SSSSHHHHHH.....Be vewy, vewy quiet....modellers working

Gregers: I heard the old airfix P1127 kit was a real beast. But with proper attention can turn into a real show stopper.

STOP PRESS.....
i am changing the kit i am doing for this group build. i had started the (very) old airfix P1127 and its a real bear, nothing fits right and its going on the "long term build" pile (whilst i stock up on milliput). i have dug out a couple of EE /BACLightning F6 kits. one by Matchbox and the other by Eastern Express. what ever you do DONT buy the Eastern express kit, its the ancient Frog kit and its awfull. (the Hasegawa kit is just as bad btw). i am going to do the Matchbox kit and am currently deciding on either 5, 11, 19 or 74 sqn colours but i am leaning towards the 74sqn markings.

My supply of BMF came in. No more procrastination on the Constellation... hopefully when I am done you won't have to fit me for a size 42L straitjacket.

Dan good luck with the move and hope all goes well. I hope things are ok on your end. That is why I wanted such a long haul due date. I knew this one would be tougher than normal.

I can't get much done at ALL... the house is for sale and the realtors keep everyone busy. Good thing this ends on Halloween. By the way, jimz66, the name's Dan.

f-94 still sittin' in the box while I try to do some research. Anyone know if the inside of the flaps and wheel wells where painted chromate green? or where they aluminum? I just can't seem to find any definative answer on that.

I ordered two new halves for the B-29 fueselage from Monogram along with Decals for the Enola Gay (If they still have those markings I will have to wait and see. i doubt it seriously but will see. If not I'll take what they give me. I also painted the cockpit floor for the B-29 and many parts for my F-84G today. I will work on finishing the cockpits for the F-84 and F-86, as soon as I get some more work done on my two Hornets for the USMC group build. Keep us all posted everyone.

After experimenting with one of the Constellation's engines and some BMF, I ( ulp ) have decided to bite the bullet and screw the paint, I'll BMF the whole aircraft, and the devil take the hindmost. This should be tre`s amusement as I have never done BMF before... ho ho ho.

Hi All,
Is it too late to join? I JUST came across this thread, and opened it to read because I just started 5 Tamiya P-51D's, and was looking for some inspiration. I am doing the 5 at once, because of common paints (Interior green, Interior yellow, etc.) It made sense to paint all of the interiors at once. I have a TON of different decal sheets, and would eventually like to model at least one plane from each of the WW II Mustang units. I love the different unit markings! I will probably start with the 353rd. FG, and the 20th. FG. I think this Group build is a great idea! Thanks!

Nice looking bird, bud! Can't wait to see her! Smile [:)]
Jim: I'm one of those that saw Sandra Bullock in "The Net" one too many times, so, i'm too paranoid to give out my real name (Though, i do use it to sign certain messages). But, you can call me V. (it's a contraction Dunce [D)] of my nickname). Big Smile [:D] Is Jim okay with you? I got a little concerned back there that it wasn't.

Cant wait to see it good luck, looks great. Hey wibhi don't mind if I ask, what is your real name? I prefer to use them if possible. Just personal preference. That could go for the rest of you as well. I am not at all trying to be disrespectful or anything. I just haven't used email or codenames for as long as some of you perhaps and it just seams awkward at times thats all. Thanks.

I've come to a decision on this. I am going to do hobby crafts f-94 and try to replicate this aircraft

Graphically, I think it looks really cool.

Heya jim...

I am not sure if it's fair to the others for me to be entering the SBD-1 in this and in the USMC build....although it is my best NMF job to date....

I am following this build though as the NMF stuff interests me....

Not to mention that the other four are smaller. I don't know IF I am going to bother with the A-26 though. The F-100 is almost ready for paint anyway. So it won't be too bad.The other two are slightly started. The big job with the B-29 will be the rescribing. But the F-100 wasn't too bad and not too bad for my first attempt.

Shrikes the B-29 was the suprise kit. I have installed some shevling above my Entertainment center which will allow me enough room to display it. I just hope to have the decals by then. That is the only problem.

Thanks Jimz66! Hmmm.... Didn't you say you had a surprise kit too? Wow, we're sure building a lot of planes!! I think the most interesting so far is Joe's Vacuformed B-18 Bolo (I hope it works well for you, Joe!)!! Big Smile [:D]

Also, as an update, I'm still painting the (rather spartan) interior of the B-17G, and i messed up a bit of the F-86 because of a bad batch of paint (nothing a little elbow grease won't fix) and i'm picking up the last decals for the F-86 this sunday. Smile [:)]
