What did you use for the body of the racer, Alclad or MM Metalizers?

Ok, Back with pics, as requested:

the AT-ST, which I built first, was also the more complicated of the two (but has BEAUTIFUL detail), such as the Cockpit:

For numerous reasons, I shaved down the connections for the roof, to keep it removable:

I also didn't use the "missle launcher" that goes on the left side (I didn't like how this part was made by Bandai, and I personally think the AT-ST looks more fearsome without it, so I just gave it an "oil slick" where the mount was removed from the head). The roof had two choices of hatch, open or closed:

So, that by using the open hatch, and Chewbacca (who came with the kit, in only two pieces, if you can believe it), you can recreate the "hero" AT-ST from the Battle of Endor:

Ok, the Stormtrooper:

In progress, 'humor pic' for you. ("Aaagh, my legs!")

this Kit, also a work of art, even unbuilt, came with all the armaments of the Empire:

When it came to the rifle (the long one); I chose to make it a sniper rifle, by making a scope for it (like how it appears in the Battlefront games for PS2):

It also came with ambidexterous gun hands, so you can make this trooper dual-wield!

I must, regretably, point out a fatal flaw with this kit: There is no chin in the helmet, so when you pose the head up, from the side, the Trooper looks to either be a robot, or have an unnaturally small, squished head. SO, to fix this, I BUILT A CHIN (forgive the caps, but I am extremely pleased with how this worked out:)

I used putty:

once dry, I painted the chin black:

and, viola, it worked:

I added the green stipes to make this Trooper a Seargent, with the grey spots covering up places where the paint has rubbed off (an unfortunate side effect of not thoroughly washing the kit before painting). Looks good, though.

Thanks for looking, and I hope this can help whoever else was lucky enough to get this kit before Disney stupidly locked Bandai out. (I managed to also get the Scout Trooper and Speeder bike before the order lock, but I'm saving it for later...)

Great job Klik, I like the metalic  armor. BTW, do you do much painting on that desk? 

I got some TIE cockpits pretty much done. Hopefully I will be able to start painting tomorrow.

Very cool builds Klik!  That Bandai AT-ST looks much nicer than the old AMT kit.  Looks like you have a nice little flightline going Nuc.

I haven't made a whole lot of progress on my AT-AT yet, just gotten most of the head pieces together as well as the neck.  The detail is a lot better than I thought it would be compared to the pictures of the MR replica and the studio model.  The worst part about it is the raised panel lines, but I can work with it.  Here's where I'm at:

Well, after many delays, here is my battle-weary Y-Wing. Still my favorite SW ship--in my mind, the perfect expression of pure, ugly function and the struggle of the Rebel Alliance.

Bish, I mentioned I could finish the FM X-Wing by the end of this GB, but seeing that it took this long to finish something in 1/72, December is probably unrealistic for a 1/48 kit. :-)

Bish, glad I gave you food for thought with this build. That's how I built the Y--just started doing internet searches and then pulled weathering stuff I liked the most from various builds I saw online.

In any event, I might do a separate WIP thread for the X-Wing, after I've taken a bit of a break. The next SW GB isn't until 2017, right?

As for the Blockade Runner, that's actually a playing piece from the X-Wing miniatures game (believe it or not). There are expansion sets, including capital ships, and the Runner is one of the sets. So of course I bought it for display rather than for game play. :-)

You're welcome, Bish. Happy to have joined the GB. I'll of course stick around and watch the other builds before the GB ends, can't get enough of SW. I don't think I can resist joining next year's GB, especially if TFA turns out to be halfway decent. :-)

Porkbits! Amazing work! I like the falcon also. I have a growing collection of x-wing miniatures too. The game is pretty fun if you have some one to play with.

On a build note. Five models done in six days! That is definitely a record for me. There is a model show down in Austin  that I am going to, I will try and get some pictures up by Sunday.
