Ken:

Try this on for size. It's a small version for review.Smile

On the other hand, maybe I'll make my own...  LOL!

Feel free to tell me how stupid this is...

Its not stupid, I may not be one, but there are a lot of trekkies out there and in here. This way, everyone can have a choice of the badges. All you need now is the starting and ending dates.

Thank you for making up yours and helping with my badges. They both look good.

Nice work on the badges Gary. And if anyone says its stupid, they can tell it to the Klingon's.

Ken, i know its common practice, especially lately, but the badges doesn't have to have the date on it. They could just stay like that.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks, guys.  These are just preliminary, and I didn't mean for the Star Trek picture to be used as the group badge.  I just had this image lying around, and since I was planning on building the Enterprise... Hmm

Please make any suggestions about the Group Badge.  Looking at Greentracker's original image, I think I may put some space onto the image to place the title, as it now covers over Monroe's cleavage! Stick out tongue

Actually, if you have any images or suggestions that might make a Group Badge, now's the time to put it forward.  Any classic Hollywood image might do, such as an Oscar.

I have an idea about an image of Jedd Clampett from "The Beverly Hillbillies" saying "Wheee Doggie".  Clown

just goofing before heading to the bunker. started rereading THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER last night and remembered how exciting it was and all the anticipation. the first techno-thriller and the first (or second) novel published by USNI. makes me want to pull out HARPOON and start killing sovietskis in the north atlantic. RED STORM RISING is also a great read from the time.

Waynec,

Nice one!  I was thinking if anyone wanted a "special" group badge you could slap the "brass plate" (see image of Hollywood above) on an image and create your own.

I'll try to update the Group Badge images tonight (when I'm not spray painting) and maybe make some new ones for people to consider.  I need to find a film frame...

hi gary

i like the idea of using the brass tag and folks having a special background related to their build. maybe we have a "base" file and folks who want a special background can send you or i the photo file and we can build it for them. i used to do this with banners over at matrix games. plenty of flim strip graphics out there to choose from as a base.

i just finished cutting off all 4 hinges for the front doors on my truck, sanding, repositioning them, (instructions were vague) and attaching hinges and doors. tonight i will mask the windows and repaint that area. maybe i'll get the truck finished this weekend. sure learned a lot and have 14 more in the stash.

Hi everyone, Things are looking good here. I was totally wiped out last night Hence the reason for my absence. but I got a good nights sleep and feel pretty good today

I can leave the star trek badge or do away with it, It's up to every one else. Let me know.

BTW who is the guy next to Brando's right? Is that Jimmy Stewart? It looks like him, just sort of though.

Some people's looks change a lot when they get older, and others don't. My Dad's looks did. They printed an article in our newspaper during WW2 of the 9 in Dad's family (7 brothers, 1 cousin & 1 uncle) who were serving in the military then. And I had to look really close at Dad's picture to be sure it was him

Ken:

Glad you got some rest.

I would take the Star Trek badge down as it was just something I did for myself.  Not meant as a Group Badge.  You might go with Waynec's idea of using images from the relevant build's movies, TV and applying a Badge Name Plate to it.  You can use the one I did, or make one up.  Big Smile

The guy to the right of Brando is Spencer Tracy (young).  I remember him mostly from such films as "Northwest Passage" and "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo".  But that's him.

I heard he was flying B-17s. I don't know. I could be wrongHuh? LOL Okay Correction I think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoY8Cj1larg In this video, He talks about B-17s, but it's written on the screen at the end, that he flew over 20 mission as a command pilot of a B 24.

There was one time, I thought I was wrong, but, I was mistaken. LOL
