I would like to Josiah. But, I'm afraid quitting my job, blowing off all honey do's, forgoing sleep and demanding that all meals be served at my bench would likely go over like a turd in the punchbowl with "She that Wields all Power".Indifferent

Stik,

Put me on the roster as to be announced. I will come up with something. Maybe I will get lucky and get a kit for Christmas Gift that will go with the build. I'm on the nice list this year.

Send Santa a Christmas letter, Doug, and you just might get what you want!

I tried that but the wife shot it down and told Santa that I was to be on the naughty list this year. Tongue Tied

That's a tough one, Doug.  Then you're only option may be to bribe an elf.

Sign me up w/ a Sturmtiger!  Not sure what scale yet.  I'm building a 1/72 tank and like it but Tamiya's 1/35 looks great too...  I'll figure it out soon though!

LOL, Josiah!  Is that the same actor from "Game of Thrones?"

And, Doug, this is all sad and tragic to hear.  I'm sure we all feel your pain.

Merry Christmas (when it comes) anyway!

My order for the Academy 1/350 Indianapolis came in yesterday and I have to say it looks like a really nice kit at first glance. The only complaint so far is the flag set has 50 stars instead of 48, but who's going to count.

The size blew me away. It's as long as my 1/350 Arizona. I had no idea this heavy cruiser was as long as a per war battleship.

It looks like its going to be a enjoyable build. I plan on putting her in a seascape setting (my wife want's me to put her in heavy seas). We'll see.

That's good news Steve. Looking forward to seeing that. How big is that kit.

We have one week to go until kick off guys. Not sure who is going to be starting straight away, but for those who are, not long to go.

How big is that kit.

It's 532 mm long and 142 mm from keel to mast, pretty big for a cruiser I thought.

I will be starting it on the 1st, but work on other builds at the same time.

Thanks. I would like to get the revell 350 Bismarck kit and was just wondering what sort of size these kits are. nearly 2 foot is a pretty good size.

I hope to start my P-61 around the middle of the year, I am trying not to leave it as that this time.

Wow, dunno how I missed this???? I'm losin' it, I guess. Anyway, definitely in for this one for sure. Just need to get something in mind to do. It's (as usual) gonna be in the air, 1/72 and prob one of the newer Airfix releases as they've had a few WW2 planes out recently. MTF.

Good see you join up Rob. Like you, I'm still waffling all over the place as to what I'm going to build. When the idea of this GB started up I figured I might have a couple of things that would qualify. Yet, when I got to digging into my stash I found that I had a plethora of choices. The gray matter is a fryin' now.

ROB there is probably some canadian stuff you could do and crossover. i am really trying to not over join GBs in 2015 so i am always looking for crossovers and i have a canadian chevy 15cwt. peerless max kit but the italeri bedford turned out nicely and i used the gun from this kit on that.

BISH found a pic of a K-5 RR GUN firing across the rhine in '45. if i decide to go with a late war scheme will do this. if i go with early pz gray on the RR GUN will do a 1/72 TIGER or KINGTIGER but don't post a specific build yet.

Stellar idea Wayne...yes, I agree on the Crossovers. I've already committed to about 6 GBs, so, maybe i'll work hard on crossing. Canada used the Beaufighter and Airfix is releasing one this year. I may consider that attempt. Thanks for the idea Wayne.

Sounds like a couple of nice options there wayne.

O lot of that Airfix stukk isn't out until later in the year. The new 72nd Stuka is not released until Dec. If you wanted to do that, you could just wait until July and use the time to catch up on some other GB's. I know I won't be starting my P-61 until about August, I have 8 GB's to build for in the coming year, so I have to get them done in the right order.

Yeah, I gotta rethink my option as the Beaufighter was only used by RCAF 404 sqn until mid '43, so, it would be out for this GB. The Blenheim was retired in '44. Gonna have to source from elsewhere for this GB, methinks!!

Hi Rob, what is your source  for 404 Sqn RCAF?  According to online sources, as well as  this book I have, the Beaufighter TF.X continued to fly with them until March 1945 when it was replaced by the Mosquito.

regards,

Jack

Jack...just a quick google search, and, now, I realize it was the Beaufighter Mk. V they abandoned because of issues with the turret...I see they did indeed fly it until they changed over to Mosquitos. I didn't read past that on the article. Thanks for this as now I can get excited about doing a Canadian build.
