Boeing Build

The 738 has ist's decals on, they were extremely thin and difficult to seat without wrinkling.

I am slowly beating this thing into submition...

Yeah, I learned to hate yellow on a big banana Cormorant several months back. The original yellow was too lemony so I filtered it with trans orange. 

Nice, Theuns. I hate, and I think everyone agrees, decals on curved/irregular surfaces too!

Rob I'm loving that lil Peashooter!! I built one of those years ago and I think I got it for like 89cents along with a 1/72 Revell PT-17 for the same price. Still have them at my brothers place in a drawer.

Here's a quick update on the Mud Hen, got the fuse buttoned up and parts for next step off sprues and cleaned up ready to go. Hope to get some bench time tonight to tackle the seams. It actually wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. Fit was actually pretty fair. Here's a pic

Looks great so far Simpilot...Yeah, the little Peashooter was like $6 at the LHS.

I regret that I got into the build today and forgot to take pics after I got the decals on...ooops, Sorry Steve....

I'm skippin' right to done. A true 'weekend build' for sure.

And for a demo of Scale...LOL

So, yeah, a bit quick, but, I needed to get some bugs out and get something done. Superbly horrible little kit, but, it was from 82, so, yeah, lots of flash and ill fitting parts, but, I pursuaded it to the finish. Thanks Steve, my apologies for 'coppin out' of the airliner and substituting for a spit of a build. I will, get up to the airliner challenge soon. Thanks for lookin'

Rob, SWEET build man  !! The rigging just had to be a bear. That looks way better than the 1/48 I did last year. You really jumped right back in the game here.

Thanks guys, I hope I'm over the hump now with this post move slump. I pulled out my next build and have it ready to start. I can't, however, get up the gumption to get back on my big Wingnut bird. That will have to wait cuz the amount of concentration needed for that is not yet present!

Disater struck on the X-20. I was decaling tonight and most of them are shatering.

I'll have to find some aftermarket ones.

Thanks Mach..yeah, I've had the good 'ole decal disintigration disaster! Sux...I know.

Sorry Mach, just don't get them from Federation Models. They sent me those yellow and disenegrating decals for the Bird of Pray and they still haven't answered my email or phone calls.  I'll never order from them again. They stuck me with $28 of trash. I ended up ordering them from JT graphics, although he hasn't sent them yet or answered my email either..

I've bought from JT before and it was quality stuff. Good luck.

I'll head to the LHS and see what he has. It's all generic stuff. I mostly need a

U.S. AIR FORCE 2 1/4 in X 5/8 in and some standard AF numbers

Beautiful Peashooter!  I actually considered building 1 for this GB.  Took me about 3 seconds to push it back into the box.

 

Good job on the peashooter.

I've been looking for replacement decals, but no luck. White US AIR FORCE decals are hard to come by. Finally I picked up a Revell SR-71 for the decals. They are a tad smaller than the kit ones but work.

Ill let the decals set and put a clear coat on next week. Then it should be final assembally.

That's really looking like a x-plane now Mach. Good thing Bish replyed to your post, I had no idea or heads up you had posted. Sometimes this new website seems to miss things.

Wow Mach that turned out pretty good. Glad the SR-71 kit decals worked out.

The wounded soldiers are here they need to patched up real fast and be loaded on the chopper

I am calling this build done, I am not happy with the final result but being my first "bus" I have learned allot.

I think you did a great job Theuns. That orange couldn’t have been easy and you hard to deal with contouring those decals, and keep your paws off the winglets. Airliners aren’t as easy as most people think. There's a lot more to them than meets the eye.
The GB still haves a long way to go so if you want to jump in with anything else, you’re welcome to. There are numerous ideas for Boeing.
