Thanks to everyone for the high praise!

Sorry for the poor quality pics though.  My phone was acting up last night.

I will post some better pics in just a minute.

But I have a question.  Since it has been such a very long time since I have been in a GB, how do I get the GB tag?

In the mean time, here are some better pictures;

Panzer that is not only GIGUNDO in size, it's GIGUNDO in looks too.

Cutting a few dozen, 54 to be exact, of these little rings from aluminum tubing and finishing the wiring took most of my snow day yesterday.

Here is the nearly completed engine.  I still need to work out the exhaust pipes since there is a difference in the set up for the Vector engine from the kit engine. But I think the kit parts will meld into this well enough, with some modification, to be able to mount the engine to the firewall with what will essentially be following the kit instructions.

Of the 78 resin parts in the bag, I've used 48 here.  Total parts count after all the wiring, fittings, spark plugs, rocker arm oil lines etc.   221.  I made the stand and base to display it, at least until it's time to install into the fuselage, since it is a completed model unto itself.

SWEET!!!!!!.  the badge should be on the roster post. since i am getting more into cool bases for my builds, have you considered putting a couple of dragon teeth in front? concrete gray. might add a bit of color and promote a story line. still think it looks cooler from the rear but consider the source.

Up in testing forums there is a thread  "GB Test" toward the bottom of the first page.  Should get you what you need.

Panzer and wing-nut - Those are some kick ass builds.  I am constantly impressed with the craftsmanship here in these GB's.  Well done guys!

@ Castlenuovo    - yes, come join us :-)

I forced myself to sit down and do some modling on the MiG's cockpit today, I felt meself becomming a lazy modler and had to do some work before it became to bad LOL

The detail is OK, I think it represents a 1960's Russian Jet quite well. I will post pix later.

Here it is. It is just a pity that they did not atleast supply a decal for the IP, I painted the backing black and scribed the detail on.

Still need to put a matt coat over the bangseat.

As seen in person people loved it at the model show!  I only lost to a well detailed Sherman with a full interior, but I'll take 2nd.

Welcome Doug

WOW Panzer.  Well done and well deserved.

Finally some "not engine" progress. Now that I am getting into the kit all I can say is WOW. Great detail and fit. All the stuff form the pit and tail wheel bay and the fuselage halves join perfectly.

WOW Panzer.  Well done and well deserved.

Thanks wing_nut. Your cockpit looks great. An awesomr job and great detail. I will get there one day. Keep up the work.

I took sometime off building the Panzer and worked on the crew. This is the first time that I have tried to paint the Eichenlaub camo scheme so be easy on me. Here are the photos.

With some careful fitting I got the 4 fuse sections together, hope I will not have to fill and sand to much...

I am starting to lean towards the Chinese AF scheme

Looks good theuns and i hpe the same for ya wilththe filling and snading.  And I am not trying to rub it in with my comments below...WhistlingStick out tongue

Started working on the exhausts by drilling them out so the pipes walls were scaled to 3/8" thick.

No putty needed and just a few wipes with a sanding stick was all that was needed for the fuselage.  This is without doubt one of the best fitting kits I've built

Wing Nut- that is one of the best looking and cleanest works of a cockpit that I've seen in a long time.

Everything is just right.    How'd you get such perfect glass bezels on the dials?

Hey Wing nut,no worries mate LOL. That is the difference between Trumpeter and Tamiya, But then the Trump only costa a fraction of the Tamiya so I can not really complain.

I do have the Tam 1/32 P-51 waiting to be built so I hope the quality will be the same as your Corsair.
