Thanks FELDGRAU23, i was just wondering, looks good.

Manik_Impressive - i would use a pencil to show the worn look. and use the dry brushing in other areas. so what im saying is both.

Paul,,,, My educated geuss would be if you are in the desert then go with the dark yellow color,,, if you are going late war not in the desert,, you could go black or camo.

You can't really go wrong with Afrika corps uniforms. Panzer troops wore a combination of the traditional black uniform, and a chocolate brown kind of set-up. The infantry wore anything from khaki, yellow or quickly faded field grey!

I went the brown for a 222 I did for the desert recently; just liked the change.

Manik

Afrika corp uniforms were different, right down to the canvas boots. Luftwaffe uniform was usually a tan-yellow colour but the regular army uniform depended upon where it was made and what from. Captured French grey green fabric was used, as was dark brown fabric and feldgrau, as well as a darker tan-yellow.

Drop me an e-mail and I'll send you some pics when I get my camera back this week.

I got some pics, I know I said I was gonna paint it but I lost part of my airbrush Blush [:I] so these will have to do for now.

This is Tamiya's new kit straight OOB. I forgot how much fun it is just doing one with no AM parts. This is a great little kit. Thumbs Up [tup]
I used Ambroid Pro Weld for the body panels to prevent ooze and it worked great. It does wick rather well though so you gotta be careful how much you apply, I left a fingerprint under the top!

OK, I will upload pics, then try to link them over via Ron...Since the pics were taken, it has recieved an upper hull part-but the upper hull is only the basis for other parts that make it look like an M20...no side skirts yet or wheels.

dang---still couldn't figure it out...sigh.

oh well, i know someone else might help out...
That anyways, is my M20, and it now has a top on it of sorts

Quick fact, the lady bug you see on the chassis-yes that is an Asian Lady Beetle, imported to the states to eat aphids, well, they are the size of 1/35 scale panzerfausts, and are really annoying. That particular one, wasn't there when i placed the model on the table, but five minutes later, there it was. How outrageous? not to mention they attack me when I am working-fly at the paints, I even caught two spawing on my OD paint! Needless to say, that was an adventure for them-they flew-not just buzzed, first lady bug to be flicked at the speed of sound.

that was just to let you know why I am so slow with my build-they are very intimidating

My LHS usually will have a big cleanout of the crummy kits no one wants-when that happens, I am gonna buy some airplanes(they are cheap) and run them over with one of our tractors-and get it all on film. Oh yeah, CRUSH.
The top is all built up, but then a SNAFU happens, and I lost two small pieces-and I CAN"T FIND THEM...oh well. They are a headlight protector thingi, and one of those tow cable hooks from the front end-that will be missing-as it got 'pulled out' and i have puttied it's spot, but I plan to find the headlight cover.

Nice beav!

Yes, ANOTHER quick question. How do you thin down an acrylic for a wash, just water?

I would use thinner for the particular paint or methylated spirits/water. (I think that might be denatured alchohol or something everywhere else, not sure.) I use Tamiya paints and water doesn't work very well.

Nice work Beav! Looks pretty detailed, it is the Tamiya, right?

Edog and Feldgrau and all the other 222/223 people, I solved the screen problem on my 223; it isn't perfect, but it was cheap and fun. I'll try and post pics soon.

Almost done, I have most of the upper hull detail on, and the wheels need to get painted up pretty, then the side skirts, and the MG ring. Lots a painting left to do yet though.

Looks good thundergod!

I wonder...How many here know the purpose of the device mounted to the front bumper? It was implemented due to a rather underhanded and nasty tactic.

OH hey, that is a piano wire cutter-I would know that any day-so that you don't get decapitated while driving. I had one on my jeep-but since it broke, the story is that they didn't see the pole coming-it just jumped in front of the jeep horizontally....

My M20, is nearly done-weather, headlight painting, and the MG mount/MG still need to go on. i will post pics later this evening. Then, I will regretfully be out of the build-I will still check up on it-but I do have to get goin on that M1A1 I got. And I have a MRC helo that I want to build-my first sortie into the sky. sorry....

I am so psyched about it being finished.
