I don't think I would like to be the first guy in the regiment who taught everyone else the importance of a piece of scrap metal welded to the bumper! OW-well-probably instant death-but you know OW. That is a particularly nasty one

I put mud on by mixing 50/50 of white glue (Elmers glue) and water then mix in real dirt and then an acrylic earthy color, I used earth brown (suit to your color) do not use enamels they will not work, remember oil and water dont mixSmile [:)] mix it all really good then apply with a brush, tooth pic ir what ever you want really. when the mud is dry, drybrush it with your earthy brown and thats it.

wow thanks, that seems easier than i thought it would be. I just painted the tracks and road wheels the same color as the ground, and to my surprise it came out just like the pic of it in my display pic. here it ther pic of what i am talking about, this is a work in progress, forget about the unpainted jeep, it will be painted some time. the jeep in not for the GB i buit it a month before when this started.

Forgotten Hope is great, and the best part is that it's as realistic as you can get rght now, try getting azureus and downloading the bittorrent version. Sorry for going OT.

But are there any other simple methods of thinning down acrylics?

LOL, look what I just spotted!!! New detail sets for the 222 from Royal models. They are sure to be pricey though.

Holy Cow, that is amazing-I can't believe that you can fix a model up that much!
My M20 is nearing completion, I only need to place the MG on the ring, and give it some decals. I placed some antennas on it-old paintbrush bristles, and they looks semi decent. I need to fix some of the white spots on them though.

Oh yeah, there is gonna be a suprise in this build for all you out there! Guess what it is?
Ha, I won't tell you. You will have to inspect the finished pics...whenever I get them taken.
HINT: I have to rumage for the weaponry and new decals for it-as the kit ones aren't good enough for me.

Alright, my next post, I promise, will have the completed model pics, and If I do another picture post afterwards, it will have the model on it's vingette base-thing.
The decals, the MG, and it's brand new paint brush bristle antennas are all on, and so are many other little goodies.

Hey all, you never know what you can do with an old CD-R case bottom-turn it into a mini model stand! I covered mine with white glue, and dirt, viola! a dirt scape for the M20!

I had been planning to use it for a mini dio stand for a long time, and I finally got around to building something out of it. They are also multiuse display stands. And if your subject is small enough, it becomes a travel case! with the clear plastic top on of course!
I am so sorry that I have not posted pics-but it is the 'grand march' for my Senior High's prom, and my sister is there, along with my parents-and the digital camera. I guess you and I will all have to wait-but it looks really cool now that it is totally 100% unique. No just some plastic scrap

I love adding different unused dimensions to models if I can...
It just makes them better, even if there are huge gaps on the interior....

Beav & TG...look great guys.

Beav you are oh so close in posting pics. Look where you typed the 'img' after the URL address of the pics. You need to put a forward slash (a '/' ) in front of those 'img's' at the end of the pics to tell the system it is the last part of that command. So basically you have img in square brackets, followed by the URL address of the pic, then /img in square brackets. Then you do the same for each subsequent pic.

I am seriously hating German kits! lol That said, I am going to build an Academy MUTT in Israeli colors and submit that. I actually gave my painted and weathered 250/1 to a buddy because I just didn't like the way it looked.
