Im building the Zero alongside a bf-109e for the BoB-GB, fyi. Here are both little birdies buttoned up!

a little bit of putty was required to smooth everything out. There was a fair bit of gappage on the underside of the Zero, where the flaps met the wing. But all in all, the fit of parts is good! That was really the only trouble area, and Im not sure if it was due to the kit itself, or just user error. Dunce

Im going for a beaten up Zero. The markings are for a bird from '44, so thinking things were getting tough on the japanese at this point, and their planes showed that.

I 'primed' the model with krylon silver, and once that cured, I painted on a splotchy, faded finish with my ususal testor enamels.

Once the enamels were just barely dry to the touch, I laid down bits of tape where I wanted the chipping to be. TUG! off goes the paint! Ill add a nit more chipping once the decals are down, so everything matches

both little birdies are now ready for decals!

Duke, Your welcome. the west store didn't have an atomic cannon so going with plan D, as soon as the directions dry out from dumping a glass of white wine on them. scan the instructions sprue picture, measure gun barrel and scale it up.

Really nice job on that KC-135R. That's a big project, and it looks like you've finished it very cleanly.

Nice progress on the 109 and Zeke, Owl.

Here's abit of progress on my Revell Hunter F6. The first photo shows it all masked up as I spray the wing root intakes aluminium.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Got some Invader work done today. Fuselage and nose went on fine. The front windscreen was just 'ok' had to do some filling as there was quite a gap near the front. The rear dorsal window piece was not good. The fuselage and window did not mate well. Poorly molded me thinks. Anyway, it's also just 'ok' and I can feel good about it now.

Trying Vallejo's new metalizer acrylics on this build. I've heard good things form the folks at my local IPMS so I'm gonna switch from USAF olive green/black nose from box art to the French NM option. This is actually a cool choice as it add 4 more .50's under the wings in two dual mount pods, so, more guns. This plane will have a total of 18 MGs when it's done. What a beast.

Installed all clear pieces with the pain mentioned above and masked with black BMF.

I decided to prep the plane with Tamiya black. You can spray the Vallejo direct on the plastic, but, I was warned it's brittle and will come off with a touch, so, I'm trying the undercoat method.

I am trying something different this time. I'm doing the wings and fuselage as separate builds then bringing them all together at the end. I am happy to report that the Vallejo metalizer acrylic is super easy to work with and I am a believer. It's pricey at $12 a bottle, but, well worth it for the control you have with the AB. I was a rattle can Tamiya aircraft aluminum guy for years!

Great work there guys, been quiet here. I managed to get most of the decals on. Though the kit decals have been causing grief with cracking.

Owl,

The more I see that Zeek the more I like it, good job girl!

Wayne,

Here is my little Kublewagen for the Mortar dio. You can remove my F14, that'll have to wait till the next OTS GB.

There's some great work on this page. I love the weathering on the Kubelwagen, and the wing tips on the Zeke, nice one Owl.

I've heard a lot of talk about those Vallejo metalisers at my club ROb, I'm going to go down that road too. Yours looks really good.

Wayne, can you put me down for anotehr couple of Hunters please

Both are based on the Revell Hunter FGA Mk 9 kit, the 1st will be a Mk 58, the Swiss export version, the 2nd will be converted to a Mk 50, the Swedish export version, which is similar to an F Mk 4.

It uses the Wolfpack Design conversion kit to change the leading edge slats and wing tips, shown in the 2nd photo.

What I am trying to do is build 5 Aerobatic team Hunters, these are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the series.

Cheers

Tony

I'm seeing it too and it doesn't make sense. It also makes it impossible to navigate this Thjread if I want to go back and check something. Maybe someone should let the Admin know.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go get my badge for this Group Build.

not just you Owl. it looks like the numbers to the right of the 0 take you to that page. it also looks like all the numbers to the left of o tyake you to the first page.

i think i got the first page updated. nice work everyone. school is over for the year, election judge is over for the year. looks like some serious glue sniffing time. also looks like i have to field strip my airbrush from non use and using Vallejo paints. nothing serious except the potential to lose small parts.

the site has been 'bizzare' since the change. I used to track 'my discussions' and it would list anything I was currently 'discussing'. After the change, 'my discussions' only tracked what I had started as a post, then switched to anything currently discussing, now, today, it's back to the way it was before the change....getting confused Zip it!

Yeah, they should field test this before setting it up for us to use first. Man, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I get so tired of things like this.
