Thanks for the comments, Bish, Archangel and mustang--very kind of you all.

AS:  It seems that Airfix has improved the quality of their kit decals.  I personally haven't had any issues with them lately.  With Microset and Microsol, they seem to settle down and conform pretty well to surface detail--although sometimes they have to be pressed down manually.

With all the rivets covering this Stuka, I am wondering how well the decals will work settling over them.  I added a thin black pin wash yesterday; today I was planning on adding another clear coat, then on to the decals--so I should find out soon.

As for the camouflage scheme, when I was surfing around the net looking for photos, it seems that sometimes the 65 colour came up farther on the sides of that scoop-thing under the nose.  Other than that, there wasn't much difference in the pattern.

Not much to report. The first color (RLM 71) was sprayed late this afternoon and will tape it up tomorrow  for the second color (RLM 70).Then the third color will follow (RLM 79). I will post something then.

I haven't been around for awhile, and didn't know Bish had extended the JU-87 GB until last month.
Since he did, I figured I might as well finish up my Stuka build.  Here's the completed Hobby Craft JU-87 G Stuka (modified into a more correct G2 version), and sorry for not supplying more progress posts after the last one in September.  

Hope everyone is well, and thanks to Bish for running this Group Build!

I had forgotten what a PITA the splinter masking is. Shot the 70 and 71 on and removed the masks. The RLM 79 is next.

Plasticjunkie>  I haven't forgotten the splinter masking, which is why after spraying the base light green on the aircraft, I finally just ran some tape and did the dark green by hand.  Such a pain.

Thanks GAF. The first color I shot was the 65 underside which I have to go back and tough up in a couple of spots.

Very successful work with the splinter, pj.  It is challenging to accomplish.

Really nice there PJ. The more I see that desert colour over the splinter, the more I like it. Its one thing seeing it in profile drawings or B&W photo's, but much better seeing it like this.

That provides a nice and interesting variation in camouflage, pj!  I like the look of it.  Well done!

I really like the camo too, PJ. Nicely done so far.

I'm starting with mine (first splinter attempt) and can appreciate the uggghhh factor of a third color.

She's looking good there! Putting on that 3-tone splinter pattern can be a bear. I bought Silly Putty but having never used it for masking I chicken out and went with tape and liquid mask.   I went with leaving the areas for the RLM-79 unpainted and adding it last. If I were to do it again, I think I will paint the entire upper fuselage/wings with the 2-tone then hit it with the 79. I just sprayed on the Pledge on the upper side of the bird, will get the bottom done maybe tomorrow if the Badger air brush don't give out on me. Can't wait to start slapping on decals.

The masking with silly putty is really easy and takes care of complicated outlines. The trick is to keep it thin specially  on the fuselage sides where it can droop down and to shoot the paint as soon as you mask to keep the desired shapes and remove right after painting just in case it creeps into the painted area.

This build has finally come to a conclusion. Time to join Kette-11 into the fight.

There are many things I don't like in my build, as I explained earlier. One of them is the aerial antenna wire. I used stretched sprue but I do not master this art and after many failed attempts,  the result was rather disappointing. Usually I exploit some innocent woman (sister, girlfriend) and use a long hair for this (see an example of an older 1/72 Fujimi Kannonenvogel build at the last photo, a forensics evidence from the notorious 'serial hair picker' case ) but none was available today.

Z. I think it come out very well. We're always are own worst critique being you saw it being built, but in the end, You did a great job! LOLOL... I thought I was the only one who used "hair" for antenna wire....LOL... My wife is Asian, and has that long pretty black hair, and the first time I showed her some of her hair imitating an antenna wire... Well, lets just says after that I found a good source for a supply of EZ line! LOL...Great work guy!!!

Zvezda, I'm really impressed with your results, especially knowing first hand how challenging this particular kit is.

Particularly impressed with the nose/engine cowling area where I have had so much trouble with fit and loss of detail due to excessive filling and sanding. I know you had your share of challenges, but it appears you did a great job of test fitting and planning ahead.

Also like the way your upper and side camo is weathered/shaded/preshaded. Not an easy scheme to work with.

Awesome work Zvezda. I love the look you got with the yellow cowling and tail. Between the Italeri and Hasegawa Stuka kits, I'm afraid there is no easy route to building a Ju-87. Good to see you finish.

I think your being a bit hard on yourself there. I am not much of a fan of using stretched sprue, never been able to master it. But you have done a really nice job on that build, I like the weathering on the yellow nose. Lovely job all round and a real pleasure to have it in this GB.

Well, turns out my post office screwed up and sent the replacement part for my cockpit back to Aires... They are going to send it to me again on monday, so here's me hoping it's gonna arrive soon... Unfortunately I can't get the fuselage halves glued together untill I get the cockpit built up and installed...

Zvezda -- ditto all the excellent comments here, you've built is sterling model! It looks like the Hasegawa kit, and I know first hand what troubles it can offer!
