Ju 87 Stuka GB

Hey Bish, you know which kit to put me down for!! I have to determine whether I am going to do a box scheme or something different, not sure yet.

First off, Bish- Here's what I have on Italian Ds:

This one looks to be a D-3?

This pic was captioned Italian D, but I don't see any evidence of Italian markings from this angle?:

Sure thing Tony! Here's what I have on Hungarian machines:

I can't make out the whole codes on this machine. Spinner spiral and full Hungarian stripes across the tail are interesting. Theater band would be yellow:

Here's some profiles. It is thought that the 41 on b6+41 could be in yellow. Note these profiles show the Hungarian stripes different than the pic above.

I have an Aeromaster sheet with a D-5 in Bulgarian markings. Anyone have any pics of a Bulgarian or Slovakian Stuka?

Well here's what I will be starting with.

Only a couple of assemblies started,  I think I started this about 2 1/2 years ago when I was on a vacation and put it on the shelf when I got home.

Yes, they did, a good many. I know Eagle Editions has them in 1/32, not sure about 1/24?:

It will be interesting to watch this all unfold.  I usually don't try to keep up with group builds because of the 'encyclopedic' amount of reading involved.  I've collected the 1/48th Revell 'D', 1/48th Hasegawa 'B', and the 1/32 Hasegawa "Kanonvogel" ju87g 2.  Build on folks!

Nathan, looking at those pics, I think the one with the damaged undercarriage is a D-3. Theres no MG 151 barrels and it looks like it has dive brakes.

The one in the tree's, I am not to sure. the last pic does look like it has the mounts for the dive brakes, so again I would say a 3.

It can be a bit confusing with the D series, the ones I am really having trouble with though is the 7 and 8. Different references give different accounts of those variants.

Clemens, that G with the yellow band is the only pic I have seen of it as well, but I will check my references again to see if there are any more. I will also check for any more Hungarian or Italian machines.

Nathan, what book are those pics from. I have not seen that G white wash before.

f8, if you ever feel like jumping on board, please do. I can never get enough Stuka's. |That 32nd G kit looks amazing, if I had the space I would be doing mine.

Bish- The White washed G-2 is from Manfred Griehl's Stuka book.

Here's a color vid I have of German troops surrendering. I has some nice footage of Fw190 Doras as well as a D-5 flying in to surrender.

Seems I am missing a Stuka book. The only one by Griehl I have is the Airdoc, and that doesn't cover the G. When you have a minute, could you give me the ISBN.

Terrific, thanks for the information on Hungarian Stuka's Nathan.  I have decals for the third aircraft in the profiles, B6+31. I must say the photo of the aircraft with the full tail stripe is interesting though.

Thanks Nathan, I notice both the full width tail stripe and rudder only tail stripe in this formation. Why is it that I always wanna do the one that I don't have.

Also,  I note the undercarriage without spats,  I wonder how common that was in Hungarian Stukas ?

I'm thinking of doing the 190 on that HAD sheet in the 190 GB, and the 109 in the 1944 GB, it won't take much convincing to get me started.

Ha! I'm not sure Tony. It seems the spats are removed in both pics I posted. I have noticed they are most common in D variants, mainly in the winter/spring/fall?? Also, I wonder if the stripes appear on the top of the Horizontal tails too?

I just read somewhere that Eduard is releasing a 144th Ju87G in March. This makes me wonder. As far as I can tell, they usually follow these 144th builds with upscaled versions like they did with the Spit MkIX and the MiG21's. An Eduard version of this kit with Brassin gun pods and pit would be very very interesting!!

O don't say that. I have already built the 72nd Academy G-1 and have the G-2. After seeing the Eduard Me 110, if they did that with an 87, there's nothing on this earth would let me say no.
