just sheets of metal.

Actually, there is only one operational Tiger I as far as I know. The one in the movie is based on a T-34 hull.

I'll send you a message over on the other build, not sure what the problem is.
