2015 Messerschmitt Bf 109 Group Build

Thanks for running a great GB, Mustang! I'm taking some time out to do a Spit and maybe one other before the lure of the 109s calls me back to finish the other two currently in play.

Brandon: Gotta love those yellow nosed Friedrichs! I think the weathering is great as it is.

I spent the last couple of days tinkering with my Eduard G-6. She got some wings now and all I have to do is fill some small gaps and rescrive a couple of surface details. After that I'll assemble the tail section and she should be ready for some paint pretty soon.

I'll post some pics later this week once I'm done with the major filling work...

Now I have finished my P-61, I will be starting my second entry on Monday, just going to spend the weekend catching up on a build I have been working on here and there for a few weeks. But I just want to clear something up first. Some of you may have noticed my entry on the roster and thought it must be a typo, or thought perhaps that Joe had had a funny moment when adding it. But I can clear that up here and now, Its not an error, the 3 is not meant to be a 7. I am indeed building a ..... 1/32nd aircraft (deep intake of breath from the shock)

The kit comes with 4 marking options all for aircraft flown by Hans Joachim Marseille.  I will be doing option 4, the aircraft he flew in Sept 1942. This was just before he switched to the G-2 which then killed him later in the month.

I'll also be adding some AM goodies, of course. From an Eduard Biged set, and interior, exterior and mask.

 The interior comes with set belts, but I won't be using those as i am going to try out the HGW belts everyone raves about. Also from HGW, some control surface fabric coverings. These were only a couple of quid so I figured they were worth trying out.

 And also, some PE parts from RB Productions, yet another first. These are a set for the cockpit canopy framing and another for the radiator grills. And, more familiar products, resin wheels from Aires.

 I have been looking forward to this, should be fun.

Now this ...should be very interesting!!! I'll get you on the roster today Bish!! Welcome aboard man!

Bish -- a 32 from you? This will be more than interesting!

Mustang -- no WIP or build log, I'm afraid, this one is not a GB build, just one that demanded to be started. I did some painting today, she's moving along...

Moose, welcome back to your bench. No evidence of all the filling, sanding, and re-scoring which to me is a always a very good sign.

I thought that was this 109 in the Magazine! I'd go pull it out, but it's packed for moving. Great job on the build, and great job getting published!

Joe, that is stunning. That's some amount of work gone into that and its more than paid off.

Moose: Great progress on the D model. I have taken a liking to these early 109s as of late.

Stang I have my Pearl build next.  After that I will be attempting a P-51D in 1/32 as a cut away.

Allen no worries there.  I doubt I would ever enter a competition.  I see too much wrong with my work.

You see more wrong than another eye would. You should give it a shot just for fun. You never know....

Joe, I know we are all our own worst critics, but that build really is something to be proud of and if I was the contest type, I would put that in one in a heart beat.
