That's some amazing looking work Rob.

Now, I'm off. The fuselage is sealed. Got the engine done. Came home early from work and got tons done.

So, there it is. About 40 hours of work to close up the fuselage with a half dollar sized hole to see through!! Man, THIS is why I can do a dozen 1/72 planes in the same time as ONE WNW. They ARE awesome though!! More to come....

Thanks Steve. Once  I get the engine done and fuselage sealed, she's as good as done. She's mostly a massive decal and uni-coloured, so, she won't take long.

Well, for those who remember, I started the cockpit of the W.12 'WAY' back, actually, before I moved to Ottawa, so, EXACTLY 1 year ago tomorrow. Yup, my last work posted on here was 11 Feb 15...what a coincidence. Anyway, I'm back to this monumental build and I spent the evening on the intrument panel and engine mount. I did the same pencil crayon plywood technique with clear orange and then subdued a bit with brown. The instruments are ringed with silver and brass. There's detail on the backside as well, BUT, as I'm doing the dual Spandau version, the ammo boxes covered up all the effort I made back there. I got a pic before I covered it up. Here's my evening's work:

I'm back in the mode now...it's a daunting kit for sure! Yes, too expensive to not build...Smile

Hey Rob, buddy! Long time no see. I know exactly what you’re saying. I have tossed 2 kits because I was just not into them anymore. But your WNW kit is way too expensive to do that to. You'll get back into it, moving totally messing you up.

I hear you Rob, I also have a wnw se5 waiting to be built but it looks so good in the box I keep convincing myself I am not yet good enough to build it !

As for the "long term builds" I am busy with the 1/32 Tam P-51, I see all these nice builds of them on the forum and expect myne to just fal together in a week like the other Tam kits but allas.

Every time I think I make progress there is something else to add before the cockpit area is completed. It is not a difficult kit....there is just so much of it.

I have found thet when I cet into a slump building-wize I hall out a simple quick build and finnish that just to get the sence of "I completed a model" back.

Good luck with the build

Someday I'll get the 'energy' back to get onto my build...I just can't seem to get back at it Embarrassed I dunno what it is about these WNW models...they demand SO much that I can't seem to get into them. I've built several models since I started the Hansa and she still sits at the same phase as I left it. Anyway, after this 1/72 build I've got going I'm going to endeavour to get back at this!

As always Steve, she looks GREAT! I'm always excited to see your finished projects and the bases that you create along with them!Yes

I completed Moonbeam McSwine. She sits receiving some maintenance, while Bill Wisner, his crew chief and another pilot from the 352nd are in discussion. The Tamiya kit was an exceptional kit that lends itself to an enormous amount of detail. This build was dragging on some though and I just wanted to get it past the finish line.
Comments and critique’s welcome.

So here's a quick shot of my Bf-109G-6 Late that I've been working on. I've done a little bit of work since this was taken a few weeks ago. I've added a light wash and some more decals. Once I get a few other small bits added I'll be calling her done.

I was just browsing through the GB lists and forgot that I had joined this build. Sorry that I havent been updating with photos of the 109G-6. I'll have to get some photos done. I 've almost got her wrapped up. Just need to add a few more small decals and details and she'll be done.

Theuns,

Yeah, I thought it would be finished months ago. It is an intense build and I still need to get the pilots and mechanic painted then build the base. I'm giving 100% to it so I should be able to get it across the finish line fairly soon.

Holy cow that looks stunning! I wish mine was even close to that stage.....when I started it I thought I was going to be done by now but the build is way more intence than I initially expected. I have boxed it for a little while till I can give it the attentention it deserves.

With that finish you got there I hope you will be joining us in the nmf "metal master GB''   ;-)

When you are done please let me know so I can post a pic on the front page ad you are welcome to a badge.

Theuns,

Here is Moonbeam so far. I added the decals and beginning the weathering. I still need to add some more oil wash and some pastels, but I wanted to put up an update.

It's all your fault Steve!   LOL
I just HAD to sit down for 1/2 hour now and do some work on the mustprang's cockpit...not allot ,just painted a few of the "boxes" that go on the sidewalls and assemled the glareshield.

It's like eating an elephant....one little bite at a time.

Steve,

Beautiful job on your DR-1. Bow Down  Wonderful detail and perfect setting...and the Baron looks great. You always produce some great looking models. I would love to be able too see some of your "dio" work.

Wing_Nut great job on your Corsair....Nicely weathered and battle proven.

It had been the hottest day in the past 130 years!

The extreme drought is also very bad with some people dying in line waiting to get drinking water.....Africa can be a rather harsh place sometimes :-(

I totally understand. After my move this last year, it took a few months to get back into it, and I used to work in a hot manufacturing plant manufacturing locomotives. It really drains your energy.

Cool no worries Steve, please continue :-)

I have totally lost steam with my mustprang, moving house over December and constant heatwaves of around 40 plus celcius and working in a hot hanger all day has taken it's toll...

Theuns,

I don't mind, but you might as well let it run its course to the end of the month. My 1/32 P-51 May be complete by then. I did finish the Fokker so I at least completed something.

Hi all.

It seems that people's steam might have run out on this GB?

Will there be any objection to shutting it down?
