The fruits of my labor so far, 16 working suspension units.

Beautiful cockpit in there, Wing Nut.   Sorry about the cracked windscreen- can you get a replacement?

Just getting started and already dead in the water.

A quick mock up of some of the it parts to check fit and to see if the DPF (Drool Precipitation Factor) is being adequately met.  There was sufficient droolage.Stick out tongue

Then, in a classic movie style move when the nerd drops his glasses and there's a crunch sound, drool turns to tears after I crack the windscreen.Crying

I've opened the box and begun work on my 1/35 MiL Mi-24V Hind-E...   this certainly is a BIG model!

Length on the sprue is over 20".   I don't have pics yet, but I've started to build up some of the smaller assemblies and parts while I spend some time researching interior colors and details.   While I intend to build this OOB, I may add scratchbuilt items along the way instead of using any AM parts.

I think that a smart person could make this body into an R/C copter with little effort...

OK, here is what I'm going to start on. The 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D. My plan is to display in in a diorama with the pilot, William Whisner, along with a mechanic discussing the maintenance to his mount "Moonbeam McSwine" I want to lower the flaps, which will require some surgery, so this is the start of that process.

I think I'm going to break out the Hansa-Brandenburg. I'm waiting for a set of cockpit detail for the Crusader from UK, so, that'll be some time. Good chance to see what I'm in for during this monster build.

Still got a bit to go as far as sprucing up the cockpit. But I added some levers and boxes from plasticard and brass. I am still studying pics of the actual cockpit to get her as close as possible. Definateley better than she was oob.

Thanks Rob!  I'm having a lot of fun with this one.  I've always wanted to make the office area of my planes look better, I think I have finally got the hang of it, or at least getting there.

Thanks guys!  Here is another view.  Everything is straight out of the box.  The only additional details are the belts and the seat cushion/parachute.  The belts are made of lead foil from a wine bottle and the cushion is a piece of tissue folded up and then coated with 50/50 white glue/water and then brushed with MM acrylics and MM enamels.  I then coated everything with Alclad Aqua Gloss and applied a wash of Windsor Newton burnt umber.

Incredible..looks like it's chuck full of AM parts, but, it's OOB. Wow, great kit and great scratch building jelliot!

Great work everyone. Well here is the revell jug's pit. Pretty sparse, I will do what I can to liven it up. Thank goodness the time line for this build is long.

Everyone's started works look good so far, all I've gotten done is to look up foreign operators of the Hind... so far, i can make it Russian, Kazack, Ukrainian or North Korean with the decals at hand.

I really should start cutting sprues before I decide how to paint it.

B_One and Wayne, front page sorted now :-)

Wayne, I wish I could take a few days off but as a self employed aircraft Fabric teck I do not really have the luxury of doing that. No work - no pay you know LOL.

I must say this MiG 19 is one heck of a kit......I thought I might get it out relatively fast, but I will rather take my time and try do it the justice it needs.....it's not like there is a tight time limet anyway.

I have done some reserch to get good pix of the MiG's, what did we do before Google!

Wayne--I have a coupon for the HF compressor for $40.00 if you want it.  Just PM me an address and I can get it in the mail to you.

I know our navel stuff used to be cased ammo up to and including 6 inch, and shell, powder bags and some kind of primer set up for anything over that size

Nice, organized bench, Marc! I like how you separated the sprues. Instead of my method of just digging around in the box. Looks like you're set, with good AM as well. I look forward to following along with your build.

Wayne,

The rounds must be similar to navel rounds that come in two?? parts. The charge and the round? Is there anything else to a WWII navel round?

As far as the badge, I couldn't care less which one is picked. They are all just fine with me. I vote "present".

THEUNS my vote is AIM BIG BUILD BIG.

hope you get over your cold quickly. i may fnally be over mine. my suggestion; if you feel better give it a couple more days of rest. mine flared twice. i an going to give racquetball a go this morning.

MC The real ammo is 3 parts, not unusual for large rounds. the 8 on the right side or canisters but i am not sure what they are for? could be charge canisters. this ammo is AM resin, 2 sets.
