Just kidding! I won't order me any 190s untill all 5 in my stash are built...

I don't believe you!Surprise lol  I was planning on having my friend look for some when he left a few days ago.  I seem to have acquired some form of addition to FW190's.  maybe it's the unused decals I've got in the stash, or maybe it's the fact that I need to prefect my mottling, have to get that right.Angry

John

or maybe the piles on my bench aren't high enough.

I should get some updated photo's of the current 190A-8 I'm doing this weekend,  trying to finish up the decals.

Hi Clemens,

I've bought a Hobby Boss 1/72 Do 335A, so I don't have to go through the pain of building the old Dragon one. Could you change my entry please.

Thanks

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Rigidrider

Still collecting info and parts to do my build, I found a cool looking camo scheme I may try to do, but will likely be imaginative and will surely take many "artistic liberties" with this one, since so few actually made it into service. Thanks to Bish I was able to track down some pictures of the "blister' dome for the radar/weapons operator. This will have to be scratch built being I can find no source for the 48th scale kits. Getting close to having all I need to begin, just need to finish my Eduards D-9 for the Butcher Bird GB. We cant all be Clemens and have 5 GBs and builds all going at the same time! (ha) Just kidding bud!

Maybe when I'm retired I will build a larger bench, and have a lazy susan fixture where I can just spin it from one build to the next!(LOL)

Take care my friends!

Doug

I will be watching to see what you come up with for that dome. I have an Me 264 I want to add a couple of domes to and no idea how. Was thinking about vac u forming, but that seems a lot to go through for a kit or two. And I know the feeling. I am really have to make sure I build in the right order to get all my GB's done in time. I have lost count of how many I am in, let alone running.

Nice work!

It seems like that Monogram kit has a better fit than most of the more recent kits...

Hi everyone,

Bit more progress.  Have the majority of the kit rescribed, so I mocked it up real quick. Yes  Fit is pretty good! May have to do some cleanup at the wing roots, but nothing too major.

Bish, Wayne: It's nice to have you guys in here! I put both of you on the list.

Joe: Do you want me to list you as undecided? It doesn't matter if you can't finish your build in time. The goal of ths GB is to have fun anyway!

Man if I didn't have another 190 to do I'd DEFINITELY be in here  building! I've got a Tamiya two seater in the stash with just about everything thats made resin and PE wise for it. Hell I even have a little 1/48 BMW R75 motorcycle I bought to go with it at the time. Currently I don't really know if the motorcycle was used around the Pfeil  much though!

I hope someone here has shares in the Tamiya kit. That makes 4.

O what the hell, I can't leave Tony to be the only one doing this in the one true scale.

Doug is doing a Nightfigther if I recall. So stick me down for the 72nd dragon B-4 recon.

might as well join this one too since i already put it down on my GB list and i haven't done a plane this year. will do the tamiya 1/48 and maybe also the revell as a 2-seater night fighter.

i use adobe photoshop and illustrator to create badges but i'm a technical illustrator with some 3D in real life so they are some of the tools of the trade.

Well I started mine last night, Didn't do to much.  But I all of a sudden I'm not sure what color the cockpit is painted? is it RLM02 or RLM66?

Right, does the Nightfigther have the stepped canopy as on the trainer, or a small domwed second canopy.

Bish, the kit does come with both options and allows a choice. May have a go at the night fighter after this one!

Schatten: Thanks! I've found the scribing tool itself is super important. On this model I'm using the Rb productions Scrib-R. I'm also using the Rivet-R from them as well. I've also used the Trumpeter tool, which works ok.

As far as process, first I'll take some 220 grit and "take the edge off" the panel lines, so to speak. If done right, you still should be able to see where the panel lines were.

Then I'll take a small metal ruler, and scribe the straight lines with that. I normally do 3 passes. This leaves fine panel lines that also hold up to a bit more sanding. For straight lines that go over a curved surface. I'll use a razor saw as well, sometimes. The real tricky ones are the curved ones that go over a curved surface. I haven't found a good way to do those yet.

After all the panel lines have scribed, I'll take some 800 grit and smooth everything out. Finally, I'll use the Rivit-R to add in some rivets where necessary.

Any mistakes are corrected with white-out (pen correction fluid). Dries quick and sands well.

Hope that helps!

Nice start shept. You say you are doing the single seat version. Does the kit come with the option of building either version, or do they do a separate kit.

Clemens, that makes of us, I have been putting off re scribing panel lines, but would like to try it.
