Hooray for Hollywood 2014 GB extended til July 4th

I think I'd be interested.  I have George Peppard's Pfalz hanging around somewhere from "The Blue Max."

The 86th Academy Awards will be on 2 March 2014.

Well....I guess I could finally build the M51 from The Big Red One.  Of course, there's also the Ford Mustang from the RoboCop series.  I already built the Taurus.

I was just thinking i haven't got anything that would fit this, then remebered all the star wars and star trek kits, so count me in. About time i built another Sci Fi kit.

While Ken is trying to sort things out, I will be helping out with the GB. Any new entries and completed build pics will be added here and then Ken will move them to the first post when he is able to.

Just found a report that says Oscars next year are 2nd March. Why not make the start date 2nd May, that would give a 10 month GB.

And i can't believe i just commited to yet another GB. I must be mad.

Same here Bish, But i went one step fuirther and started one, I've never hosted a GB before.

Let me know  what you'll be doing and what it will be starring in.

Don't worry, i am sure you will do fine. The main thing is to try and keep it going, even if it slows down a bit. Nothing is likely to kill a GB off more than if the host doesn't take part.

Now, you just need a badge.

you are mad. and so am i. i have Nationals up the road from me in august, 20 shelf queens and i just committed to canadian GB (GRIZZLEY 6x6), many props (maybe i'll finish the ME-264) and a possible police GB (MP 4x4 M1117)and japanese GB (JGSDF TYPE 96B 8x8. i have an FFG-7 in the queue. that would work for HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER or an AKULA SSN.

what GBs are you thinking of starting. i was thinking of a warwheels one, maybe just modern armor, maybe just all trucks, maybe just military wheels. hell i;ve ggot 30 of them in my stash including 2 SCUDs and 4 tank transporters. or maybe a choo-choo GB.

ok i'm in. i'm going with either 1/350 REUBEN JAMES FFG-57 or 688 boat DALLAS from red october . the soviet boat was an ALFA. i erred when i called it an AKULA. probably can't use it since it was computer generated in the movie. his name was V.K. KONOALOV. pity. let me know if i can because i found an ssn twofer.

or my 1/24 american 4-4-0 GENERAL from the great locomotive chase.

So, put me down for a 70mm Stormtrooper from Knight Models. And, your going to love this, a 1/72nd Imperial Probe Droid from Retro SF. This thing is tiny.

Well, with some hesitation, you can put me down also.  I have a 1/650th scale "USS Enterprise" from Star Trek I've been meaning to put together (nostalgia, as I had one back in 1968).  Perhaps this will give me the incentive to put her together.

This looks like a fun GB .

About three years ago I wanted to build a fleet of Air America aircraft and put together a few helicopters and a couple of fixed wing birds . However I wasn't happy with my efforts and scrapped all the helicopter builds and the only aircraft to survive was the 1/72 Mach 2 C-123B Provider .

I've since decided to use the kit decals on this first C-123 build and finish it as an early USAF Vietnam War hauler .

So I'll go with a fresh Mach 2 C-123 Provider for Air America . I found a site which has some nice stills from the film of different helicopters and aircraft ;

The May starting date suits me , unfortunately I slipped going down some stairs a couple of weeks ago and badly sprained my wrist and bruised my elbow . Thankfully nothing was broken but my arm did sweal up quite a bit and I haven't been able to do any scale modelling for the past two and a half weeks .... I'm now having serious plastic model with drawl symptoms . Anyway I'll watch the movie this weekend and see what other aircraft made it into the film .
