AS the kit looks nice. did the tow vehiclecome with it?
Johnny looks very nice. do you mix your paint to scale or shoot it strait from the bottle. your colors really pop. seems like my different colors don't have the saturation like yours have.
ARMOR wow that's to bad about the fit issues. I'm sure your talented enough to fix it . your work is amazing. but who wants to deal with it. thats the one thing with revell you never know what you are going to get. is it one of there older kits ?
JG that's some nice work on the wing roots. that is one way I have yet to try.

Nice start Bish, looking forward to seeing it come together!

Cheers Johnny.
BD, thanks, all that 72nd building is paying off with the larger scale. And no worries, i just went 2 weeks without an update, its moving but slowly.

Dog, thanks for the kind words! I don't know that I'm THAT talented, but you're right, who wants to deal with it? I guess I should have test fit it a bit better. but yeah, the fit issues are a pain. Also have one with the front portion of the canopy; had to put some putty in to fill a gap at the bottom of the canopy glass, and it will be a real issure to sand that down without scratching up the canopy glass. The other gaps have all been filled and sanded now, so we'll see what it looks like when painted.
BTW, on my other kit, the Me-163, yeah, that tow vehicle IS part of the kit. Thanks again.
rooster513 Nice start Bish, looking forward to seeing it come together!
Thanks Andy, and so am i. Test fitting looks promising.

Jerry, i could not bear it any more, i justhave to ask. What arethe 4 bits coming off the front. At first glanse i thought it was a properller, but it can't be.
AA, i am really surprised to hear that about that kit. MY experiance with Revell is pretty good. I know that kit is over 20 years old, but still would have expected better. And i have that in the stash so now i am worried.

I'm pretty sure those are radar "antlers".
Alright, well, I know it’s going to be far from perfect, but the puttying and sanding of the gaps on the Horten went a lot easier than I thought! So now I’ve started painting it and we’ll see how it turns out. So far I sprayed the bottom RLM 76, and the top has just received an overall coat of RLM 82. After it dries enough, I’ll mask the camo pattern and spray with RLM 81.

Well, aside from one minor mishap in which the removal of the frisket mask also resulted in the removal of some paint, I have to say I’m really pleased with the results of the painting! Just have to fix that spot now and then it’s on to decalling.

Quick update on the 262. Cockpit is painted and fuselage is sealed. This build is straight out of the box so no seatbelts. The overall fit and finish thus far has been excellent.

Good job on that camo. The 229 really was a sweet looking bird!

Looking really good mopar!
looking good mopar here is my latest do-335 pics its been awhile slowly comming up to speed 1st glossy clear coat for decals
Nick.
Mustang, you can put the Horten 229 on the front page and mark it down as DONE! Just have to clean the canopy glass a little, but she’s done. I used painter’s tape instead of liquid mask on part of the canopy, and when I removed it some of the adhesive stuck to the canopy. Anybody know a good method for removing tape adhesive that doesn’t also result in removing the paint? And Bish, you were concerned about the fit problems I mentioned before? Just wait til you try to assemble the nose gear on this beast! It’s torture! The rear wheels go on fine, but check real photos of an actual Horten for the door placement on those wheels, as the instructions are very vague about it.
That said, here’s the final reveal:

Nick, nice splinter scheme on that 335.
I've got you added to the front page Armor. Great finish and takes for taking part!
Crown, that camo came out really great!
bish lol those are the 2 radar post. I did not want to add them this early because of breaking them off. but can't move on without them. I just got the pit painted yesterday I'll wash it today and throw some pics up.

I have never seen a nose radar set up like that before, they are usually added onto the fuselage from the outside. They look more surdy than the usual ones so hopefully they will stay in one piece.
AA, very good work there, and nice job on solving the wing root gap.
To remove the tape residue, you can try a cotton swab moistened with water. I wouldn't use anything harsher.
regards,
Jack
Actually, Jack, I used a q-tip soaked with isopropyl alcohol, and that worked really well.
