Well son of a b-, it worked. I copied the GIF into postimage and inserted it into my signature. My guess is the Forum doesn't like Google photos where I host my pics.

Thanks for the info on the GIFs. I am now breathing a little easier.

Success!  At least from my end!  I was initially getting a "503" message over at postimages, and none of the pictures appeared right away.  

Mark:  I got your Zero uploaded to postimages, which I use for photo hosting, and it went up fine on the finish photo roster of the GB when I inserted it here at FSM.

If you're still having no joy with your GB badges, I don't know what the problem might be.

Anyway--thanks for your participation in the '41 GB.  It's a sharp looking Zero!  Good job building it!

Mark:  you need to upload the GIF to a photo hosting service--like postimages (which still doesn't seem to be working up to par).  Then, there will be a "direct link" designation/name affliated with that image.  Copy that designator.

Go to the "settings" option and open it.  

Click on the "insert/edit image" button on your "signiture" and paste that designator from the photo hosting site into the "source" box.  Click the "OK" button and scroll down to the "update settings" at the bottom of that page.  Click it and it should load the GIF into your signiture.

If that doesn't work, then there must be something else going on that the tech people here at FSM might be able to solve.  I've never had a "validation error" pop up, so I don't know what that means.

While typing up this response, I see that postimages seems to be working now, so I'll see if your finish photo of the Zero can go up now.

Hope things work out, but I'm pretty ignorant computer-wise.

I make GIF's out of every ten group builds, then load each one into a new GIF.  That seemed to work, and there's enough room for ten GIF's of ten each--for a total of 100 GB's (if I'd ever make it that far!).

Unfortunately, postimages seems to be off at the moment.  I'll give it a while to correct itself, then try again.

I haven't had any problems before; no one here has mentioned it--so I don't know what the issue is.

Update:  I checked around the net and it seems to be inaccessible to everybody right now.

Yeah, I hate that too when something drastic happens at the very tail-end of the building process.  Good for you that you managed to repair the damage.

Here is the completed Zero...

My enthusiam was dampend when nearing finish line, as I was adding a little weathering, I managed to drop the model onto the floor...AAAARRRGGGHHH!

Just a little minor damage, but really, just about a half an hour from finishing...jeesh.

Well, anyway calling this one done and onto 1942 and 1943. I will post on the '43 thread my submissions. Thanks for looking.

Good job, Mark.  That's a sharp looking color on the Zero.  

Decalling the zero in progress, with a long way to go...

The prop and cowl are complete, the canopy needs sopme clean up...

Great work, Mark.  Looks good.  You certainly put a lot into masking the canopy!

The paint is on and the preshading is almost covered up completely...almost. It doesn't show well in the pics but its there. 

The canopy is masked, painted and clear coated (with a satin finish)...

Now its onto gloss coat and decals...

Everything looks good, Mark.  Should turn out to be a spectacular paint scheme.  Nice work!

An updatye on my Zero. I am painting this with Tamiya IJN Grey green. With model molded in dark green I wanted to first prime with a light color to help cover that dark green. So I opted fopr Tamiya flat white.

This will be the first time I've used Tamiya paint. Yeah hard to believe I know. But my purpose of using white as a primer is two fold. As I said above I wanted the airframe color to be easier to cover the dark green plastic and I wanted to try something I have done before...preshading.

I want the effect to be subtle, not overly pronounced. I don't know how this is going to work out, but we'll see after the grey/green goes on.

Excellent!  The photos are showing up now, Mark--even the ones from your earlier posting.  Whatever you did, it worked.

And things look like they're progressing very well in the build.  Brings back memories seeing the "classics" still around and coming together so well.

I cannot see the photos, though when you originally posted them I was able to.  I think you're using a Google account if I saw the links correctly.  I will note that Lostagain had this problem with photos in the "Japanese VIII GB".  Check his last posts for information.  You might wish to check your "share" settings, as Piers related that was the problem on his end.

Hmmmm.  I still can't see them; still the little minus sign in a circle.  Don't know if it's something with my computer or another issue. 

We just cleared out the "cookies and cache," so I don't know if that had any effect or not.
