Hey Nick, really liking your Dornier. I too had a tamiya Do 335 kit sitting around for the sum of almost 2 years! I finished it about 3 years ago. Was an absolute fun build all the way through. I'll post some photos soon. Yours is coming along great!

Joe, that Arado cockpit is jaw dropping. I could just stare at that interior for hours! That must have taken some serious time. I also had no idea the Arado cockpit was that complex.

Doug, the scratch building for your Mistel is amazing. Talk about a unique idea, you rarely see many Mistel builds. Cant wait to see if when its done.. which doesnt look to be too much longer

Crown, that green color scheme is what Im going for on my 1/32 Dora build. Only it will have the blue green undersides. I could have built another kit in the time it took me to decide on a scheme to go with. Eagle cals #125 White 16. Love that blue green base coat:

Just got the fuselage together and seams sanded smooth.

Obvious tip for everyone. Before sanding over the seams, engrave the recesses that will end up smooth. This will save tons of work. I had to go back and rescribe using dymo tape. Not fun.

Well Thank you one and all for the very kind words! Like Toshi said, This (I consider) is part of my extended family, and I enjoy being here with every one! OK... More pics, The Goes Boom part is done, along with it I fabricated the trolley it mounts to. Please again allow me a bit of artistic freedom in my design and final outcome! LOLOL... with that said, here is where I'm at now...

Props on and most all the "War weary" weathering done...

And heres the trolley... all made from spare parts.

And here she is mounted to the trolley...

Now I can start on the transport Me262. More in a bit, and happy modeling to all!!!

Doug

Man all kinds of progress going on in here!!!! Thanks for the good word on the Arado and on the 396.

smeosky: I know all too well about those panel lines you're referring to. Hang in there good buddy.

Doug: You continue to baffle me with the creativeness you put into your builds. Lookin' really good man.

crown: Keep it coming with that prep work!! Lookin' very much forward to the paint. BTW I've gotta go have a peek at that '57....

Thanks Joe... I had to learn to be creative as a kid! Lol, maybe that's it, or maybe it's the old Marine in me, lolol...Thanks any way, means alot coming from a talent such as you!  I've really learned a lot from every one that I've met here and hope that I've given some good ideas in return.

Nick, that's going to be a nice pattern...  Look forward to seeing it!

PS... Joe, you were so right about doing cars again. I have a 99 mustang pro street I'm doing on the side, gonna try going all out with it, sheet metal interior, the whole 9...

Thanks TJ... I am trying to stay close as my spare part box and limited abilities and imagination will let me be. LOL... Hey.... I had to do something with the only two 72nd kits I have in stash. LOL...Got tired of looking at them sitting so lonely and unloved on the pile! LOL... Take care, and Thanks again!

Morning all! Got started the other day on the Mistel transport craft. Just downloaded pics so heres what I have so far...

Not too much to these itty bitties... The paint and detail will likely take longer then the build...

So far I am very happy with the kit, to this point. The fit is very good and there were none of the usual issues at all with wing root or any other gaps or fittment... Its going together faster then expected. More later! Happy modeling all!

Hey Gang, After all the delay, I've finally finished the ME-410, here are the somewhat sad final pics. Due to my current location in SW Asia, I have had access to such limited resources to accomplish the build that I finished the painting by hand. After assembling the canopy and leaving it overnight, you can image my frustration when I returned the next day to find the canopy almost totally frosted over! I think itsdue to the glue/cement I used which can be seen in one of the attached photos. Any recommendations on this are appreciated. Usually I use white glue at home, but not so much here trying to get this finished in time to send home. I was utterly and totally frustrated after the work on the front office. I had also read reviews where this kit's canopy was poorly fitted and this build definitely lived up to that review. No automatic alt text available.Image may contain: airplane and outdoorImage may contain: airplaneImage may contain: airplaneImage may contain: airplaneNo automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available.

Hi,

That's unfortunate about your canopy, but the build turned out really nice, especially your paint job. Smile

Nice job on the 410. Unfortunatly the super glue will do that and i am not aware of anyway to fix it.

Mike, considering your limited resources, your Me410 still turned out to be a good study of this particular bird. Yes

Canopies - yes, clear plastic tend to have bad reactions to the fumes from strong  glues.  Might of got away with just a small dab or two to keep the part in place.

regards,

Jack

Mawright: Overall your 410 turned out very good. Sorry about the frosting over but there is one way I've found to get around the it. I can't remember if you did it or not but I always dip my canopies / windshields or any finicky clear plastic parts in Future (aka Pledge) floor polish. I haven't had an issue since I started doing things that way. We've really enjoyed you in this GB and hope you'll grab another kit and give 'er a go with another build.

Afternoon all! ot some more done inbetween chores ...

Well... Thats all for now. I thimk paint is due next. All in all, the SMER kit isn't a bad little ole kit. Its gone together well and IMO has a nicely detailed moulding. Wish they made them larger...Any way, Keep up the great work all, and more in a bit! Take care,

Doug
