Theuns

I wonder if Tam will bring out a bubble canopy Corsair? I personally do not like the birdcage one.

Theuns

You're in luck! The 1/32 F4U-1A came out late last year. I've got one on the way actually!

Hey Theuns, looked at the name - and of course the avatar - and was sure you had to be from SA. Good to "meet" another!

I usually don't do this, but am busy on another GB with a subject that will both fit this GB as well, plus might have some mutual interest! Started off with a 77 Tyrrell P34 and then realised all the bits are in there to make a 76 version. So I am (very slowly!) busy building a Tamiya 1:20 Tyrrell P34 - Jody Schekter version, depicting the P34's only win in Sweden (and it was a 1-2 too boot!) Not doing any funnies, except converting it to the 76. Straight OTB build.

If it is okay to join this GB with that one as well, I'll jump in. Otherwise I will join later with another large scale one...

I wonder if Tam will bring out a bubble canopy Corsair?

Lord knows I don't know much... so i don't know if there ever was a Corsair with a bubble in the true sense like a P-51D, but the -1a was the 1st variation off the original with the bird cage and that was eliminated.

I'll get the badge ball rolling

Needless to say there were lots of photo choices to illustrate the concept but I would have been banned for sure Whistling

Tom, I have the same problem.....I have the Tam P-51, Trumpeter F4u1d, , Trumpeter MiG 19 PM and the WNW SE5a..............all of them deserve the best building skills I can muster so I am a tad "carefull" on witch one to buld LOL.

Guys, if you have ideas for a badge please post them, we can vote on it  :-)

Theuns

I'm glad I'm not the only one! So many kits, so little time. Full bore and a lot of free time dedicated, it still takes me 6 weeks to complete one "properly" to my standards. I have that Tamiya P-51 as well, and I just ordered the new Tamiya Corsair...

Dang it.

Guess I will have to see if I can clear my bench, hopefully by finishing something.

Thinking on this.

Mark, I'll put you on the list.I have the Tam 1/32 P-51 and the F-4u came out after it, so I am sure that Corsair has to be absolutely the pinicle of model engineering, very interested to see what yours look like.

HIND.....DO the HIND!!!  Loads of them here in Africa, damn ugly, crude, noisy but it gets down to buiseness :-)

Since I have the new 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1a that I was planning on starting in the next few weeks this looks like a good opportunity to jump back into the water. I'm so in.

I like them all, but the Hind is a very menacing beast.... the stuff of nightmares for ground pounders...

I can't decide whether I want to open up a AV-8B II+, F-15E, F-16C or Mil Mi-24V Hind E for this GB...

Anybody have an opinion to share on these choices?   I have several other options if none of these are exciting.

Wayne, I have you down for a 1/53 Blackhawk? It is a long GB , maybe you can tackle the BF 110 later...

Is that the Academy Blackhawk?

Theuns

since you opened up to everything please put me down for the TRUMPETER 1/35 K-5 RR GUN i am doing for the choo choo GB. at 38" not counting the low side gondola and diesel locomotive, i think that counts as BIG.

i have the ACADEMY and the ITALERI  BLACKHAWKs and a 1/48 ACADEMY SH-53. and i don't do airplanes.

Sounds like any version of the Mustang........

Oh.....well......hmmmm..... I have a GB starting in April and a Boeing Build in June. I may be a little booked....let me think about it. I'm afraid, like we discussed Theuns, I'm not sure of the participation. In fact I'm a little concerned regarding the Boeing Build participation.

Why don't you host a "Pony GB"  ?

I'd love to, but I'm not sure what that is.
