Well, I have made my decision. Put me down for the Tamiya 1/35th Challenger I.

Edit: Guys, Stick is having some issues at the moment. What with work, connection issues and the new forum, he is finding it hard to keep track of things. So, with his permission, i will be useing this post as a temp roster and for completed pics. This way it will be easier for him to see who has joined and who has completed there builds so he can add them to the proper roster when he is able.

Temporary Roster & Completed builds.

OK,OK, I'll jump in with a 1/72 Academy F-14A Tomcat not the A plus. I just need to find some low vis decals for one of the 8 squadrons that flew them. It's tougher than you think.

OK gents, the roster is updated with your selections for now.

Bish, it is brave to put ANY AFV up against a Chally. IIRC, in that war a Challenger achieved the longest range recorded confirmed tank kill, at over 5100m!

Ye, I believe so. Its a lovely bit of kit. I had the luck of being able to check out some of their IR kit on one occasion and ride on top of one on another. One of there best tricks was creating a smoke screen by injecting fuel onto the hot exhausts while it reversed out of a position.

They have what we call a boiling vessel behind the gun. But when they are firing SABOT, they have to remove the vessel or the increased re coil would crush it. I don't have much first hand experience with other tanks to compare with, apart from seeing leopard 2's in Wales, but the Chally is one lovely bit of kit.

I'm in for the Tamiya 1/35 Iraqi T-55 'Enigma'. If things go well and there is more time, maybe I will be able to knock off that F-15 or something else. Just got to wait for that start date; kit and Vallejo paint in hand already.

You're welcome Dan. Yes, my BMP should be a quick build. So I might add an Iraqi Air Force subject afterwards just to keep in the game and give them some representation as well in the GB.

Stick, could you please change my entry to Land Rover Series III (109"/LWB). The Piranha I wanted to enter with doesn't come with Desert Shield/ Storm markings as it is depicted on the box art but only with UN and European camouflage colors Sad.

It's very tempting to join this build, cuz it would give me an excuse to build a USAF M60A3 Patton.....but I haven't the time.

For those interested, here's a nice list of equipment used during the Gulf War by the participants. en.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_Gulf_War_military_equipment
