They look so nice there Then everything happened As soon as they were out of the box, the hand on snapped off and went flying. I thought no problem he lost it when a morter landed next to him. I wrapped it up and loaded him on the chopper. Then the other day I thought those blankets don't look right sticking straight out from the stretchers, so I started cutting the blankets off when the guys whole arm went flying off to never never land *&^%^&. Yea said that I know, I could bandage that up and load him on the chopper. But we Never seen that on the movie or the Mash TV show.

OKay Here it is, I finally started it. I think I'm going to use a lot!! of tape!! That mat is over 12 inches square

Well I started on the KC-135 about two weeks ago. I did not bother painting up the interior since none of it will be seen.

As I suspected the airplane is resting on the two inboard engines.

I ended up putting tension of the wings with good ol duct tape and slowly heated the wing root till she started to bend upwards.

I seperated both MLG trucks from the struts and added a plastic spacer to help with engine to ground clearnce.

In the end I got my clearance and dihedral all in one.

KC-135 is looking good. i should start on my OTS  JGSDF PATRIOT next week unless i switch and do a helo.

I'm getting so many different pictures of B 52s on google, That I don't know whats what on the different B-52s. Would this be typical of a SAC B-52? Or would they be strictly the natural finish on the top and white underneath? I like this dark gray color. What would the color be under the flaps and other parts? I'm seeing yellow zinc chromate and even black in the pictures.

It depends on which time frame you want to build. The Buff has been around so long it has seen many changes.

The natural aluminum was the first "paint" scheme when it was a high altitude penetrator. Followed by the camo, I believe south east asia camo, when it started low level penetration. Now it is in the grey camo.

I belive that the interior parts were zinc chromate. They could have changed then though.

B1, that KC is looking great! nice paint so far.

"SAC" or Strategic Air Command no longer exists.  The natural metal scheme with the white bottom (called Nuclear Flash White) was used back at the height of the cold war nuclear era.  That scheme also included the colorful SAC band and badges and is certainly my favorite scheme.  Note, however, that is as far as I know, the metal/while scheme was worn only by older B-52 models such as the E models with the taller tail.

The current USAF is organized in Squadrons and Wings and the B-52s wear the scheme like you pictured - overall Gunship Gray FS36118 http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=36118&fs2=34086&fs3=36081

Okay, Is this a D model? the box mentions only the D model. Does it have the taller tail? Thanks for the info on the  B-52s. I appreciate it. It can be tough when you are not around the subject you are attempting to duplicate.

That's a D model http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/kit_rm_5709.shtml.  You can do quite a variety of schemes on it but not the Gunship Gray :(

Wouldn't the tail just need to be cropped for an H? The chin sensors would also need to be added.

I'm afraid it's a lot more than the tail and chin pods.  The engines are totally different, the wings are different (but maybe no one would notice) and there are a lot of other bumps and antennas that have changed.
