Doug, that is outstanding. If your work here isn't enough to make a guy want to jump back into a 1/32nd project, I don't know what it. Attention to detail and finish is top notch.

BTW, you have choirs outside in July down there? Really? What do they sing? (Sorry, couldn't resist yanking your chain).

This is Hasegawa's 1:48 E-7 kit, wearing markings from Eagle Strike 48121, Bf 109s of the Balkans, Pt. 2. The aircraft was originally an E-1, factory-rebuilt to E-7 standard. It was flown by Werner Petermann with 5/JG77.Petermann became a POW and survived the war.

Now, the next out of the blocks will probably be a Spitfire, but I have three more 109s in the line-up for this GB, two of them well advanced, so, as the man says, "I'll be back!"

LOLOL...Sorry Greg, ..fat fingers. "CHORES" lolol. The spell suggestions on the spell check popped up the word and I inadvertently selected it!       Yeah, so far this year we've had a typical summer.  Hot, humid, with chance of pop up thunder storms. Not complaining,  I like the hot weather,  but lots of yard to cut, trim, clean up...

And yes, 32nds fast becoming all I want to build, so...jump on in with one of those bad boys!

Mike...3 more??? I tip my hat to ya! I will likely do atleast 1 more. Great pictures! Great finish...

On a tip, I tweaked the colour the photos, it turns out there was too much green in the images. I'd love to reload but I've known Photobucket reject a second load of a picture with the same name. Anybody know if you can get around that???

I too noticed the green/yellow tinge to the photos.  If it were me, I'd just delete those in your bucket account and replace with the newer ones.

Mike, your finished pics do your work justice. Very nice! Again, really like that scheme  a lot and you did a great job with it.

I also noticed green tint. As Jack said, you can just delete the existing ones in PB. Or rename the new batch.

Thanks Jack, Brandon and Greg! I once had a bad experience with PB, I deleted an image and was unable to re-upload no matter what I did -- maybe that was an anomaly. I'll give it a test and see if I can replace them as the new versions really do look much more natural!

Had the same issues with PB... I had to clear cameras memory, retake photos, and re upload, and they took, but not without a struggle. That's why I,m on Flickr now, on top of the outrageous fees they charge now for more storage, and were not talking much.

Hi guys -- scroll up to my photo post and you should find the new versions. I did a test upload and PB allowed me to delete and reinstall an image on the same name, so I went through and replaced the images with those tweaked with the green dropped out, then pasted the versions in here. I think they look much better!

Mike, thanks for that info, its certainly something I have not noticed it before, it certainly is something different. I was just looking through my Osprey Aircraft of the Aces 2 and there is a 109 in there fom LG 2 that carries it. I/JG 77 was formed from I (J)/LG 2, so it might have been one of LG 2's aircraft. I should really pay more attention to my books.

And she looks really nice finished. I do like that scheme a lot, great work.

Doug, that's a really lovely looking build. That mottling is just the sort of finish I am aiming to get. Some great detailing there and a lovely finish. You should indeed be chuffed. In fact, i would say Well Chuffed.

Doug: Man I've seen a lot out of you but I really like everything about what you've done with this build. The level of detail, paint , weathering, build quality and all. One of your best yet!!!!

Mike: Like Greg said, It doesn't look like you ever had any issues with this kit! Grand slam bud!! Nice color choices on this one with the subtle weathering. It really brings it all home!

OK, minor gripe here. GREG, listen up!! Lawdog will most likely back me up here. The Zvezda kit has a horrible problem that I just uncovered. Greg, you still have time. The Nav lights included in the kit will require serious mods to make them work. Either cutting the wing and fitting them in or reducing their size greatly. I only discovered this after I am nearly done. I have to finish without them, there is no other option. I have no other real complaints about this kit, but this is a biggie. I knew the kit had the lights, why I didn't test fit is beyond me and it's just too late now. OK, I'm done venting. Greg, good luck!!

Observation (probably too basic for you, but just in case.....).....

Went down to take a look. Noticed my F2 has two different pairs of wing tips, one pair appearing to be nav bulbs exposed, no clear cover and the other seems to be to accept the covers. Assuming we are working with the same or similar sprues. This is a long ong shot as I don't think you'd miss this.

I still have to snip of the clear covers and check my fit. Will let you know, and thanks again.

Greg, that's exactly what happened. Followed the kit instructions to the letter and it told me to use the exposed ones. Didn't even notice the other till I was done. I did paint them up and they look decent for not having lenses. Won't do that again. Looking forward to seeing yours.

As far as my kit is concerned, I'm done. I have spent way too much time on this kit and I'm just burned out on messing with it. I did a fairly quick weathering and final assembly as I just needed it off the bench. I could have done some more weathering but I think will do. I hope you like the final product. Thanks for looking gents.

I think she's a real beaut, Brandon. Having only started mine, I can see enough about the kit to understand why it took you some time.

I like your paint job a lot and the extensive detail you put into the engine really shows off nicely with that left engine cowl open. (plus it just looks cool with it open )

You know I really like these 109's opened up. Your build looks gorgeous Brandon!! That paint is some really stellar work right there!!! Let me know which picture you'd like to see posted in the into and I'll get it in there. That goes for the other two as well......Doug and Mike!!!

You are making some good progress with yours. As mentioned before, dry fit things before gluing anything will make things a lot easier, and that gun mount looks really good..

What fiddly thingie did you use for the wire insulators in yours, they look really good.

I have been MIA for a while but that's because the wife decided to use my woodworking and handy dandy skills to build a BBQ cooking island in the backyard. It's in the high 90's here with a heat index of well over 100 so by the time the evening comes I'm drained of all energy and just want to veg in front of the tube.

I will have an update soon.

Hey PK... Please don't say that too loud... my wife wants a BBQ pit AND a gazebo to boot.... maybe when it cools down a bit. Lolol...

Any way, I take a very small drill bit from my pin vise and a fine piece if wire, wind it around the drill dit, leaving a pig tail on each end, after about 6 wraps, bend both ends into hooks and you have a spring. The air declector cone is the tip of a round toothpick, drilled through, ( with the same small drill bit) and the antena wire is the fine charcoal grey e-z line.

Thank God for air conditioning! I cant fathom the thought of how people used to live in this heat without ac.
