You're right about most 1/32 cockpits having excellent details already, but that huge scale just makes me want to enhance the amount/quality of the details even more. I also got some Aires gear bays AND the Eduard landing gear PE (I'll use the resin parts and add some PE parts to them in some spots) for my Hase Jug although the kit bays look very nice on their own...
I'll have a look around regarding the price of the PE vs resin...
Geez, all this talk of 32nd is tempting. Leave my entry as is, but I've got my eyes open for a big one.
Speaking of which, I hope someone does a 1/24 one too.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
A 24th would be nice. I am thinking about adding one to the stash one day, just the one mind you. But won't be just yet.
SS, I will be watching that closely. If you go for resin, it might just convince me to do that as well, I want my G-2 to really pop.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

From examining the 1/24 AIRFIX kit I bought at a swap meet, I would say it may be the best of their 1970s era kits. The big drawback in owning a 1/24 AIRFIX kit is the paucity of aftermarket decals.
Yeah, 1/24 is something completely different again! I just don't have any room fur such a huge model with my 1/32 B-17 being way too big already (talk about small models...)
Bish: I made up my mind: Resin it is!!! I had a look at the price for both sets at Hannats and the resin cockpit costs as much as the entire Big-Ed PE set, but it's so worth it.
I had a look at some shots of the kit cockpit and it looks great indeed, but just when you think it can't get any better, Aires steps in and throws stuff like this at you (link is to a review including comparison shots wit hthe kit parts).
I KNOW you are sitting in front of your computer now and trying not to drool on your keyboard...
Spruce, I found a few bits for it from Airscale, but not much. Trumpeter have a D due out, hopefully that will be more accurate than there 32nd B. But I think I would just be happy to have a 24th Stuka what ever it was like. hell, I would even consider getting one in 48th just to have a full set.
Now if only someone would do a 72nd C, that's my holy grail.
Here's another short review:

It does look nice doesn't it Clemens'. Of course the BIGED set has other bits as well for the exterior, so if you add those as well.
Buts its very tempting.
Have you thought about the 37mm barrels though.
Yes, Master all the way
master-model.pl/.../AM-32-014_1.jpg
Ok, they didn't do those when I got mine. I have the RB ones which look exactly the same. I wonder if RB make those, they make the ones for armourscale, so maybe.
There's no good way to make sure who makes which set. Profimodeller is a perfect example: Their B-25 barrel set is made by Master me thinks. They also sell a B-17 set that looks exactly like the Master B-17 set without the flash guards (sold separately) they want 10 bucks extra of course
Bish, I wouldn't miss this one. Just have to wait to sign me up officially as I have no idea what I might choose.
Thanks for hosting this GB, mate!
Aber makes some 37mm Barrels too.
I used to have all of the 1/24 Airfix kits in the stash, but they took up too much room. I decided that I would sell them and only buy them as needed.
Now I have space limitations in the display case :( That's why I generally build 1/72 these days.
OK OK OK! You KNOW I'm all over this like a rat on a Cheetoe!!! I'm in with um.............a B-2. Will post pics later.

Hi Bish.
Pencil me in aswell please.
Strange how things work out.............I was given a 1/24 Heller/Airfix Kit last week and was looking for an excuse to build it.
No idea what to do with the monster once it is built, but I will cross that bridge when I get there!
Theuns
That thing is gonna be huge Theuns!! I've seen one of those kits that was used and started at Dibbles Hobby Shop in San Antonio. I thought about buying it would have been too much work to undo the build and correct everything that the builder had done though. I thought about buying it for a split second before saying to myself, "Next please!!!". lol
Same here. I rarely if ever work on something someone else started, just to much of a hassle.
Never would I justify buying that kit for myself, it costs about $130! But as a gift I will give it a go!
Bish
Why not count me in too as it runs till the end of the year. I've got the old Revell 1/32 D in the stash with the Aires resin cockpit. I was thinking about this on the drive to work and think I'll give it a go in winter camo as I have a few techniques I'd like to try.
All this once I finish the Iron Man for the Heroes GB and the Airfix Javelin I've got almost ready for primer

Alright, this is crazy for me but put me in for a Revell 1/48 87D model. Someone has been spying on me, I just pulled this one out of the barely started stash box. I've just got the spats assembled and a little painting in the cockpit side panels. I'm a little embarrassed that it is the revell version and not something better. But I guess I pulled it out for some unknown reason.

I have added you all to the roster. Greg, I have put you down as a TBC. Mustang, I take it that a Hasegawa 1/48th kit.
Bish, you have once again hosted an AWESOME GB! You rock man! And the Kette idea.....BRILLIANT! And the variety of Stukas! I can not wait to see these builds! And the badge....Brilliant! Thanks for hosting it Bish!

VERY happy to see a 1/24 one, Theuns. I was discussing it earlier. This GB needs one of these iconic kits.
Thanx Tony! I just hope I can do it justice! It is always more pressure to build well if a kit (especially expensive one) was a gift.
I am toying with the idea to maybe go with Regia Aeraunotica scheme if I can get decals for it.

If it goes half as well as Joe's 190 GB, I will be more than happy.
Theuns, I am sure you will do it plenty of justice, I am really looking forward to that one.
Ohh Theuns- do the Italian scheme. I would love to do one myself. I did find a rare pic of an Italian D series Stuka, but haven't determined if its a long or short winged D. The Italians did operate only a handful of "D"s. Or, I have decals for a Hungarian/Bulgarian scheme....
Nathan, can you post that pic.
Can I....?!? Yes, later when I'm home. Got a few good stuka pics in my arsenal.
Hi Nathan,
I'm doing a Hungarian D-5. I'd love to know anything you have about it.
