Pretty much got this one done. Applied light weathering with the airbrush and a light drybrushing to bring up the wing ribs. Used EZ Line with a dot of white glue to represent the insulator on the antenna. Another excellent new-tool Airfix kit and IMHO, you can't beat the value you get for the low cost.

On the Bench: Nothing on the go ATM
Dang Rob that Hurri looks good! just love the bottom silver, top marks
Theuns
Clear coated, pinwashed and Belgian markings applied:
i think both models have nice shading. some of it may be more pronounced in a photograph than in person. rust red always seems to be redder in photographs.

Theuns, just looked at a photo (was curious as I've never seen anything SAAF) of a SAAF CL13b sitting on the tarmac and yours is bang on! Nice paint twist on a classic airframe, good going and looking forward to more on this build.
cml Hurricane is coming along nicely Rob. Is that the pre-shading showing through on the upper surfaces? I really like that effect.

My SAAF CL 13b with basic scheeme of "Buff and green over light grey"
I wanted to make it look less toy-like but then went overboard with the post shading! Also managed to loose 2 slat rails in the prossess.
Nice work guys!
Wayne, please put me down for this 1/72 Fw190. Thank you!

Great job on the Hurricane, Rob!
[Admiring Starbuck's space fighter] Cassiopeia: It's a perfect machine! Born to dance amongst the stars! Starbuck: Yeah, it's bumping into them that has me worried.
Theuns, Rob, nice work guys. Wayne, I was about to post a pic of my box, but you beat me to it! Thanks.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Some more progress last nite:
Both colours of cam applied, minor post shade, no clear coat yet:
Underside Valejo silver (starting to employ more Valejo in my projects) and oil pinwash:

This should be fun. Terry

Bit more progress on the Hurri:
Bored out the 8 x holes for the MGs as the kit surprisingly left them as dimples. Some ferocious sanding on the leading edge and thinned out the trailing:
First preshade (quite easy as the fabric rear fuselage and wings are bereft of any panel lines :
Flat earth coat, cam pattern masked off and second pre-shade for the green applied:
Thanks, I have a specific scribing tool that I`m not totally satisfied with. Looking for other options.
I basically use a semy dull exacto blade. I have found that it gets into tight spots and use a pushing motion to scribe rather than cut a line.
It works OK for me :-)
Theuns, what do you use to re-scribe? Just curious....
The primer has shown a few pannels I need to better re-scribe. But not much to do before I can start with color.
I managed to get a small amount of work done.
I added a little bit of framing to the seat as well as some ejection handles. The framing is not 100% accurate, as it was a bit difficult in this scale, but i think it adds a little more to the seat than how it comes.
One error with the kit is that whilst the instructions call out the instrument decals, there aren't actually any included. Hopefully i can dry brush them on.
Ok, so i finally sat down and cracked the sprues out on this one.
I picked this model up around 6 years ago from my LHS. i think i must have been from a donated stash, as all money was donated to a charity, the LHS was merely acting as the intermediary for selling the stash.
Anyhow, for $10, i think it was a pretty good buy.
I'm quite impressed with the molding of the instrument panels in this kit:
I'm a little unsure about the seat though - the headrest looks way too big for this scale. Also, most pics i've found online don't show those protruding sides on the headrest - most i've seen show an almost flat headrest. I'll probably file them down slightly.
Hoping to get the cockpit painted tomorrow - fingers crossed!
I can concur that the Trump Hun C is really a nice model, good fit exelent detail and for me the slats "down" just makes it look "the bizz"!
I have done the major filling and sanding on the F-86, I will have to do a little building on the bottom of the fuselage. The South African AF had "sugar scoop" inlets where the NACA scoops were on the Canadair CL-13's, they needed the extra cooling in the Hot and high weather.
Pix to follow

The Trumpy Huns are very nice Rob! I have a couple that in the stash but I did open one to fondle the plastic! ;-)
Very nice progress so far. I really like the Hun...had a good build with Trumpeter`s D model (actually got this superb kit from my LHS from their bargain bin - water damaged box, but everything was perfect - $5).
Thanks Chris! Did manage to get the first coat of primer on today.
Wiccan - coming along nicely! You'll be laying down paint before I've even had the opportunity to crack out the sprues on my build!
Theuns - that cockpit looks beautifully painted - any close up pics?
Rob Shermancml Rob - looks like you're ploughing ahead with the Hurricane. I have Airfix's old 1/48 Hurricane in the stash - doesn't look anything as good as that 1/72. Yeah, I`m steering clear of the older Airfix stuff. Their new releases are worth it.

Hye guys, the F-86 is coming on well. I had some minor alignment issues with the fin to the fuselage as well as the wing to fuse fit. The fin was fixed with a little boiling water . The wing seat needs a little carving work.....can't recall the other same kit I built being the same.
Thanks Rob!
Chris - I feel for ya Man!
My apologies!! I'm still working on the F-100F for this GB. Sorry about my GB post mix-up! I meant to put up this here. Didn't get a lot done today as far as modelling goes but I had some places I had to be.
