OK guys, I stayed up late and finished! I call this one "Norway 1940" Shes a late winter Ju87-B (R-2) Hope you like...

Some look like duplicates but there at slightly different andles and lighting, It was a joy to build this kit and I will be doing another soon for this great GB!

Nice build Doug. My guess on winter camo would be the heavy frame at the bottom would get whitewashed but the other would be almost left untouched I think that would take too much time for the ground crews to do

Mikey, the only 72nd masks for a B I could find are for the Fujimi kit, I checked Hannants and Sprue Brothers. I reckon they should work for yours.

Hadn't even thought about pre-cut masks but I'm going to look into it. Otherwise I figured I'd mask with some narrow Tamiya tape and fill in the center with liquid mask. Either way it's gonna require the old OptiVisor for sure! Well, off to bed for me; 7:00 AM will be here before I know it and work is the only thing I know that will support my scale modeling addiction....

Doug that aircraft looks truly amazing man!! You paint and how quick you can churn it out just blows me away!!

Looking really nice Doug. I found a few pics and it does look like the framing itself has been left unpainted. If you check this ones, the antenna mast at least has not been touched and the framing has either worn away or not touched.

So I think it was a good choice to do it slightly differently.

Almost forgot: Doug that bad boy looks ready for a mission against the great unwashed masses of Soviet cannon fodder! Also, I think you may be right about the canopy. It being a smaller surface area I suspect the ground crews had to be a little less liberal with the application of paint what with the glass being so close. Aircrews were fussy about messing up their vision with overspray I'm sure. At least that's my theory; for what it's worth!

Finally got some time at the bench and repainted the topside. I used a fair amount of white in both the RLM 65 on bottom and dark green up top to allow some of the pre-shading to show as well as accommodate some scale effect; I'm very used to 1/48 so probably could've used more white but I'm satisfied. After it's dry I will begin more masking for the schwazgrün application. The part I'm really dreading is the masking of the canopy as in 1/72 it's going to be a challenge!

OK my brothers... I'm close to being done... Not quite , but close. I will ask your opinions about the next few pictures and see if my thoughts were on the mark...

OK, I got the canopy installed and my question is, in all the pictures of winter camo aircraft, (whitewashed) the canopys appear darker of just un painted all together, I tried to keep this one a bit darker and my thoughts are that the canopy area gets wiped and cleaned much more then the rest of the birdie. Therefor the white wash would be thinner and more washed off allowing the base color to show through. Thoughts? Any way that is why it doesnt fully match the rest of the finish. On th the fiddly parts like the antenna wire and such, I should have ready to declare complete some toie this week if all goes well.

Thanks for the info there Doug. I know what you mean about bringing myself to build the Stuka G-1. I have one in my stash.  I enjoy building those kits and know I can get another one and may give that G-1 a go myself but will be addiing plenty of AM stuff to it to "bring it up to speed" like I did my Dauntless.

 Made a major breakthrough today (at least in my house it's a major breakthrough). I got her primed which means I can start darkening panel lines and getting ready for my favorite part of building...................PAINT!

Now that's nice. I have yet to do a white wash finish on anything, I really like how you have done this one.

  Nathan, Yes the letterings are dry transfers except for the red "G" I had to make that one on a decal progran I got from the Hobby Shop. I can see the need if your doing a specific bird and markings, but to me its alot of work for the need. I just needed it now, and had no desire to run screaming out into the night to locate one. (I hadforgot to get them) I like the dry transfers due to ease of application and their appearance.

  Joe... Yes sir I was very happy with panel lines and over all fit, very little sanding, filing or filling needed to sand down and re-rivit or re-scribe panel lines. No wash involved though, It was all preshading and careful application of finish. I had gone over and painted each individule panel 1 at a time, trying not to leave preshading too stark or cover to the point of non effect. After all panels and covers were done I hit it with a misting coat at about 40psi from about 6 to 8 inches from surface to blend. Thats why it took just over 5 hrs to complete.

  Tom...I have 2 of the old Monogram kits (Ju87 "D" and "G" ) in stash and (along with other old Monograms) Just cant bring my self to build them. They bring back such fond memories of being a kid and I really do hold them in high regard. That may sound silly but as a kid those (to me) were the most sought after kits to buy with the hard earned snow shoveling and grass cuttilg money I earned! LOL... I had built one of my old FW190s With "Mustang" in the Butcher Bird GB and put as much love and time into it as one of the high dollar kits. Your build will turn out just fine, and I will continue to try to represent out Kette as best as I can, as will we all! LOL...

Thats one good looking bird there Doug! I really like the way the Revellogawa panel lines are as pronounced as they are. They look like they really take to the washes quite well!!

Nice looking machine Doug. Are the letter codes dry transfers? Do you find those better than decals?

Well was able to get some more done...

Started on the dry transfers...

And the decals...Getting the base of the weathering started...

Now I need to slow down a bit, I'm starting to get ahead of my thought process... LOL...So far I'm really please with the way things are going and I dont want to slip up and have to back step at this point!

Great looking progress all. Phil, I have found just about all the books from Kagero to be top notch; that one looks to be as well. Got back from my girlfriend's on Tue. but fell into a hole at work so very little accomplished on my build. I had done some painting last week with a brush but it wasn't up to snuff. Lines between colors were too stark and paint was too dark. I need to adjust the ratios of grey to green for a better scale effect. Long story short, I took off the old stuff and applied primer. I will use the airbrush this time and mask differently. I should be able to start on that this weekend along with catching up on some reading and sleep!

Phil, my copy just turned up today, it does look very nice, and rather informative, I just had a quick flick through this morning and its helping me clear up the problem I had with the D-7 and D-8. I am looking forward to part 2.

Nice scratch work Mustang. In the past I have placed a piece of Bare Metal foil over thin plastic card, punched it out and used it for a landing light. It takes on a concave curve after its punched, so it looks like a bulb sort of. Hows the wing to fuselage fit on that Hase kit?

I arrived home today to see the post man had delivered a book I ordered to help with the build etc and I had to let you all see some of the images they have in this book.

Now these are 3D but there are a load more in there of original pictures which I personally haven't seen before, but looking at the 3D I think they will be a huge help in the build
