i do a lot of warwheels and \trucks in 1/35. this is my first truck  in OTS. i got it to practice on Aoshima before getting others which, of course, did not work out as planned as i stare at my Aoshima OTS  stash which includes a PATRIOT, TANK TRANSPORTER, 2 TYPE 74s, and the 8x8 AFV. OTOH i could build an OTS JASDF aeroplane to park next to my tanker. Plus an annual local is coming up and i have done quite well in this scale.

plastic one piece wheels which are hollow on the inside as are the bottoms of vehicle cargo boxes. wouldn't be seen on a base but i will fill them in. shouldn't be all that bad. it isn't camouflaged so that's good. i have Tamiya JSGSDF OD but will look for an MMA or Vallejo match so i can brush touch up easier.

Great sign me up solong for an Amodel TU 128 . will be out the box in alclad.

Holy cow this Amodel 128 is a bad kit :-( The fit is bad and the parts are full of flash. It will not be the shake and bake kit I was hoping for....will take allot of work to get right.

I might have to substitute it for a fast easy build to get some build *** back.

here is the basic wing and cockpit asssemblies.

The cockpit will be very bare but that is OK< not much to be seen through the small canopies anyway.

Wayne please also putme down for this 1/72 Academy 1/72 T-6. It will also be a fast no frills build most likely in South African AF scheme.

Thanx

Shake and bake, three words that until now, have never been uttered in the same sentence as Amodel.  I'll be down for something, just don't what.

Wane,

Put me down for the 1/72 Italeri/Tamiya F-14A Tomcat I'm going to build for Stick's Gulf War GB. I won't get to it for a little while though.

If you like Amodel, you'll love Mach 2.  Unfortunately, like Amodel, the kits they produce are usually the only game in town.  Wayne, put me down for an ancient (raised panel lines) Hasegawa F-14A.  Now to find me some Jolly Roger decals to go with the Zero I'm building for the Pearl Harbor build.

pics don't show it but everything is now primed and ready to paint. chassis is black, exhaust is metallic gray or aluminum, upper body is JGSDF OD at least the Vallejo AV equivalent, and cab top is canvas so a slightly lighter OD for contrast. wheel hubs should be black but will be OD for wash effects. this won't be dirtied up much.

Not a huge amount to report on with this build, the cockpit is just dressed up with tamiya tape belts.

painting looks better. ready to start putting the big parts together. started with mounting the tires, applied too much pressure and snapped a differential in half. that created a 15 min fun fix and now the right front tire is  just a bit too high. not going to try to fix it but it looks like this will be parked on dirt instead of concrete. looking for a 1/72 JASDF helo now. there are some CH-47s but  all seem to be back ordered.

painted. upper is Vallejo  olive gray which ls close to Tamiya JGSDF od. chassis is black. canvas top is a Vallejo german green which also looks close to Tamiya JGSDF green. mirrors wont be on until after decals and most of the weathering because i know i will knock them off. learned a lot for the next OTS builds

one thing i will do in the future is paint the edge of the windows black so the thickness is hidden a bit.

decals were amusing maybe because i don't like doing them and get impatient. one slipped on me and i damaged it moving it back. not too badly as it's a Japanese character at 1/72 so there is more forgiveness with broken "text". also some silvering again my fault. first time i airbrushed a flat coat and, like Vallejo paint, it looks much better after it dries. now for the fun part, washes and weathering. i  think one front tire sits .5mm off the ground after fixing the differential i broke so a base is due. if i can find one of the JASDF or JGSDF CH-47s i will use that and dust up the truck from rotor wash.

Wayne, that is a cool idea with the window's edges.

Here is the T-6 sofar. The kit has one mistake though, the arrow shows the starbord elevator to have the tab actoator on the top. This should be on the bottom.

The t-6 has only one elevator that gets swapped arround.

Hey Wayne! I now have a model (or three) to add to this that I got at the Nationals. First is a Modelcollect T-90 with welded turret; then I have a tractor and trailer for my V-2 rocket. Gonna see how many I'll be able to finish.

Sweet! I went to Nationals with the specific intent to buy that (among others) and couldn't find it. No one had one! I'll be looking forward to seeing it built. Meanwhile, I have to catch up on stuff at home after unpacking, but I hope to be back at the bench in a day or so.

Okay, here's my submission to this Group Build:

1/72 scale Modelcollect T-90 tank with a welded turret:

Well, I finally found time to get to the workbench after all this time. Now I managed to get enough progress to show here. It ain't much but it's a start.

I started by assembling the road wheels and then gluing them with Gator's Grip Glue to the (metal) lower hull:

Since I couldn't get the road wheels to line up properly, I adopted a radical solution: I placed this in a vice and carefully tightened it up until all the road wheels were aligned:

Yeah, crazy idea, but it worked! I doubt I'd try this on a plastic-hulled tank though...

Like I said, not much done, but I hope to get more done on this soon. Stay tuned!

" you can crossover with the OTS GB i am running too.

Actually since the Thor is in your RR GB and my Artillery GB, I thought it might be nice to put my lonely Sd. Kfz. 7/1, which isn't in anything and will be accompanying the Thor, in your OTS GB. Looking through the directions, it looks pretty involved. It’s rated a level 4 by Revell.

Welcome OWL

DUKE interesting technique. i snapped the front differential on the bowser with just my fingers.

THEUNS the masking must be tedious but feels goo when it;s done.got the roster updated, i think. picked up one of those nagging colds, not bad enough to stay home from work but not feeling great either.

I hear you Wayne, I work for myself so even if I feel like doodoo I still need to work in a cold hanger sometimes......the boss just doesn't want to give me off LOL

I have the decals for this and another T-6 in the mail, but here in SA one is never sure they will acytually deliver. Not like you guys "no rain ,no sleet.no snow" thing. Here they either strike for 4 months or have no fuel for the delivery trucks.....just hope I get them soon

Wayne I seem to have picked one of those colds up as well. I feel fine except for sore throat and cough and some lightheadedness. It has slowed me down a bit from working on the bench but I'm hoping to shake this soon.
