Thanks Duke and MC!! Yeah I'm looking forward to getting to the paint stages myself, I know what I'm up against, but looking forward to seeing the work come together, and it will be work. I've been hanging to do an Italian camo! Wanted to do an Mc.202 or 205 with smokerings, but unfortunately they are still MIA after my move. Anyways here's a few pics of the work from last night. EnjoyToast

Finished up the office and ready for installation, after I paint the underside of the floor, as there is a decent sized upside down canopy just aft of the front engine. Poor bombadier's head would be ringing sitting there LOL.

Washed the innards with Citidel Nuln Oil to make an otherwise monochrome interior pop a little, might be a bit stark in a few places but most of it won't be seen, and in doing the wash, the prolific large ejector marks also popped out , as I said... most of it won''t be seen, so, good enough lol

Getting back to it and getting the radio rack decals on, operator's seat next to it and maybe start putting the side window acetates (yes, acetates)Censored in. Why yhey didn''t mold them in with the rest of the clear stuff is beyond me.

This is so cool, I'm going to enjoy watching this one.

I also have a MC-202 with a PE flap set I am looking forward to getting to. It will be done in the "fried egg" camo. It's a 1/48 so I won't be doing it here.

Wow Steve and Sim - my Spitty is looking pretty tiny compared to those super-sized birds.

Both the Mariner and the Pip are looking fine so far.  Looking forward to seeing how you do the squiggle scheme on that one Sim.  Very nice interior detail work.

I finished the Spitfire Mk. V on Wednesday night, But I need do do some picture editing before I post the completed glamour shots, but they will be up in the next day at the latest.

What next ?   . . .  Well, in my rather spastic build world I've got quite a few kits at a lot of different points in the process.  Most of them started in 2015.  The A6 has been a shelf queen for at least 2 years.  Time to finish some of these off. . .

. . . a nearly completed Harrier GR 1, a P-47 bubble top and a razorback, A P40-E and -N, a Swordfish with a kit-provided folded starboard wing, and an A6 Prowler with an attempt at a scratchbuilt folded starboard wing.    I'll have to give this some thought.  . . . and then there's this unstarted kit in my stash . . . .

Complete them all this year ?  No way !    But this GB has motivated me to progress in the right direction.  Thanks to all !   Keep up the good work !

Some more work on the base. I sanded the gel with 150 grit to knock down the peaks. This also allows me to see how the waves are coming.
Next I added a second coat of gel.
The build is coming right along. The only thing left are the gun turrets, then the painting starts.

MC Thanks mate! I'm excited as well! This isn't a bad kit at all! I really am looking forward to the painting. Look forward to seeing your Mc.202 at some point. The work you are doing on that base is making me seaIck! lol. That's awesome!!

Bossman Thank you! You have quite a little stable there! Looking forward to seeing some of them complete!! Like MC, my incompletes aren't that many but I think i'm pushing it lol.

Ok, I stand corrected about my misgivings of the little round acetate side windows, they actually are a little gem!! I held the fuse halves together for a quick trial fit and you could actually see through them with absolutely no distortion, how many kit transparencies can claim that?! Glued them in with some Pacer Formula '560' canopy glue.

The office and rear floor are installed and the radio rack decals on with operator seat.

...and got the gloss on the Camel. Going to decal soon once it cures for a day or two.

Might end up throwing this one in the lot as well. Kawanishi E7K1 I started about 2 1/2 years ago.

I'm really interested in the subjects being built on here at the moment. I've never seen those SM81 and Mariner kits built before, so I'm really enjoying them. I love submarines, so the U Boat is a great topic for me too.

Here is an update on my Hunter GA11 conversion. After much rescribing, and even more distractions to other models, I've finally got the primer coat completed to my satisfaction.

I'll spray the underside gloss white tomorrow, weather permitting.

Cheers

My model club had a build day today, so I spent 5 hours building. I think it's known as Spitfire Fever. I started three 1/72 Spitfires during the day. In my enthusiam I omitted to take commencement photos.

One was an Academy Spitfire XIV, and two more Airfix Spitfire XIXs.

One of these Spitfire XIXs will be finished in Thai colors, and I think the other will be in BBMF colors.

Cheers

ALLRIGHT !  MORE MODELS !  (Sorry for the volume - Just got a little excited there)

Sim - those acetates do look very nice and clear.  The inerior is coming together with some nice detail.  One question: what's the round hole in the floor for ?  Neither of the profiles show a turret.

Tony - the hunter looks good.  Can't really see your re-scribing work in the photos, but it looks very clean.  How is that Academy Spitfire kit ?  I've seen that one in the local shop and considered buying it.  I've usually been pretty happy with the detail and fit of Academy kits.

Well - here are my 98% completed pics.  I thought I was done when I took them.  Then I realized after looking at them that I forgot to paint the wingtip lights.  At some point I may add an antenna wire too.

Any critcism/critique is welcomed and encouraged.

Bossman, nice work on the Spit!Yes

Not much done on the gun truck, other than sanding off the rivets on the sides so the hill billy armor can be applied, she is now the color of Tamiya grey primer, rather than grey plastic.  I did realize I had forgotten to do something before addidng the suspension.  In whatever lack of wisdom, forethought, planning, etc., the kit's floorboards are open at the top.  This isn't apparent when looking at the kit when it is upright, it is pretty noticeable when looking at it from the bottom side.  In the last one I started, I remembered to add some strip stock and block them off, this time I forgot.  Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

With a two and a half day holiday ahead, this little gem might actually be finished in a week or so.  The really fun part will be masking off the windshield on the inside, as the cab is made of clear plastic.  If only I could find some 1/72 stowage, thinking maybe an Igloo cooler, some water bottles, packs, etc.

Wow, some awesome work being done here; loads of excellent models in progress

Chris, that pic above showing your WIP's is only one third the size of mine. Granted I have a number of armor models, along with a space shuttle, two aircraft, and about five or six ships. Looking forward to seeing some of those done.

Keep up the excellent work guys, I love seeing all this activity here. Soon I hope to find the time to shoot the pics of my two completed models for this Group Build.

Stay tuned!

ToastThanks guys!

Chris The lil spit came out great! One thing I noticed , I hope it's just the camera angle or something, but looks like the top prop blade is a bit angled forward. Looks great anyways! Oh , the hole in the floor is for a turret yes, it's a retractable one. The instructions says both turrets were. Lol suppose it could use all the drag reduction it could get.Propeller

Lewbuddddd!!!! How are ya? The lil hummer is looking great, saw what you meant about the openings. Eh, right side up and turned away from you, heyyyy it dissapears!!!Clown

With a three-day weekend and me with a healing foot, I’m stuck inside the house. So with that, I should be able to get some work done on the several builds I’ve got going.
So I wanted to show what the Mariner looks like in it’s base at the moment. I noticed I needed a second wake so I added it using gel. When this is dry I will add another coat of paint and start with the acrylic varnish to add depth and shine. Of course the will be cotton added for spray.
Just a little more filler on the Mariner and she will be ready for paint. I will install the turrets after the paint has been applied and paint them separately.

Looking great MC!!! Really looking foward to the paint!!!Yes

Not much to report here today, plugged away a lil bit. Got the gun bits cut away and cleaned up (but honestly?! 4 bits per gun in 1/72? One piece each would have been nice lol), and dipped the turret glass in future, curing now. Unfortunately I have to add the turrets before I would like to as they have to be trapped in the fuse by putting the halves together, so have to fully do them up to the camo stage before installing and try and paint around them without snapping them.Whistling Checked the gloss on the Camel and still not fully hard, yet another day and hopefully will be good to go.

I wondered how you were going to account for the propellers. Now I don't have to ask. Cool

Plugged away last night and got the turrets masked they are ready for the interior color then the sand top coat. After painting I will (try) to install the guns. The turrets are quite literally buckets and are deeper than your average turret clear parts. If it gets too much might just have to glue everything to hold it all in while adding all the parts.

Oh, the Camel gloss has cured and now ready for decals YIPPEE!! So will be getting some pics up of the progress probably later tonight or tomorrow. Then the process of getting the top wing and gear on. Starting to see the end of the tunnel ahead for this one.

Well the decals for the Camel could get a golf ball through a garden hose!!CensoredBang HeadAngry They aren't thick but bloody won't settle down over anything. gonna have to get some heavier artillery for these buggers. Oh, in the pic, if the tail flash looks oversize, IT IS!!Bang Head Ommmmmm Ommmmmmm big breath. The oversized tail flash is easy to take care of I know but I shouldn't have to, usually they are just a hair under.and the stripes that go up the sides and on the top of the fuse don't line up right without making the sides completely out of whack. Grrr time for a BeerToast I suppose that's what you get for $7. Yes, there's a gap at the wingroot too. This one is just a pick my *** up build, not going all out just gonna get one finished.

might stop here on this one till i get some good setting solutions, I think I may have some Micro set and sol somewhere.

Well I hopped back onto the SM.81 today and got a little bit done. Sprayed the turrets interior green and then the darkish tan top coat for the top turret. Then discovered I didn't have the right gray for the bottom turret. I have several grays but nothing exaclly what I need. I have the iModelkit app on my phone and it has a paint mixer feature and can choose brands of paint to match FS,RLM,ANA,etc references and a calculator to try and color match. Anyways the closest i could get was a mix of Tamiya's I have on hand so will test shoot it and see how it looks before committing. The turrets. The green one will be gray when I get the right hue.

Got a little sub-assembly work done. Once I get the turrets painted and gun breeches in the fuse gets buttoned up and the wings go on.

NOW, I have a quiz lol, I want to see if anyone can pick up the problem I discovered in the instructions for this bird. I wrote a note as a clue so see if the penny drops.

Luckily my construction technique avoided an oh Censored situation.

No hole in part 31A for the prop shaft :)

Do I get a prize ?

I've done some work on my Hunter. Completed construction. There were some pin holes in the resin that were a little troublesome, but got there.

Primed with Tamiya aerosol fine white primer.

Underside is Tamiya gloss acrylic white.

Masked and sprayed the flouro panels.

more to come....

Cheers

Looking great Tony!! Can't wait to see the colors it'll be!! Lol no that's not the answer for the quiz, as there isn't a hole in 30a below it either. I'll just say this, in saying there isn't holes in those parts, look at the sequence of construction they show. If constructed their way I won't be able to put 39b on, which is the lil ring that keeps the props from falling out.Oops lol

OK, back to the update. I went ahead and put the waist guns in, but in a stowed position as I will have the doors shut. Added the turrets, and test fitted. Found that the belly turret having to set retracted sat far enough in, and the clearance around the fuse was too tight with my masking on, reluctantly had to unmask. When the final dull coat goes on will have to be a lil extra careful. the masking worked so happy with that. Fuse fit was very good, looks like it will just take a tiny smear hear and there and maybe just some Mr. Surfacer rubbed down to make the seam-onsters dissapear. Anyways here's the pics.

Simplot,

It's really starting to look like something now. It looks like it was protected pretty well defensively for a small bomber. Good thing for the US and Brittan those guns weren’t 50's.

Thanks mate! Yeah wings going on next once I tidy up the fuse tomorrow night. Yes LOL Amen brother! I know it was built just before the Spanish Civil War but come on, what looks like Lewis guns for the waist gunners? Might as well been peashooters lol.

Okay, as promised; here is my submission for this Group Build.

This is my 1/72 scale German SS-100 Gigant tractor I built to tow my V-2 Rocket:

Since I had this tractor, I needed the trailer for it to use to carry the rocket. Here is my 1/72 scale Mitraellierwagen holding the V-2 Rocket:

Finally, a shot of them together. Away they go to my launch site:

There they are. Now to go claim my Group Build Badge. Thanks for having me Wayne! I'm looking forward to the next One True Scale Group Build.

Very cool Duke. Yes Nice addition to the wall. Nicely weathered little tractor and trailer. I also like the camo on the V2!
