Hey, I see a couple of guys mentioning the Italeri C-119 Flying Boxcar or some variation there of.  Is there a chance that anyone has the instructions for one of these kits in a PDF format they wouldn't mind sharing???

I got a great 'builders lot' box of kit parts from Evilbay awhile back and one of the kits included was the  1/72nd scale Italeri AC-119 Stinger.  It appears that all of the parts are there, but I'm just not sure of the assembly sequence.

No, some kits are getting harder and harder to find.

This'll take a little time but I'll get it in. It wasn't so easy getting my hands on that AFV kit, I hope it comes in decent shape. I found it from a guy in France. Just can't find these vintage kits like you used to.  

That will be awesome jibber! I have seen that sort of thing myself up close firsthand. It is quite impressive to see one vehicle picking up another like that.

I'm not sure if there were any UFO's seen in Nam, maybe a couple hallucinations but here's the right picture.  Sorry..

Stik I've ordered the AFV M88 kit and my plan is to build it to this picture holding an M113. I'll try and replicate as best I can. Terry

I have never participated in a group build, but might as well get my feet wet. I have a AFV Club 1/35 M35A1 in my stash that looks like it will work.

Yeah, I noticed some AFVs missing from there as well. A good list, but not all inclusive.

Even though that Wiki list doesn't include them, you will want to accept anyone that wants to do an SP-5B, TF-9J or a bunch of the different P-2s. I only mention it because I have an AP-2H that is at the last stage of getting ready to build. I have everything except the metal landing gear and I need to acquire more Napes for Napalm Nellie. The TF-9J was used for Marine Fast FAC use until swapped out for TA-4Fs.

Ok, sounds good to me. I hope that you can find it somewhere. It's not your run of the mill entry for any GB, so I really like that aspect.

Stik I have some time but I may have backed myself into a corner, might be a tough kit to find. I'll stay on it I really want to build that one.

Stik still thinking on this one..but the 88 is in I just had a Patton sitting around on the shelf. I'll see what I can find on the lifting capabilities of the 88 and Pawel thanks for the info.

I've been wanting to do one  that hooks up to a battled damage piece of equipment, an artillery piece, personnel carrier etc but I believe that the 88 is capable of lifting 70 ton that can easily cover a 50 ton Patton. So please put me down for both vehicles, I think that would be a nice DIO and compliment the Nam GB. The timeline is perfect with all the others going, thanks for hosting this one.

Jibber, AFV Club does (or did) a Vietnam M88. Those things are a beast to watch in action. I do recall once seeing one lift a M113 in our battalion motor pool so the crew could chage a road wheel. Rather than using the "by the book" method of the "dog bone" tool to lift the road wheel arm to do the same task.

So you will be doing a M48 and M88, both in 1/35? Sweet!!!

Terry - for Vietnam you need a A-nothing variant of the M88. A1 came later, in 1977. And I believe the capability of the A-nothing is 56 tons, that's for pulling, for lifting it would be much less than that. On one photo I had there were two M88's loading a mine-damaged M48A3 onto a lowboy. But good luck with your project!

Ok after giving this some thought I think that I am going with a F-111A. Hobby Boss makes an A with marking for 1973 in Vietnam. I have to get the kit so I do not have any idea what to expect.
