Ju 87 Stuka GB

Build roster.

I am going to do something a little different with the roster, which will hopefully be a little bit of fun and team spirit. The Ju 87 operated in flights of 3 aircraft, known as Kette. So builders will be grouped into Kette's filling spaces as you join. Each Kette will have its own Ju 87 related insignia which you can add to your GB badge once you have completed your build. Once all 3 of your Kette complete your build, you can add the Bomber Clasp in Gold to your badge.

Well in that case, my model of choice is Hasegawa's Ju 87 G-2 "Kanonenvogel" (1/32). I'm not too sure if I'm going to add a lot of AM goodies except some masks and brass barrels for the cannons...

I think it's a great idea to include some info in the Stuka in the first post. Nicely done! That siren sure sounds scary BTW....

That "Kette" idea sounds interesting. You might not want to be in one with me if you want to get your oak leaves (or "Eichenlaub" if ya want it to fit the nation the plane was used by) in the near future. I'm a slow builder

I'll take it as it comes Clemens, and I have that kit in the stash, so this will be a god chance to get a clse up look. I take it your doing Rudels bird.

I think I might change it to the Bomber clasp. Its more linked to the Stuka itself and Rudel is a bit of a controversial figure, and don't want to ruffle any feathers.

No, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not going to build Rudel's arcraft. I don't have the kit yet, but I'm working on getting one, so if I find said kit it'll be the first one on this decal sheet:

Nice schemes there clemens. Is the top one the G-2 that was flown in and surrendered at the end of the war? Furth maybe? If so, it was color photographed and color filmed.

That's ok SS, I will let you off lol. Ye, I have seen pics of that top one with the yellow stripe as well. According to one of my Osprey books, the yellow nose band was worn by aircraft in Hungary.

Clemen's, which B-2 will you get. I really want one in 32nd, but the issues with the nose on the Trump kit have put me off and theres no decent replacement.

Oh man, if I wasn't already neck deep enough group builds!  This gives me an excuse to order a cannon armed Stuka. Put me down for a 1/48 Hasegawa JU-87G-2.

Bish: I was actually talking about the same Trumpy kit. What exactly is wrong with the nose?

There is also a question about the wheel spats.

There is a correction set for the nose, but it misses all the detail so it stands out from the rest of the kit.

But apart from that, its a great kit if your not to worried about the shape. But it has put me off a bit.

Í think I could live with the wrongly shaped nose, but the B-version is more of a back-up plan anyway. I really hope I can get the G-2. Do you know any place I can get that particular kit?

Good question Clemen's, I have only just noticed Hannants don't have them. I found a couple on E-bay but none in Europe.

This one in Japan, actually even with postage its not that bad a price.

Yep, that's the one. It really is a nice kit. Gives you the option of both G-1 and G-2. Lots of AM on the market as well. You should see the list I have. Once I get the rom to starting displaying 32nd kits, this will near the top of the list.

I just noticed that 53€ in total really is a damn good price. The D-version at Hannants costs 74 pounds (I don't have that character on my keyboard ) which would be about 90€ (!) without shipping. And those 1/32 kits don't have low shipping costs either...

Do you have the Aires cocpit set? If so, would you mind taking a few comparison pics with the kit parts? Aires does a pretty bad job at taking pics of their stuff. E.g:The only pic of their P-47 engine on the website looks kinda unimpressive, but I got mine a few days ago and it's the best looking engine set I've ever seen...

I know, the price of that D is through the roof. I think I paid about £50 for my G from Hannants and that was only a couple of years ago. The D can't have any more in it than the G.

I got the Eduard BIGED set rather than resin. I felt the pit was that good, it didn't need completely replacing.

The D actually has LESS in the box than the G. They are basically the same kit without the gun pods in the D AFAIK...

Is it really that good? I'm impressed! I only got me some PE for my Hase P-47, but I'll probably upgrade to a resin set (I couldn't find a resin set when I bought it)... I'm not used to Hasegawa kits having a great deal of cockpit details...

I figured they would be basically the same kit minus the guns. I guess that's inflation for you.

I haven't yet built a 32nd kit, so I have only seen them on the sprues. So far I have 11, but I only have a resin pit for one, Hase Fw 190D-9 (another Rudel build) and even then I felt it was a bit of a waist. maybe I am just to used to 72nd, but the detail in those big kits looks so good it just needs sprucing up rather than completely replacing.

The PE probably cost more, but what the heck.
