Well Tony, I have a 1/700 Arizona that has been sitting around for a while, but I'm truly not sure I can complete it by Feb, since I have other dedicated builds going on. I can give it a try though.

Thanks Theuns, appreciate the comments.

Mongoose - I've added in your P-51B, welcome aboard. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos.

modelcrazy - I'm more than happy to extend the deadline, or give you some flexibility. Let's discuss it when we need to. That is one kit that I really want to see built up, so I'll be observing closely. I'm sure there is one planned for me sometime. Welcome to the GB.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Tony, I am not going to get to the ANT 5 any time soon, I need to complete a 1/32 Tamiya F-51d Mustprang for our MOY end of Jan '17.

It has been on the building board for some time now and I recon it will work for this GB.

Tony,

Put me down for the 1/72 Airfix bf- 110 that I didn't finish for the last Battle of Britain build.  All that's left to do is wipe the dust off of her, mask so the underside can be painted, attach the landing gear, and decals. If there's time, maybe something else.

Lewbud - You're in, welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing a photo of it as it is now. Reminds me, I didn't get my P-51B done for the last Mustang GB, I should have a crack at that too.

Theuns - I've changed your entry.

Cheers

Thax mate

Here is the undercart strut. I painted the slider part of the oleo Alclad and the rest is humbrol steel.

Starting to look like a mustprang now...

Now I just need to figure out if the pannel marked with red arrow was removable for maintenance. It would be a pitty to hide the nice PE filter under it.

Looks very detailed Theuns. None of my aircraft ever get maintained, so I can't comment on the panel. What markings are you going for ?

Nice. I think I've got some 1/72 decals for a South African Mustang in Kore somewhere.

I've managed to finish my Airfix 54mm 1815 French Line Infantryman. Quite happy with it.

Thats the last of the small scale figure that were on my Shelf of Doom. Out of an original six, 1 got booted into the spares box and the other five are completed. Next up are two 1/60 or 120mm figures, just so that I can get them all off the shelf.

It is a pitty I dont have a better camera to sow how good this engineering on the undercart is.

The oleo was wrapped in tin foil to look like chrome

That looks superb Theuns, the detail is excellent.

Here's the latest on the Tamiya 1/16 WWII German Infantryman with reversible winter uniform.

It's a Tamiya plastickit, front and back halves of the torso glued, filled and sanded, then arms attached and primed with Tamiya acrylic. The head was seperate too.

Both the Tamiya and Dragon 1/16 figures are pretty good in my opinion, better than some of the resin ones, particularly early Verlinden.

Jump in with any, or all 68GT. I don't mind if you just progress them a bit, or manage to finish them off.

Here it is with alclad grey primer on and some pannels with alclad black base to look like darker alluminium.

Then I did the exhaust panel in airframe allu to simulate heated stainless steel.

The rest was done in duraluminium that I sprayed a little "patchy" to look like faded weatered alluminium.

That looks very clean, and the NMF effect is very effective Theuns. I liked your approach to it, I'm going to try it myself.

68GT, I'll update the list now, thanks for joining and get stuck into it. * years is long enough !

Tony,

I have a different build I would like to finish if it is alright with you. I's not technically a "shelf of doom" queen as I full intend to get back to it, but this GB would kick it in the shorts.

It's up to you though, and I'll let you make the decision.

It's the 1/350 Fletcher class DD as the USS Johnston DD-557 with PE and crew as she probably looked attacking the Japanese center force during the Battle of Samar.

This summer & early fall seemed to destroy my bench time this year. I have several in varying stages, most are close to completion but I do have one I started in the spring expecting a quick build before I just lost all momentum on it. Count me in with Airfix's 1/72 Wildcat, new-tool. Cockpit complete, engine all painted up, primer applied to unassembled major parts.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

Theuns - That's another really good looking model mate. We don't see many in SA colours over here, so it really catches the eye. You must be pleased with the model, and pleased to get it off the Shelf of Doom. I've updated page 1.

That's seven models we've rescued from the global Shelf of Doom now.

Vance - I haven't seen you around for a while, and it's great to see you jump on board this GB. I remember that you ran some very good GBs a while back. I've added your entry to page one, and look forward to you making some progress on one of my all time favourite aircraft.

My progress has been a bit slowed by distractions to other builds, but I've almost got the seams done on the Tamiya 1/16 Elite infantryman.

Cheers

Just noticed your 'on the bench' list Vance. amazingly, they're all high on my 'to do' list too, except that I have the Valom Ouragon rather than the Heller one.

Here's the start of a new beginning for my P-51B. I was all painted with testors and a paint brush. I'm going to remove it all and try some bare metal foil on it. It can't look any worse. Thought I had a few shots of it before I started stripping the paint and now I can't find them. Once they turn up I'll add them to the post.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

I'm in for this. I'm working on a 1/25 AMT 57 Chevy.  It's been sitting around for a few years.  This will be my first group build also.  Pics added.
