One of the most impressive late-war machines, and often overlooked. I have one of the Dragon kits in the stash but I'm not sure if I'll be able to commit it or not. Certainly watching if nothing else.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

Stop it, stop it! Your making me feel old! (lol) When I started buying those tiny bottles of testors enamel paints as a kid they were .12cents. (Lord I'm getting old) and I had to snitch a little gas from the lawn mower to clean my brushes out, I would'nt even want to try to build a model like that now. (grin) When I was starting to work My first REAL job was working at MPC models. They made every thing at the time, Glue, Estes rockets Craftsmaster paint sets Lionel Trains and were in partnership with Airfix of England.

Oh well, Gotta quit the time machine, Hope you find the kit you want, Chat more later...

Take care,

Doug

LOL... Yeah, the Monogram kits were pretty cool, in the early 60s they had the best box art, the actual model! And yes, many a lawn cutting or snow shoveling earning went to those good ole kits! Those were the days! Ha...

Yeah, just get yourself some fishing sinkers (like the small  ones that look like buck shot) cheap locally and epoxy those buggers in the nose area any where they will fit and not be visable and you will be all set! Well, take care for now, and good luck bidding! You'll find one.

Doug

Mowing lawns to get kits!  Oh yeah, I remember doing that!  Model kits and Estes rockets!  That and running up to TG&Y (a 5 and dime that used to be down south) to pick up some Testors paint and that god awful tube glue!  Each only being about 25 cents a piece!

Thanks for the tips!

Eagle90, I think I saw the one your talking about, while looking for some detail kits... Monogram? That is really a good kit, needs some PE and Resin but still a good sound kit to begin with, Only trouble I ever had with them was getting the hatches to fit right. I,ve had a Monogram Pro builder in stash for a couple years now, and can't wait to get started, but it wont likely be before the first of the year. Good luck finding one, they are always on Ebay at fairly reasonable prices.

OH.... Make sure you put PLENTY of weight in the nose,You dont want her to be a tail dragger!(ha)

Take care...

Doug

Hey Doug,

Yep!  It was the Monogram one.  It went for like $12-$13!  And that was with shipping.  Should have had a timer set to check it!

And thanks for the tips on the Mono kit.  I'm a die hard Mono/Revell guy.  It's what I grew up with (and all I could afford!).  So they are like old friends.  I wouldn't have thought of the weights until I finally sat her down on her own and......plop!  Embarrassed

I just ordered my project: Tamiya's 1/48 kit (single-seater). Not on Hannants, but on ebay. Hannants has only the kit with the additional Kettenkrad (much more expensive), but I don'T need that vehicle at all...

The kit was 30€ compared to 46€ for the kit with the Kettenkrad (I might buy an Aires cockpit set instead...)

Clemens!  Why!  Crying  I don't have a 335!  But this is a great GB theme!  I love German WWII aircraft, and don't know how I don't have one in my stash, but I think I'll ask for one for my birthday and Christmas and see if one appears.  If it does.....no WHEN it does, I'll let you know!

Ok,    before I go wasting time, does anyone know if there are AM exhausts for the 1/48 Revell kit?  can't stand what's molded on it.

Thanks

John

There are some for the Tamiya kit. Don't see why they won't fit the Revell.

I just tried it on SB and it comes to $50 with shipping. That's the cheapest option. But I see Hannants have the Revell kit as well, so would cost you even less to get it from them. But I am guessing the Tamiya would be the better kit.

Thanks for the info, Eric!

I'd order me one, but not for 77$ (55$ for shipping). I'll just order one of the Tamiya kits at Hannants...

I've decided to limit my GB entries in 2014 to a manageable 3 per quarter...so I'm in with a Dragon Do 335A in 1/72. Probably won't start until 2014 though.

Good choice of subject Clemens.

Cheers

Tony

Tony, which of the Dragon A kits have you got, is it the A-1 or A-12

Good idea about setting a limit. I just wish I could manage 1 a month. I think at the moment I should aim for 2 a quarter and anything more is a bonus.

Sounds like a great idea for a GB, I have all the Dragon kits in the stash. Just not sure I can commit as I still have to catch up on this years GB and already have a few for next year. Pencil me in as a possible if time allows.

You think you are crazy? I am participating in more GBs for me to know the exact number of them. Not to mention that this is the 3rd GB I'm hosting... Wink

Clemens,

I think I'm going crazy, but put me down,  I've got a Revell 1/48 kit.  I've got to finish 2 Fw190's and a Me 262 that I just pulled out of the stash before I do this one.  I guess I'm gonna get my experience at german camo huh!  Hmm

Doug: You're on the list, buddy!

Tyrithe: I just put you on the list as undecided.

Trey: You are on the list as undecided as well.

Just tell me if I messed something up and I'll fix it...

I'm going to build the Tamiya kit (1/48).
