Here's the Musashi's stern in it's resting place. I still need to add some twisted metal at the break and work a little on the props and rudder.

Yeah, that's awesome Steve. I love how you've got the smooshed up decks in there.

OK. Since I haven't posted in a while, I'll do a little catch-up.

Here is the bow with the internal bulkheads.

Here are the bow and stern painted.

The completed bow and stern with the algae green.

I made up the little ROV using some left over PE, looking at the actual ROV and some artistic licence. I will still need to do a little touch up painting.

That should do the trick I think.

I worked on the seafloor today. I sprayed Loctite spray adhesive, then sprinkled some dirt, which was pulverized into dust, onto it. I sprayed it again and repeated the process. Next, I'll add some debris from the spare parts box, run the wires for the ROV and install the bow and stern. I'll then sprinkle some silt onto the parts and add some seafife. I think I'll spray the whole thing with an acrylic gloss to simulate wetness, which should darken the silt.
I'm almost done.

I think that catches us up.

Thanks for cross-posting here Steve. For those who haven't been following him over on the ships forum this is just a taste of the coolness going on there!

You bet Gam, Sometimes I forget I need to post in both places. I should be finished with it very soon. Thanks for letting me use it as my build for this GB.

Hmmm. Either #4 or #16 I think. It's just such a big dio, it's tough to get it all in one picture.

MC and G-  I lean towards #16 for the front page pic, as it shows both pieces off really well.  Just awesome work and effort.

Steve: Just posted your IJN Mushashi to the front page. I went with your and Goldhammer's suggestion of #16. As usual if you would like it changed just lemme know.

Hey Simpilot, good to see you again. Hope things are well.

I'm going though my stash, I may have something else to toss in before the end of the year.

nice diorama. do you live anywhere near Manitowoc Wisconsin? if so you should enter it the annual Wisconsin Maritime Museum contest. My ship club folks keep telling me i should build a ship for it.

Unfortunately, no. I live near Boise Id, so no maritime museum. I wish there was any way to show it while being here.

Steve, you should get a nice shadow box made up and take her to whatever show is convenient to you. Way too nice work just to share with the likes of us!

I posted it on Modelwarships.com. They enhanced the photos so they are in better light. They look so good it's hard to believe I build it. Take a look.

Guys, I'm going to throw this on here, it's not kosher since she's at more than 50% but I already finished the Shiden so this one is 'just for the halibut'.

Anyway this is a 1/35th Finemolds Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank. Somewhere around 250-300 were built near the end of the war for homeland defense. None left Japan and none saw combat. This kit is a paper panzer with a longer version of the 75mm gun and an altered mantlet.

And the real thing:

Oh, and I did find this 'Girls und Panzer' clip and just had to post it!

She's looking good Gam! Look forward to seeing it completed! As the pic was loading I saw just the top bit of the turret and was hoping it was a Type 95 lol. I have a few pics of a couple intact examples and a pic of one missing the entire upper hull with a very clear view of the reason it was missing said structure lol. Took the pics when I was stationed on Guam back in '89-'90. Might post them anyway if I can find them.

After a couple of months of no ambition and working on my BLM/USFS management plan revision stuff (think 1200 pages each for 3 different plans and two more on the way), I got back after my girl today.  Had the camo grey belly done before, did the upper in army/navy green.  When dry will come back with the quicky white then the green crosses.  Front and rear canopies will be done off and then put on, get the SAC gear  and the kit props done and on and she will be done.  Another month should see her on the shelf and ready to take down to the Vets home as a sample and see it they want her for display.

Got some pics in the green and grey, will take more as I go white, and post up in a few days or next w/e.
